The kinetics of enzyme reaction is generally studied using the Michaelis-Menten equation and various methods of its linearization. Each method has its advantages and drawbacks, so their comparison for determining the kinetics of new enzymes action is topical. The aim of this work was to study the kinetics of casein hydrolysis catalyzed by new peptidase from Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis IMB B-7465 using several methods of enzyme activity assessment and Michaelis-Menten equation linearization. The satisfactory agreement between kinetic constants values obtained by the methods of Lineweaver-Burk, Hanes, Eadie-Hofstee, Cornish-Bowden-Eisenthal was established. The Lineweaver-Burk method was shown to be optimal for determining Km and Vmax of casein hydrolysis. Estimation of caseinolytic activity with the use of ortho-phthalic dialdehyde allowed more accurate Vmax determination compared to the use of Anson and Kunitz methods

It is carried out the retrospective analysis and an assessment of efficiency of treatment of 13 patients (1 men and 12 women) aged from 49 till 79 years which were on hospitalization concerning sialoses. From Mikulich's illness 5 women aged from 46 till 59 years suffered. Concerning Shegren's syndrome treatment there passed 8 people (1 man and 7 women) aged from 59 till 77 years. On the basis of kompleknsy treatment of 16 patients of advanced and senile age (1 man and 15 women) aged from 61 till 77 years suffering from sialoses, including Mikulich's illness of 5 women aged from 61 till 72 years and Shegren's syndrome of 11 people (1 man and 10 women) aged from 63 till 77 years, ways of an assessment of severity of the specified pathology and efficiency of its treatment at adults of different age groups are offered. Sovershenstvovana a technique of treatment of sialoses at people of the senior age groups with application of bioproofreaders of a delivery of «lesmin», «yodemam», «fitolon», linimentum of a tsikloferon, the peptide vezugen bioregulator. Importance of regular carrying out antirecurrent treatment-and-prophylactic actions in the course of dynamic observation over patients of advanced and senile age, a stradayushchimisialozama that leads to improvement of quality of their life is shown

Microstructure and electrochemical properties of the vanadium alloys after low-temperature nitrogen plasma treatment

    No full text
Purpose: The proposed research aims to determine the expediency of surface treatment of vanadium alloys of V-Cr and V-Ti systems due to irradiation of their surfaces with low- temperature nitrogen plasma using plasma torch NO-01. Design/methodology/approach: The investigation of microstructure and X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) of the samples were performed using an electron microscope TESCAN Vega3. The microhardness (Vickers hardness) of the samples was measured before and after surface treatment. The study of corrosive properties of the surface layers was performed by an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) method. Corrosion damages were identified using impedance dependences. Findings: The microstructure of the surface layers of the V-8Ti, V-15Cr, and V-35Cr alloys in the initial state and after plasma treatment have been investigated. The chemical composition of the surface layers is determined and comparative measurements of the microhardness of these alloys are carried out. Corrosion-electrochemical properties (corrosion potentials, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and constructed potential-dynamic polarization curves) of investigated alloys after treatment with nitrogen plasma are evaluated. Research limitations/implications: The results obtained using laboratory samples should be checked at the conditions of power equipment operation. Practical implications: This treatment has advantages over other methods of surface engineering since it provides strong surface plastic deformation and the possibility of formation of secondary phases resulting in increases in surface hardness and corrosion resistance. Originality/value: Vanadium alloys have significant advantages over other structural materials due to their high thermal conductivity and swelling resistance, high strength and plasticity up to temperatures of 700-800°C, and good weldability
