Organizational Behavior in the Knowledge Based Society, a Practical Research in the Romanian Business Environment

The paper contains the results of a special research developed by the author on the organizational behavior in some multinational companies with branches in Romania. This research is confirming the fact that the organizational behavior is very much influenced by the core organizational values and is answering to the questions about how people, individuals, and groups act in organizations and why. The research demonstrated how the core values of an organization are influencing the organizational behavior of the human resources from different organizational levels. Motivation of the Human Resources for a Sustainable Organizational Development

This paper addresses the issue of human resources motivation which is considered one of the most important ways for a sustainable organizational development. The author was conducted a special research on the issue and the main findings are presented and analyzed in the content of this paper. The objective of the research was to identify new possibilities for increasing the degree of human resources motivation for supporting a more sustainable organizational development. Based on ideas from critical realism and critical theory, the paper argues against the limitative approach of motivation of the human resource in the 21st century. The research has made it possible to identify the most relevant behavioral dimension of human resources motivation process. TRANSPARENCY OF THE ROMANIAN LOCAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

This paper addresses a broader issue related to transparency of decision-making and implementation of legislation in terms of public satisfaction in local government activity in some sectors from Bucharest. One of the most important objective of this paper is to see how much the public opinions are taken into account along the decision making process developed by the local public administration from Bucharest. Through the current research were primarily aimed to determine the degree of transparency in local government decision in Bucharest, on the example of a district mayors and barriers along the decision making process and how is working the communication process between local government and citizens. The first part of the paper provides information about the legislation about the transparency of the decision-making and access of the citizens to public information in the Romanian local public administration. The second part describes the hypotheses and research objectives. The third part contains information about the structure of the sample, followed by presentation of data obtained from the centralization of the questionnaire responses, which were processed and analyzed. CORPORATE MANAGEMENT IN FEW MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES REPRESENTED IN ROMANIA

The paper contains the results of an interesting research done by the author in some multinational companies which have branches in Romania, mainly in Bucharest, Arad and Timisoara. The objective of the research paper was to find out some particular aspects of the corporate management taking into account some key variables like: corporate values, leadership style, strategic perspectives and communication. In order to do this research we have developed a special survey based on a questioner. The survey shown us how all these above mentioned variables are influencing the corporate management and how important is each of them within the management process. The results of these surveys gave us the possibility to find out the way in which corporate management is influencing and is influenced by the variables considered. Growing Leaders: Public Policies Process in the Romanian Energy Sector along the Last Years

The paper contains the results of a special analysis developed by the authors in order to demonstrate how the public policy process in Romania evolved from the ethical perspective. The first part presents the main changes in the Romanian legal framework during the last four years and the key initiatives of the Romanian Government through General Secretariat of the Government and the Parliament related with these. The second part is about the implementation, in especially how the public policy process has been developed in our public sector with the main accent on the ethical dimension of it. The authors set up the main questions about the ethical dimension of the public policy process and received the data for our interpretations. Based on these, the authors identified the positive and negative aspects of the public policy process, the main reasons and their consequences. The last part of the paper contains key recommendations proposed by the authors for increasing the ethical dimension of the public policy process in the Romanian public sector, based on the best practices identified in other developed countries.

NEW PUBLIC MANAGEMENT MODEL A SPECIAL ALTERNATIVE FOR THE ROMANIAN LOCAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

The paper is based on a special research started few years ago. The main objective of this research is to contribute to the innovation of the public management from the Romanian local public administration based on the best practices from the developed European public administration and not only. Our research team set up a new public management model supported by the informational technologies and communications. The research started with a very special diagnosis of the public organizations from the Romanian local public administration and intends to demonstrate that there is an alternative for transforming our Romanian public administration in a more transparent and more effective one. The key component of this model is the public management component, but this is supported by other two components: informatic and communication. The model is defined for each managerial level: top public management, middle public management and low public management level. INTEGRATED GOVERNANCE – A REAL STRATEGIC OPTION FOR AN EFFECTIVE ROMANIAN LOCAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Based on the fact that governance is referring to the processes of governing which includes all public management organizations, the paper contains some opinions of the specialists concerning governance and integrated governance concept. In this context an integrated governance model is presented like an real alternative for the local public administration system. Several activities for the integrated governance implementation process are explained in the content of the paper. Various level of the integration processes are presented and the relations between the components are part of the paper. Effect of Eleutherine americana Merr. bulb extract on blood pressure and heart rate in anesthetized hypertensive rats

The effect of ethanolic extract of Eleutherine americana Merr. on the blood pressure and heart rate has been investigated. A number of 25 Sprague-Dawley male rats were induced with prednisone 1.5 mg/kg in combination with saline solution 2.5% for 14 days to obtain hypertension model. The rats were anesthetized and prepared for the recording of blood pressure and heart rate. The rats were divided into five groups receiving 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg of the extract, vehicle control, and captopril 30 mg/kg as the reference. The treatment was administered three times with 30 minutes interval. The systolic (SBP), diastolic (DBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate (HR) were recorded. The data were analyzed with two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s MRT (95% confidence interval). The study revealed that the extract exhibited a blood pressure lowering effect. The best antihypertensive activity of the extract was shown by the dose of 100 mg/kg. Meanwhile, HR was also affected inversely by the treatment, in which the lowest dose caused the highest increase. The Dynamics and Economic Impact of the Cultural Event “La Notte Bianca Romana”

This paper analyzes the cultural and artistic event “La Notte Bianca Romana”, which has been designed and realized by the Municipality of Rome. It consists in a territorial marketing tool to promote the “Eternal City” all over the world. This event turned out to be an important incentive to the economic and entrepreneurial development of the city, putting in relationship very important issues like “economic growth”, “quality of life”, “social development”. Our work aims to show that, by correctly implementing the strategies designed by the Municipality of Rome (the strategic coordinator of the event), all the actors in the system may have good chances in successfully developing the potentialities of this cultural event, both in terms of participation and territorial and temporal expansion, with positive social and economic downfalls on the territory.System Dynamics; Cultural Network; Strategic Management; Local Government

Marketing competition on a new product introduction - a structural analysis using systems thinking

Launching a new product on the market is a strategic activity that needs specific investments and a specific organisation. There are multiple factors that determine the success of a new product on the market but their direct effects are not often very well observable (marketing for example). With this study, we analysed the systemic structure underlying the dynamics related to the introduction of a new product on the market. In particular, we built a qualitative model based on the systems thinking methodology of causal-loop diagrams (CLDs), starting from the main structure and assumptions of the well-known Bass model. The model provides a systemic perspective on the interdependencies among various aspects that interact in important organisational areas.
