    Fine copy of the shorter commentary of al-Taftāzānī upon Talkhīṣ al-Miftāḥ by Jalāl al-Dīn al-Qazwīnī (d.1338), an abridgment of the third part of Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm by al-Sakkākī (d.1229), on rhetoric (ʻilm al-maʻānī wa-al-bayān).Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl. Ms. 633Origin: As appears in colophon on p.531, latter portion (from around p.471) copied by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻAbd al-Munʻim ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAlwān al-Ḥimṣī al-Shāfiʻī, for his shaykh Yāsīn al-Sibāʻī whose father Muṣṭafá al-Sibāʻī copied the opening portion (opening to around p.470) with transcription completed 16 Dhu al-Hijjah 1191 [ca. 15 January 1778].Accompanying materials: a. (vertical), chain lines spaced 22-24 mm. apart (horizontal), and watermarks including crown with grapes (raisin) above and name below (see p.10, 11, 128, 129, etc.) and other names (see p.8, 13, 159), medium cream to beige in color, thin though sturdy, well-burnished to glossy ; another type with 10 laid lines per cm.
