Perceptions of trends in Seychelles artisanal trap fisheries: comparing catch monitoring, underwater visual census and fishers' knowledge
Fisheries scientists and managers are increasingly engaging with fishers' knowledge (FK) to provide novel information and improve the legitimacy of fisheries governance. Disputes between the perceptions of fishers and scientists can generate conflicts for governance, but can also be a source of new perspectives or understandings. This paper compares artisanal trap fishers' reported current catch rates with landings data and underwater visual census (UVC). Fishers' reports of contemporary 'normal' catch per day tended to be higher than recent median landings records. However, fishers' reports of 'normal' catch per trap were not significantly different from the median CPUE calculated from landings data, and reports of 'good' and 'poor' catch rates were indicative of variability observed in landings data. FK, landings and UVC data all gave different perspectives of trends over a ten-year period. Fishers' perceptions indicated greater declines than statistical models fitted to landings data, while UVC evidence for trends varied between sites and according to the fish assemblage considered. Divergence in trend perceptions may have resulted from differences in the spatial, temporal or taxonomic focus of each dataset. Fishers may have experienced and understood behavioural changes and increased fishing power, which may have obscured declines from landings data. Various psychological factors affect memory and recall, and may have affected these memory-based estimates of trends, while different assumptions underlying the analysis of both interview data and conventional scientific data could also have led to qualitatively different trend perceptions. Differing perspectives from these three data sources illustrate both the potential for 'cognitive conflicts' between stakeholders who do not rely on the same data sources, as well as the importance of multiple information sources to understand dynamics of fisheries. Collaborative investigation of such divergence may facilitate learning and improve fisheries governance
Osimertinib-induced Cardiac Dysfunction in EGFR-Mutated Lung Cancer: A Case Series of Five Patients
Introduction: The gold standard treatment for Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) positive Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)patients is represented byosimertinib, an irreversible third-generation EGFR inhibitor that has been providingimportant outcomes’ improvementscompared to chemotherapy and other target therapies; either upfront or as second line therapy, in case of EGFR T790M detection after previous tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI).Osimertinib is generally well tolerated. Most common side effects are diarrhea, rash, paronychia, dry skin and alsochanges in QT interval.Presentation of case series: Here we report five cases of left ventricular dysfunction duringosimertinib treatment, observed between January 2017 and August 2018. The five patients, with a general low cardiovascular risk profile, required a dose modification/discontinuation of the TKI therapy and a specific cardio-protective treatment, normally with a recovery of the systolic function. Conclusion: Both American and European compound labels highlight warnings of cardiomyopathy and changes in cardiac contractility during osimertinib treatment, recommending cardiac monitoring and dose adjustment in patients with cardiac risk factors. In spite of this, a standardized echocardiographic follow-up in the entire population is still not available and recommendations about the use of tissue Doppler echocardiography with more sophisticated indices are missing. With the expanding use of osimertinib we need better strategies to prevent or mitigate cardiovascular damage from cancer therapy in a larger multidisciplinary approach in which every issue is carefully evaluated
Quantitative cardiovascular magnetic resonance in pregnant women: cross-sectional analysis of physiological parameters throughout pregnancy and the impact of the supine position
There are physiological reasons for the effects of positioning on hemodynamic variables and cardiac dimensions related to altered intra-abdominal and intra-thoracic pressures. This problem is especially evident in pregnant women due to the additional aorto-caval compression by the enlarged uterus. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of postural changes
Arbeitslosigkeit, Arbeitszeitverk¨urzung, VECM, Frankreich

The status of career development in the elementary school as viewed by elementary school counselors of Virginia
Although 1970 has been proclaimed the contennial year of the founding of the public school system in Virginia,1 organized guidance in the elementary schools had its beginning only five years ago.2 During the ensuing years, there has been increased interest in offering more and improved guidance services in the elementary schools of the state. An additional emphasis has been placed on the developmental aspect of guidance, specially trained persons have been employed in some of the elementary schools in Virginia.
One of the this developmental aspect of guidance in which there is great concern is career development. Because of the rapidly changing conditions that characterize the world of work, many educators are seeking ways to provide the young child with a vocational awareness which is both relevant and up to date. The basic idea behind the vocational awareness concept is that boys and girls of elementary school age will receive adequate training and experiences to help foster self-knowledge in relation to the world of work. Such experiences should provide these youngsters with an occupational readiness which will enable them to make meaningful occupational choices later in life. Thus, the guidance movement is directing its attention to ways in which the experiences of the elementary school child will affect his ultimate decisions and ability to cope with current and future problems.
This article target to introduce two copies of Ginevra Cantofoli’s Sibilla that are preserved in the art collection of the Region of Murcia, and that represent the echo of a highly-produced topic during the romanticism in the middle nineteenth century. The paintings of Germán Hernández Amores and an anonymous artist reproduced what, in those years, was considered as the Beatrice Cenci’s portrait by Guido Reni, because of that in this essay we’ll try to explain the birth of the confusion, who is the original author and the possible hypothesis over its iconography, that allow us a deeply knowledge of the works of the Murcia collection
Cardiac and vascular structure and function parameters do not improve with alternate nightly home hemodialysis: An interventional cohort study
Background: Nightly extended hours hemodialysis may improve left ventricular hypertrophy and function and endothelial function but presents problems of sustainability and increased cost. The effect of alternate nightly home hemodialysis (NHD) on cardiovascular structure and function is not known
