Minor Structures for the Improvement of Wave Disturbance in a Small Harbor

A very important aspect in the planning, design, and maintenance of a harbor is to determine the response of the harbor basin to incident waves. The Saras harbor in South Sardinia (Italy) has been experiencing significant wave disturbance that affects the safety of mooring and operational activities. In the framework of a large research, this paper summarises a comprehensive description of new energy absorbing structures that can be seen as an efficient alternative to more traditional structures when limited by economic or technical constraints. Specifically, the paper presents the results of a graphical preliminary approach and a numerical modelling that solves the enhanced Boussinesq equations in two horizontal dimensions

KAJIAN AGLOMERASI INDUSTRI LOGAM DI DESA NGINGAS KECAMATAN WARU KABUPATEN SIDOARJO

Desa Ngingas Kecamatan Waru Kabupaten Sidoarjo merupakan suatu sentra industri yang memproduksi berbagai jenis logam. Lokasi berdirinya industri logam yang ada di Desa Ngingas ini bersifat mengelompok (aglomerasi). Adanya aglomerasi industri logam ini menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan. Salah satunya adalah persaingan yang tidak sehat, meskipun demikian dalam perkembangan industri logam ini, pengrajin sampai sekarang tetap mempertahankan produksinya guna membangun kualitas industri logam di Desa Ngingas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pasar, biaya transportasi, dan increasing return dari perusahaan terkait dengan aglomerasi industri logam di Desa Ngingas Kecamatan Waru Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 54 pengrajin dari total populasi sebanyak 115 pengrajin. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara dengan kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem pemasaran yang paling banyak digunakan oleh para pengrajin adalah lewat pengepul. Omset produk terbanyak adalah peralatan pertanian dan komponen kompor gas yang mencapai >6.000 unit/bulan. Desa Ngingas pemasarannya sudah luas baik dalam lingkup lokal, regional, nasional, bahkan internasional. Lokalisasi industri yang berdekatan membawa keuntungan yang dapat menekan biaya transportasi. Bahan baku didapatkan dari luar daerah Sidoarjo seperti Surabaya, Pasuruan, Malang, Tulungagung, Ponorogo, Semarang, dan Yogyakarta. Biaya transportasi dari lokasi bahan baku ke lokasi industri sebesar ± Rp 140.000,00. Biaya transportasi pemasaran ditanggung oleh konsumen. Asal modal dari tabungan sendiri dengan jumlah modal awal yang digunakan paling banyak antara Rp 16.000.000,00 - Rp 20.000.000,00. Jumlah pendapatan bersih dalam industri ini adalah paling banyak antara Rp 6.000.000,00-Rp 8.000.000,00. Jumlah ini sudah bersih dari gaji tenaga kerja, biaya transportasi, biaya bahan baku dan lain-lain. Pendapatan bersih sebesar itu membuat para pengrajin mampu dan menekan hutang secara besar dan melakukan perputaran modal dengan baik. Kata Kunci : Aglomerasi, Industri Loga

Hubungan Ketertarikan Interpersonal Dengan Work Engagement Pegawai PT. Salindo Berlian Motor Jakarta

Employees who have a work engagement is employees who are willing to fight and diligently do the work, and feel one with the company. One of the factors that affect the employees tied to his work is the existence of interpersonal attraction, namely the existence of a positive assessment against a co-worker, that raises the closeness and togetherness. The purpose of this research was to know relationship interpersonal attraction and work engagement. The design of this study is a quantitative non experimental with saturated sampling technique , totaling 60 employees of PT . Salindo Berlian Motors . The coefficient of reliability of the measuring instrument interpersonal attraction ( α ) = 0.924 with 36 items is valid , and measuring work engagemet ( α ) = 0,959 with 58 items is valid . The result of Pearson product moment correlation between interpersonal attraction and work engagement is obtained sig ( p ) = . 000 ( p<0.05) with the value of the correlation ( r ) = . 779. Perancangan Cooling Tower Untuk Alat Penukar Kalor Shell and Tube Kapasitas Skala Laboratorium

Secara umum cooling tower dapat dikategorikan sebagai pendingin evaporatif yang digunakan untuk mendinginkan air atau media kerja lainnya sampai bertemperatur mendekati temperatur bola basah udara sekitar. Cooling tower mampu menurunkan suhu air lebih dari peralatan-peralatan yang hanya menggunakan udara untuk membuang panas, seperti radiator dalam mobil, oleh karena itu biayanya lebih efektif dan efisien energinya.oleh karena itu perancangan Cooling Tower yang akan digunakan untuk Alat Penukar Kalor Shell and Tube dengan kapasitas Skala Laboratorium. Cooling tower tersebut harus mampu menyediakan kembali sejumlah air yang relatif sejuk (dingin) yang akan digunakan kembali dalam sistem Alat Penukar Kalor dan digunakan sebagai pendingin lubrican oil. Dengan suplai air sejuk (dingin) yang tepat dan kontinyu maka Alat Penukar Kalor tersebut dapat bekerja sesuai dengan spesifikasi dan kondisi yang diharapkan, selain itu biaya yang dikeluarkan akan menjadi lebih efektif dan energi yang dikeluarkan lebih efisien

Keperawatan adalah salah satu profesi di rumah sakit yang berperan penting dalam upaya menjaga mutu pelayanan kesehatan di rumah sakit. Secara umum pelayanan rumah sakit terdiri dari pelayanan rawat inap dan rawat jalan. Tugas perawat yang berdasarkan fungsi perawat dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan (Hidayat, 2009). Perawat yang bertugas di ruang rawat inap dan rawat jalan berpotensi mengalami stres karena tuntutan pekerjaan yang overload yang berhubungan dengan pelayanan kepada orang lain. Keadaan seperti itu apabila berlangsung terus menerus akan menyebabkan perawat mengalami kelelahan fisik, emosi, dan mental yang disebut dengan gejala burnout

Bandwidth and accuracy-aware state estimation for smart grids using software defined networks

Smart grid (SG) will be one of the major application domains that will present severe pressures on future communication networks due to the expected huge number of devices that will be connected to it and that will impose stringent quality transmission requirements. To address this challenge, there is a need for a joint management of both monitoring and communication systems, so as to achieve a flexible and adaptive management of the SG services. This is the issue addressed in this paper, which provides the following major contributions. We define a new strategy to optimize the accuracy of the state estimation (SE) of the electric grid based on available network bandwidth resources and the sensing intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) installed in the field. In particular, we focus on phasor measurement units (PMUs) as measurement devices. We propose the use of the software defined networks (SDN) technologies to manage the available network bandwidth, which is then assigned by the controller to the forwarding devices to allow for the flowing of the data streams generated by the PMUs, by considering an optimization routine to maximize the accuracy of the resulting SE. Additionally, the use of SDN allows for adding and removing PMUs from the monitoring architecture without any manual intervention. We also provide the details of our implementation of the SDN solution, which is used to make simulations with an IEEE 14-bus test network in order to show performance in terms of bandwidth management and estimation accuracy

Police Department is one of the functions of govermment in country, maintenance of security and good order of society, law enforcement, protection, auspices and public service (Indonesian Police Department, 2002). Every day, case or incident often occur arround us.Therefore, Police have to do reporting occurrence or in termed as (incident reporting) to record all incident. Incident categorized into 2 types, criminal (theft, robbery, and other) and non criminal (fires, landslides, and other). To overcome the problems that exist today, then I made a new system were underway that would later help Police department especially GRESIK Police Department Resort in doing incident reports. This new system is expected to overcome the problems especially incident reporting in GRESIK Police Department Resort.
