    From quantum affine groups to the exact dynamical correlation function of the Heisenberg model

    The exact form factors of the Heisenberg models XXXXXX and XXZXXZ have been recently computed through the quantum affine symmetry of XXZXXZ model in the thermodynamic limit.     Hospice social work and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

    This study was undertaken to explore how hospice social workers based at United States hospice agencies perceive changes in their work responsibilities in relation to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Secondly, this study sought to explore hospice social worker support of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act healthcare policy reform. A nonprobability sample of availability was used to find research participants. The researcher recruited participants through online social and professional networking groups and forums and by snowball sampling methods. Self-selected participants electronically confirmed their eligibility for participation in the study, prior to completing the 20-question online survey. Fourteen hospice social workers, representing 11 separate states, participated. The findings of the research showed study participants did not identify any substantial changes in their work-related duties after the PPACA took effect. Within the five categories examined—clinical and counseling, case management, management and administration, advocacy, and spiritual and cultural competence—which vary widely in the amount of perceived change, participants reported experiencing the most increase and overall change in case management duties. The study also found that, overall, hospice social workers who responded to the survey supported the PPACA. Many hospice social workers commented on the ethical dilemma of delivering inadequate services within a health care model that does not meet the needs of all end-of-life care recipients and those in need of end-of-life care

    Extracting W Boson Couplings from the e+ee^{+}e^{-} Production of Four Leptons

    We consider the processes e+e+ννˉe^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow \ell^{+} \ell^{\prime -}\nu \bar{\nu}^{\prime}, including all possible charged lepton combinations, with regard to measuring parameters characterizing the WW boson. We calculate at what level these processes can be used to measure anamolous triple-boson vertice coupling parameters for the cases of e+ee^{+}e^{-} colliders at 500 GeVGeV and 1 TeVTeV center of mass energies.Comment: 13 pages,OCIP/C-93-

    Spin-Correlation Coefficients and Phase-Shift Analysis for p+3^3He Elastic Scattering

    Angular Distributions for the target spin-dependent observables A0y_{0y}, Axx_{xx}, and Ayy_{yy} have been measured using polarized proton beams at several energies between 2 and 6 MeV and a spin-exchange optical pumping polarized 3^3He target. These measurements have been included in a global phase-shift analysis following that of George and Knutson, who reported two best-fit phase-shift solutions to the previous global p+3^3He elastic scattering database below 12 MeV. These new measurements, along with measurements of cross-section and beam-analyzing power made over a similar energy range by Fisher \textit{et al.}, allowed a single, unique solution to be obtained. The new measurements and phase-shifts are compared with theoretical calculations using realistic nucleon-nucleon potential models.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev.

    INVESTIGATION INTO THE RATE OF TRIOCTYLAMINE PARTITIONING INTO THE MCU AQUEOUS PHASES

    The Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) has examined the issue of trioctylamine (TOA) losses at the Modular Caustic-Side Solvent Extraction Unit (MCU) solvent. For this study, SRNL used partitioning and radiolysis data from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as well as actual MCU operational data. From the radiolysis data, SRNL prepared a model on the rate of TOA degradation. From the combined sets of data, SRNL has calculated the largest possible value of TOA (although this value is not credible) in the Strip Effluent (SE) and also calculated two different conservative, more realistic values for TOA in the SE. Even under conservative assumptions, such as all of the TOA losses partitioning solely into the Strip Effluent (SE), the MCU operational data suggests that the maximum realistic TOA concentration in the SE is < 0.6 mg/L. Furthermore, from understanding the chemical differences between the old and new strip solutions, SRNL does not believe that the TOA will deplete from the blended BOBCalixC6 – Next Generation Solvent (NGS-MCU) at a rate higher than previously experienced. Finally, SRNL recommends pursuing analytical development of a method for TOA with a superior precision compared to the current method. However, as the TOA in the blended solvent will continuously decline during MCU operations, further improvements in the development of the understanding of TOA losses may not be cost effective

    The upper triangular solutions to the three-state constant quantum Yang-Baxter equation

    In this article we present all nonsingular upper triangular solutions to the constant quantum Yang-Baxter equation Rj1j2k1k2Rk1j3l1k3Rk2k3l2l3=Rj2j3k2k3Rj1k3k1l3Rk1k2l1l2R_{j_1j_2}^{k_1k_2}R_{k_1j_3}^{l_1k_3}R_{k_2k_3}^{l_2l_3}= R_{j_2j_3}^{k_2k_3}R_{j_1k_3}^{k_1l_3}R_{k_1k_2}^{l_1l_2} in the three state case, i.e. all indices ranging from 1 to 3. The upper triangular ansatz implies 729 equations for 45 variables. Fortunately many of the equations turned out to be simple allowing us to start breaking the problem into smaller ones. In the end we had a total of 552 solutions, but many of them were either inherited from two-state solutions or subcases of others. The final list contains 35 nontrivial solutions, most of them new.Comment: 24 Pages in LaTe
