Get PDF
The research result of the modified rosin as a component of model compositions for precision cast-ing is given in the article. The last five years successes in producing the latest products from rosin are reached. New rosin products essentially differ from rosin by physi cal and chemical properties possess certain advantages enable to expand the sphere of introduction and level rosin shortcomings. Therefore development and research of new model compositions for precision casting taking into account the achievements in the field of secondary rosin product synthesis is an actual task and promotes decelerat-ing elimination in this area from foreign analogues

The relevance of the contemporary landscape-ecological and biogeochemical studies of the Ob floodplain

Get PDF
We have systematized and summarized the results of the Ob River floodplain studies and have shown that the flood and the floodplain influence all the territory of Western Siberia due to the processes happening there. The floodplain at different times was the object of interest of many scientists, but the total level of study of the Ob and the associated ground and the lake network water resources and quality can be generally assessed as low. The waters of the Ob middle course are quite polluted according to bacteria content. It is possible that a significant part oforganic and biogenic substances, microorganisms and some microelements come into the Ob floodplain waters from anthropogenic and natural sources distributed in the watersheds area. The soils of the Ob Riverfloodplain can be considered to be clean andfree ofany chemical pollution. In these soils, the amount of trace elements is small. To study the floodplain changes after a flood the methods of landscape ecology are used, such as the collection and analysis of stock and descriptive materials, literature and maps; the preparation of a series of component and general landscape maps. Nowadays a complex research of the Ob River and the adjacent surface waters is relevant

Cellulases from Mycelial fungi Penicillium verruculosum as a Real Alternative to Trichoderma Enzymes in Industrial Hydrolysis of Cellulosic Biomass

Get PDF
Abstract The possibility of using the recipient strain Penicillium verruculosum B1-537 (ΔniaD) as a producer of laboratory and industrial enzymes was considered. The advantage of this strain is its ability to secrete a basic cellulase complex consisting of cellobiohydrolases, endoglucanases, and β-glucosidase, which exceeds in its hydrolytic ability the enzyme complex of Hypocrea (Trichoderma) strains. Using the expression system, the basic complex of cellulases of the recipient strain Piptochaetium verruculosum B1-537 (ΔniaD) was supplemented with new (booster) enzymes that are necessary to increase its hydrolytic activity. Enzyme preparations adapted to the processing of various types of renewable plant biomass were obtained

Molecular hierarchy of mammary differentiation yields refined markers of mammary stem cells

The partial purification of mouse mammary gland stem cells (MaSCs) using combinatorial cell surface markers (Lin-CD24+CD29hCD49fh) has improved our understanding of their role in normal development and breast tumorigenesis. Despite the significant improvement in MaSC enrichment, there is presently no methodology that adequately isolates pure MaSCs. Seeking new markers of MaSCs, we characterized the stem-like properties and expression signature of label-retaining cells from the mammary gland of mice expressing a controllable H2b-GFP transgene. In this system, the transgene expression can be repressed in a doxycycline-dependent fashion, allowing isolation of slowly dividing cells with retained nuclear GFP signal. Here, we show that H2b-GFPh cells reside within the predicted MaSC compartment and display greater mammary reconstitution unit frequency compared with H2b-GFPneg MaSCs. According to their transcriptome profile, H2b-GFPh MaSCs are enriched for pathways thought to play important roles in adult stem cells. We found Cd1d, a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, to be highly expressed by H2b-GFPh MaSCs, and isolation of Cd1d+ MaSCs further improved the mammary reconstitution unit enrichment frequency to nearly a single-cell level. Additionally, we functionally characterized a set of MaSC-enriched genes, discovering factors controlling MaSC survival. Collectively, our data provide tools for isolating a more precisely defined population of MaSCs and point to potentially critical factors for MaSC maintenance

Practical guidelines for standardising the measurement of resting metabolism by indirect calorimetry: a literature review

Get PDF
Accurate resting metabolic rate readings are essential for dietary planning and body composition monitoring not only for healthy individuals but also for athletes. A number of factors can alter resting metabolic rate during its measurement by indirect calorimetry. The methodology used may affect the results of the study. A clear standardisation of this procedure is needed to obtain the most accurate results.Purpose: To review the literature to determine the optimal subject condition and methodology for the resting metabolism measurement procedure using indirect calorimetry.Materials and methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, MEDLINE and Cochrane Library databases. The query included key words and logical phrases: “calorimetry”, “indirect calorimetry”, “resting metabolic rate”, “energy metabolism”, “basal metabolism”, “standards”. Only English-language studies and human studies were considered. Additional information was identified because of the review and included in the review. Results: the parameters of standardization during the resting metabolism measurement procedure are described: consumption of food, ethanol, caffeine, nicotine; daily activities and physical activity; body position in space and environmental conditions during the measurement; actions of the specialist performing the procedure, etc. The article outlines effective methods for measuring resting metabolism to obtain the most accurate results in both healthy individuals and athletes. Conclusion: an attempt has been made to formulate precise methodological rules for standardisation and recommendations for measuring resting metabolism by indirect calorimetry

MOLECULAR MARKING OF SUNFLOWER LINES WITH DIFFERENT ABILITY TO SUPPRESSION OF THE CYTOPLASMIC MALE STERILITY PHENOTYPE

Ninety five lines of sunflower genetic collection differing by their ability to suppress the CMS phenotype were molecularly marked with the use of 7 primer pairs. Using the STS marker orfH522, a sterile (PET1) cytoplasmon was identified in 79 lines, which confirmed indirectly the presence of fertility restoration genes in their genotypes. The majority of these lines also have a complex of molecular markers linked to the Rf1 gene. The HRG01, HRG02 and STS115 markers showed the best diagnostic value in revealing the Rf1 gene in the examined material. The data on allelic variation of the microsatellite loci ORS224, ORS511 and ORS799 were obtained for the first time
