Decentralization, identity construction, and conflict : education under Aceh's special autonomy : a dissertation presented in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand
This study contributes to the existing literature on decentralization by exploring the relationship between decentralization, identity construction and conflict in the context of decentralization reform in Indonesia. Using the concept of bottom-up autonomy as its theoretical lens, this study explores the impact of political decentralization on the autonomy of Aceh and examines the notion that autonomy can contribute to peaceful management of intra-state conflict. The study involves research into education stakeholders in the two districts of Aceh and uses the qualitative methods of pairwise ranking, semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis.
More specifically, the impact of decentralization on the autonomy of Aceh is investigated through perceived changes in three areas of education: the curriculum, the structure, and the financing of education. The results demonstrate that the autonomy agreed between Aceh and the Indonesian government has contributed to extensive bottom-up autonomy for Aceh by accommodating the distinct identity of the Acehnese and by providing a political framework for local empowerment. Through providing frameworks for the accommodation of local identity and for local empowerment, the form of bottom-up autonomy resulting from political decentralization has offered negotiated avenues for managing intra-state conflict peacefully. These frameworks have hopefully created common ground for both parties to sustain peace.
However, this study also revealed that there is potential for internal discontent within Aceh society as a result of perceived unequal access to resources. This study does not, therefore, emphatically conclude that political decentralization necessarily reduces conflict. Instead, this research suggests that political decentralization which results in extensive bottom-up autonomy may be a tool for promoting a more peaceful management of conflict between regions and the central state than would otherwise be possible

Salah satu upaya untuk menurunkan AKI (Angka Kematian Ibu) dengan melaksanakan Program Perencanaan Persalinan dan Pencegahan Komplikasi (P4K) dalam wujud kegiatan tabulin dan dasolin yang difasilitasi bidan desa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor â faktor yang berhubungan dengan kinerja bidan desa sebagai fasilitator dalam kegiatan dasolin dan tabulin pada program P4K di Kabupaten Sumenep Tahun 2014.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan design cross sectional.Variabel bebas(umur, status perkawinan, pendidikan, pengetahuan, pengalaman, motivasi dan supervisi), variabel terikat (kinerja bidan desa). Jumlah sampel 90bidan desa yang berada di 30 puskesmas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis bivariat dengan uji chi-square dan analisis multivariat dengan uji regresi logistik.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa responden memiliki kinerja kurang (30%), umur muda (31,1%), status perkawinan tidak menikah (24,4%), pendidikan kurang (42,2%), pengetahuan kurang (35,6%) pengalaman kurang (77,8%), motivasi kurang (26,7%), supervisi kurang (24,4%) pada pengelolaan kegiatan tabulin dan dasolin diwilayah kerjanya.
Ada hubungan positif antara pengetahuan ( p = 0,019)dan supervisi (p = 0,037) terhadap kinerja bidan desa sebagai fasilitator dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan tabulin dan dasolin pada program P4K.Ada pengaruh bersama â sama antara pengetahuan (p=0,07) dan Supervisi ( p= 0,013) terhadap kinerja bidan desa sebagai fasilitator dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan tabulin dan dasolin pada program P4K. Disarankan kepada Dinas kesehatan beserta pihak puskesmas dan IBI untuk mengadakan pelatihan dan workshop atau sosialisasi kepada bidan desa mengenai program P4K khususnya kegiatan dasolin dan tabulin.

Factors Relating to Performance and Social Fund for Delivery on a Delivery Planning and Complication Prevention Program (P4K) in District of Sumenep in 2014

One of the efforts to decrease maternal mortality rate (MMR) was an implementation of a delivery planning and complication prevention program (P4K) in activities of delivery motherâs saving and social fund for delivery conducted by village midwives. The aim of this study was to analyse factors relating to performance of a village midwife as a facilitator in the activities of delivery motherâs saving and social fund for delivery on the P4K in District of Sumenep in 2014.
This was an analytic-observational study using a cross-sectional approach. Independent variables consisted of age, marital status, education, knowledge, experience, motivation, and supervision and a dependent variable was performance of village midwives. Number of samples were 90 village midwives working at 30 health centres. Data collection used a structured questionnaire that had been performed tests of validity and reliability. Furthermore, data were analysed using methods of bivariate (Chi-Square test) and multivariate (Logistic Regression test).
The results of this research showed that respondents had low performance (30%), young age (31.1%), not married (24.4%), low education (42.2%), low knowledge (35.6%), low experience (77.8%), low motivation (26.7%), and low supervision (24.4%) in managing the activities of delivery motherâs saving and social fund for delivery at their work areas.
Variables of knowledge (p=0.019) and supervision (p=0.037) statistically significantly related to the performance of village midwives. These two variables jointly influenced the performance of village midwives with p values= 0.07 and 0.013 respectively. District Health Office, Health Centre, and Indonesian Midwives Association need to conduct training, workshop, or socialisation to village midwives regarding the P4K particularly the activities of delivery motherâs saving and social fund for delivery.

Analisis Kemampuan Mahasiswa PGMI STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan dalam Merancang RPP Tematik
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan dalam merancang RPP Tematik, dan mendeskripsikan kendala yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan dalam merancang RPP Tematik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah semester IV yang mengikuti mata kuliah Perencanaan dan Strategi Pembelajaran sebanyak 31 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data melului dokumentasi dan wawancara. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan teknis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan dalam merancang RPP Tematik pada mata kuliah Strategi dan Perencanaan Pembelajaran dikategorikan âCukup Baikâ dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 60,9 dan kendala yang dihadapi mahasiswa selama merancang RPP Tematik diantaranya ialah perumusan indikator pencapaian kompetensi (IPK), perumusan tujuan pembelajaran, memilih metode, media dan sumber belajar, kegiatan pembelajaran, dan penilaian
Developing Vocabulary Materials for Teaching Learning Process
Language instruction has five important components that they are students, a teacher, materials, teaching methods and evaluation. Teaching materials should help the students to learn or as a part of the class activities of instruction learning in the class. The materials should help the teacher and the students. Ideally, teaching materials will be tailored to the content in which they are being used, to the students in whose class they are being used, and the teacher. Teaching materials come in many shapes and sizes, but they all in common the ability to support students learning. So, teaching materials can support students learning and increase studentsâ success. Hence, instructional materials for effective teaching. The quality of those materials is a valuable skill that the teacher must be mastered. The materials chosen in teaching learning include textbook that extent to which a curriculum that will involve teacher made material, which content of additional activities and exercises, handouts, charts, review sheets, etc
Peran Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab dalam Melestarikan Tradisi Puasa Dalail Khairat di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir
Artikel ini bermaksud memberikan gambaran tentang Eksistensi tradisi Puasa Dalail Khairat serta peran Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab dalam melestarikan tradisi Syafaâatu Thulab di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Dalam mengumpulkan data, penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, interview dan Dokumentasi, Dalam melaksanakan analisis ini peneliti menggunakan reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penulis memperoleh fakta bahwa Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab merupakan salah satu Pondok Pesantren salafiyah yang masih mempertahankan tradisi-tradisi kepesantrenan yang berbasis kitab kuning. Salah satu kitab yang fenomenal karena menjadi bacaan dan wirid bagi pengamal puasa dahr (puasa tahunan) yakni Kitab Dalail Khairat karangan Syaikh Sulaiman al-Jazuli. Sehingga puasanya sendiri disebut puasa Dalail Khairat. Pelaksanaan Puasa Dalail Khairat di Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab sudah ada sejak Pondok Pesantren ini didirikan. Tradisi puasa ini merupakan bagian dari kurikulum informal yang menjadi identitas dari pesantren tersebut. Kegiatan Ijazah Kubro pada 7 Syuro setiap tahunnya adalah bagian upaya Pesantren melestarikan Tradisi Puasa Dalail Khairat ini, dan tercatat bahwa peserta pengamal puasa di Pesantren ini merupakan pengamal terbanyak se-Indonesia. Eksistensi tradisi puasa Dalail Khairat masih bisa dijumpai di Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab. Pondok Pesantren Syafaâatu Thulab merupakan pesantren satu-satunya di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir yang melestarikan tradisi puasa ini. Pengamal puasanya ini tidak hanya berasal dari santri pesantren, namun juga masyarakat desa dan luar daerah Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, seperti Kota Prabumulih, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin dan lainnya. AN INVESTIGATION OF INDONESIAN STUDENTSâ ABILITY IN PRODUCING THE THIRD PERSON SINGULAR /S/ IN SPEAKING
This study examined the ability of Indonesian students in producing the third person /s/ in speaking. Seven respondents were presented with two speaking tasks and questions related to their daily activity and picture descriptions. Overall, results showed that the majority of the respondents were able to produce agreement in speaking, although only five respondents could produce agreement correctly above 30%. Therefore, the study suggested that strategies other than speaking should be examined if they could better facilitate studentsâ production of the third person singular /s/.
In the last decade, psycho linguistics has shown strong interest in the production of subject-verb agreement. Several studies have identified the types of errors that most frequently occur in language production. These studies report observations on agreement errors in oral English (Haskel &
Macdonald 2005; Hartsuiker & Barkhusyen 2006; Johnson, Villiers
& Seymour 2005; Johnson 2005), written French (Hupet, Fayol & Schelstraete 1998; Fayol, Hupet
&Largy 1999; Largy & Fayol 2001) and written German (Hemforth & Konieczny 2003). One example of a study which observed agreement errors in oral English was conducted by Haskel and
Macdonald (2005). They examined agreement with disjunctive subjects which contained plurality nouns (singular-plural noun and plural- singular noun, e.g. have/has the president or the senators read the documents yet?). The research proved that in relation to agreement with disjunctions like
âthe president or the senatorsâ, English speakers tend to prefer a verb form that agrees with the nearer of the two nouns (Haskel & Macdonald, 2005).
An investigation of working memory affecting the production of agreement errors in speaking was conducted by Hartsuiker & Barkhusyen (2006). To manipulate the availability of working memory, half of the participants had to remember the list of words while performing the primary (load condition) and half of the others performed the primary task without a memory load. All participants were given the speaking span test and had to perform under specific time constraints. The researchers
assumed that agreement errors would occur more frequently in the load condition than in the no-load condition. In this study, there were 64 subjects from the University of Nijmegen participating; they were all native speakers of Dutch. In the presentation of the speaking span test in the load condition, the participants were presented with an adjective (e.g. large) that was followed by a sentence fragment (e.g. the cup for the winners). In the no-load condition, the adjective and sentence fragment were presented at the same time. Then, the participants were instructed to repeat and complete each fragment so they berita terkini indonesia had a full sentence, using the adjective (e.g. the cup for the winners was large) before the deadline. In this experiment, the result confirmed the researchersâ hypothesis that agreement errors were more common in the load condition than in the no-load condition, and the errors occurred more frequently when the head noun was mismatched in the
number with the local noun (e.g. the colour on the canvasses).
Though there are many research studies on verb agreement, in my study, a different attempt was made to elicit the respondentsâ ability in producing the third person /s/ in speaking. I chose not to use complex subjects (which have plurality of the head noun and the local noun). I preferred obvious subjects, for example, âshe, he, the girl, the boyâ (from which the number of the subjects is clear). The goal of the study was to examine the ability of Indonesian students to produce third person singular /s/ in speaking. I analyzed only the productive of agreement markers (there is /s/ inflection), such as, she walks, the girl works, he cleans. In conjunction with this stated purpose, the following research questions guide the current study:
1. Do advanced learners produce third person /s/ in speaking?
2. How well do they produce the third person /s/ in speaking
THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHERSââŹâ˘ CREATIVITY DEVELOPMENT IN ENGLISH TEACHING PRACTICES
This study investigates teachersââŹâ˘ views on the role of technology in building their creativity during teaching practices within the context of Indonesian higher education. An exploratory mixed methods design was employed by interviewing 20 EFL teachers about the role of technology in teachersââŹâ˘ creativity and administering a creativity questionnaire to 175 teachers. The findings revealed that teachers are aware of the importance of technology in creativity. Technology appears to help them explore their creativity and encourages learnersââŹâ˘ creativity in a way that it helps transfer their creativity into reality, makes the activities more authentic, and provides teaching materials on various topics. However, there is no clear evidence about how these teachers use technology in their actual classrooms. In general, the way in which technology was utilized in teaching was limited and largely influenced by other factors, such as teachersââŹâ˘ willingness to learn, studentsââŹâ˘ participation, frequent interaction, and cooperation. This implies the need for future research to investigate the creative pedagogy of technology use in the classroom to contribute to improving classroom practices with regard to creativity and technology use
THE INTEGRATION OF FAMILY CENTRED NURSING AND TANNAHILâS MODEL TOWARD FAMILYâS ABILITIES TO CONTROL TEENAGERSâ RISKY SEXUAL BEHAVIORS IN BANGKALAN
Introduction:Risky sexual deviations (paraphilias) are heterosexual vaginal coitus with partners who do not want pregnancy and who do not use contraceptive methods without marital status. Nowadays, prevalence increasingly rises and result in worrying effects. This research was aimed to prove the effects of integration of family centered nursing and Tannahilâs model on familyâs abilities to control teenagersâ risky behaviors.Method:This research used a quasy experiment, control group pretest-posttest design. Research subject was the parents who had 10th and 11th grade-teenagers having lovers and having been invited to consoling teachers due to their behaviors, in SMA in Bangkalan. Sample consisted of 45 experiment group and 45 control group. Sample used purposive sampling technique. Result:The result indicated that there was difference of before and after treatment with value of familyâs abilities (p=0,00), teenagersâ self control (p=0,00), knowledge (p=0,00), teenagersâ activities (p=0,00), searching patterns of information access (p=0,04), and success commitment for group behaviors (p=0,003).Conclusion: It meant that there were effects of integration of family centered nursing and Tannahilâs model on familyâs abilities to control teenagersâ risky behaviors.It is suggested that public health center establish partnership program among nurses, families and teenagers to create comfortable environment full of protection for teenagers so that the teenagers will not make outside environment to look for solutions.

APPROPRIATE AND INAPPROPRIATE USES OF HUMOR BY TEACHERS AND THE EFFECT OF IT IN LEARNING
This study investigated the studentsâ view of the appropriate and inappropriate use of humor in the classroom and the effect of it in studentsâ learning. There were 20 postgraduate students participating in the study, and they were asked to list several examples of suitable and unsuitable use of humor in the classroom and consider the effect of humor in the learning. The result informed that joking about sexual matters, religion, sexist issues, racism, appearance, sarcasm, ethnicity and cultural value was claimed as inappropriate humor, and 83% of students commented that these types of humor had a negative impact on their learning. However, humor related to the topic being taught, cartoons, funny stories, puns, language mistakes was perceived as appropriate, and 94% of them believed that these types of humor affect positively in the learning
Peran KH. Ahmad Dumyati Dalam Keagamaan Di Desa Seribandung Tahun 1960-1996 M
This study describes the role of KH. Ahmad Dumyati in Religious Social Life in Seribandung Village, Ogan Ilir Regency in 1379-1416 H/1960-1996 M. KH. Ahmad Dumyati is the second mudir at the Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam Seriandung. Apart from a mudir KH. Ahmad Dumyati is a religious figure from Seribandung Village, he is a kiai who is active in preaching using the cawisan method. KH. Ahmad Dumyati is a preacher and is also active in organizational careers, both educational and political organizations. KH. Ahmad Dumyati himself was appointed a member of the DPRD / TK I South Sumatra in 1971.Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan mengenai peran KH. Ahmad Dumyati dalam Kehidupan Sosial Keagamaan di Desa Seribandung Kabupaten Ogan Ilir tahun 1379-1416 H/1960-1996 M. KH. Ahmad Dumyati merupakan seorang mudir kedua di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam Seriandung. Selain seorang mudir KH. Ahmad Dumyati merupakan seorang tokoh agama yang berasal dari Desa Seribandung, beliau merupakan seorang kiai yang aktif dalam berdakwah dengan menggunakan metode cawisan. KH. Ahmad Dumyati merupakan sosok pendakwah dan juga aktif dalam karir organisasi, baik organisasi pendidikan dan politik. KH. Ahmad Dumyati sendiri pernah diangkat menjadi anggota DPRD/TK I Sumsel pada tahun 1971
