A study on localization of propeller noise source from tip vortex cavitation using machine learning

학위논문(석사) -- 서울대학교대학원 : 공과대학 조선해양공학과, 2022. 8. 성우제.프로펠러에서 발생한 캐비테이션 소음은 선박 수중방사소음의 주요 원인으로 특히 군함의 경우 잠수함에 의한 피탐 성능에 영향을 미친다. 이러한 캐비테이션의 발생을 지연시키거나 최소화하기 위해 설계단계부터 프로펠러의 성능을 추정하고 공동터널에서 모형 프로펠러 시험을 수행하고 있다. 기존에 수행된 연구에서 프로펠러 상부 선체에 센서를 매립하여 수중음향 분야에서 음원의 위치 추정 또는 환경인자 역산에 사용되는 기법을 적용해 캐비테이션의 위치를 추정하였다. 실험에서 총 6개의 음향센서를 사용했으며 음향센서 수량 감소에 따른 위치 추정 영향 검토 결과 음향센서 4개까지는 비교적 정확한 위치 추정이 가능했으나 3개의 센서를 이용한 경우 정확도가 현저히 낮아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 음향센서를 이용한 캐비테이션 위치 추정기법을 실선에 적용하기 위해서는 매립 과정 및 비용 등을 고려할 때 매립되는 센서 수량을 최소화하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구에서 낮은 정확도를 나타낸 3개의 음향센서를 이용한 캐비테이션 위치 추정기법에 최근 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있는 순방향 신경망 학습 기법을 적용하여 위치 추정 성능을 향상시키고자 하였다. 3개의 센서 데이터에 순환신경망 모델을 적용한 결과 기존의 정합장 역산 기법보다 정확한 위치를 추정할 수 있었다.The cavitation noise generated from propellers is a major cause of underwater radiated noise in ships, and especially in the case of naval ships, it is closely related to the possibility of detection by submarines. Therefore, from the design stage, the required performance of the propeller is estimated, and a model propeller test is performed in a common tunnel. In the previous study, the location of cavitation was estimated by embedding the sensor in the upper hull of the propeller and applying the matching field processing technique used for estimating the source localization in the underwater acoustic field or inverting environmental factors. In order to apply the cavitation localization technique using the acoustic sensor to real ships, it is necessary to minimize the number of sensors to be installed on the hull in consideration of the process and cost. An Anthropological Analogy between Urban Pubs and Savage Traps

이 연구는 도시의 술집이 안팎으로 사람들을 홀리며 작동하는 원리를 야생의 덫과 유비해 분석함으로써 과학적으로 쓸모없어 보이는 유비의 큰 쓸모를 인류학적으로 제안하고 증명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 덫에 설계된 공백은 사냥꾼과 사냥감의 원초적 굶주림이 투기적 기다림으로 충돌하는 마술적 시공간이다. 공백이 사라지는 포획의 순간 서로 다른 사냥꾼과 사냥감은 서로 닮은 사냥꾼과 사냥감으로 함께 거듭난다. 이 야생의 논리를 이유 없이 도시로 끌어들이면 익명의 손님들을 빨아들이기 위해 불확실성이 가득한 거리로 문을 열어두는 술집의 생존 전략을 덫의 원격 작용과 굳이 묶어 설명하는 이유를 해명할 수 있게 된다. 도시의 서로 다른 사람들은 술과 함께 황홀한 술집에서 서로 닮은 인류로 거듭난다. This essay aims to anthropologically propose and prove the alluring operational principles shared between savage traps and urban pubs via analogy. Although analogy is often misunderstood as the mode of thought of primitive prescientific societies, its inevitable fallibility paradoxically has potentiality to open a new frontier between magic and science. The emptiness designed in a trap is a magical spatiotemporal zone where the primal hunger of the hunter and the prey speculatively collides. In the moment of capture, the emptiness disappears, and the two different living things transform together into analogues of each other. By creatively drawing this logic of the wild into the city, it becomes possible to elucidate the reason behind the connection between the action at a distance of traps and the survival tactics of urban pubs. In the psychedelic atmosphere of the pub which opens its doors to streets full of uncertainty, people with different paths of life transform into similar beings by the magic of alcohol

Body-Speculation: An Anthropological Ethnography on Becoming a Boxer

학위논문 (석사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 인류학과 인류학전공, 2015. 8. 황익주.본 논문은 사람들은 왜 굳이 맞고 때려가면서 권투를 하는가?라는 질문에 대해 연구자가 몸소 권투선수되기의 과정을 경험함으로써 응답해나가는 한 편의 인류학적 민족지이다. 그리고 이 과정을 거치면서 연구자는 점점 권투선수가 되어 가는 동시에 체육관사람이 되어 간다. 결과적으로 논문은 세 가지 서로 다른 층위의 연구대상인, 물질로서의 권투체육관, 물질에 깃든 혼으로서의 세계챔피언이라는 꿈, 물질과 혼 사이를 가로지르는 체육관사람들의 몸을 인류학적으로 분석하고 해석한 후 종합한다. 우선, 권투체육관의 물질성은 권투체육관에서 권투를 하는 사람들의 사고와 행동에 무의식적으로 영향을 미치는 외부환경이자 물질문화이다. 이러한 맥락에서 권투체육관의 마루가 기본기를 비롯한 권투의 모든 기술들을 의식적으로 몸에 새겨 넣는 물질적 토대라면, 권투체육관의 링은 실전에서 싸우기 위한 실전에 가까운 연습인 스파링을 통해 혼자만의 단련이 아닌 둘 사이의 상호작용 속에서 무의식적인 몸동작의 현실화를 체험하는 또 다른 물질적 토대이다. 그리고 권투의 최종목적이 결국 나의 주먹으로 상대방의 상반신을 가격하는 것이라고 할 때, 빽이라는 또 하나의 인공시설물은 마루와 링 못지않게 중요한 권투체육관의 물질적 토대가 된다. 한편, 연구의 대상이자 현장인 권투체육관의 독특한 사회구조는 그곳의 역사와 정체성을 물질성으로부터 출발해 해명하는 과정을 통해 발견된다. 권투체육관의 사회구조는 권투선수와 일반인의 일상적 마주침을 강제하고 권투선수로 하여금 머리가 신선할 것을 지속적으로 요구한다. 다음으로, 권투체육관 내부의 물질성에 주목했던 논문은 권투체육관 외부에서 벌어지는 프로권투경기의 상황으로 시선을 돌린다. 프로권투는 일종의 심층놀이이다. 프로권투란 세계챔피언을 꿈꾸는 권투이고 그렇기 때문에 절실한 프로권투선수는 세계챔피언이라는 꿈을 실현하기 위해 계속 싸워야만 하지만 현실적/구조적으로 그 꿈은 결국 깨어지기 마련이다. 프로권투는 일종의 자살게임이다. 사실상 대부분 비극으로 끝나는 이 투기가 그럼에도 불구하고 지속되는 이유는 역설적으로 그것이 매우 달성하기 어려운 비현실적인 꿈이기 때문이다. 오히려 권투하는 사람들에게 중요한 것은 도전하는 과정 그 자체에서만 지각할 수 있는 구체적인 사건들이다. 한편, 프로권투의 형식은 희생제의의 그것과 매우 유사하다. 사각의 링은 오염된 일상의 영역으로부터 깨끗함을 구별하고 그 깨끗함을 묶어서 모아두는 일종의 희생제의의 제단으로 형식화되어 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 프로권투선수는 희생제의에 참여하는 희생주체이자 희생제물로서 불사의 몸에 대한 열망을 적극적으로 드러내기 위해 체중감량을 하고, 희생제의의 궁극적 목적인 성과 속의 합일을 달성하기 위해 자신의 몸을 직접 내던진다. 마지막으로, 논문은 권투체육관 외부로 향했던 시선을 다시 권투체육관 내부로 돌린다. 그리고 그곳에서 실제로 함께 땀을 흘리며 길들여지고 있는 체육관사람들의 몸을 발견한다. 즉, 권투체육관에서 물적 조건과 사회적 가치를 공유하는 체육관사람들은 서로의 몸을 맞부딪침으로써 서로를 길들인다. 그것은 나의 몸과 또 다른 나의 몸을 상호주관적으로 연결하고 변형함으로써 몸의 관계를 만들어 나가는 됨의 과정이다. 그리고 이 열린 과정의 중심에 관계의 성공적인 개시와 호혜적 선순환이 전제된 상호 배움의 과정으로서의 몸투기가 자리하고 있다. 링 위에서 때때로 현실화되는 성공적인 몸투기의 순간, 서로의 몸은 서로의 몸을 향해 활짝 열리고 권투의 본질인 폭력은 쾌의 경험으로 변환된다. 결과적으로, 연구자는 권투선수되기의 과정을 거치면서 권투체육관의 구체적인 몸의 기술들과 몸의 지식들을 체현할 뿐만 아니라 권투체육관에 감정적으로 애착을 갖는 체육관사람이 되어 간다.This thesis is a piece of anthropological ethnography answering the question that Why do people do boxing in the face of violent extremism. Growing through experiencing a process of becoming a boxer, the researcher becomes a boxer as well as a member of the gym. As the final outcome, it proposes three different layers of subjects, and synthesizes them: 1) A boxing gym as material. 2) A dream of being world champion as spirit carved into material. 3) A boxer's body crossing between material and spirit. At first, materiality of the gym is external environment and material culture affecting boxers' thinking-behavior unconsciously. In this context, the gym floor makes people acquire fundamental body techniques individually, whereas the ring makes people experience actualization of unconscious body movements in an intersubjective way. Also, the heavy bag is no less important than two artefacts, considering the purpose of boxing is eventually striking a opponent's upper body with clenched fists. Meanwhile, a unique social structure is found through the process of unravelling the history and identity of the gym from materiality. It, then, forces mundane encounters between boxers and non-boxers, and consistently requires boxers to keep their heads fresh. Next, the researcher turns his eyes from the gym to the outside boxing world, where professional boxing, or prizefighting, is a kind of deep play. In this situation, what an earnest professional boxer dreams of is being a world champion. He/she, therefore, should continue to fight to realize the dream, but it can hardly be realized structurally, i.e., most of their dream actually end in tragedy. Professional boxing is a kind of suicide game. Nevertheless, the speculation for the dream goes on and on because, paradoxically, it can hardly be realized. In other words, the most important thing to boxers is how it is perceived at specific events in the process of challenging itself. A form of professional boxing, meanwhile, is very similar to that of sacrifice. A squared ring distinguishes purity from the realm of everyday life, and keeps it tied up to function as an altar. In this context, a boxer becomes a victim as well as a sacrifier for the ritual by transforming his/her reduced body into an immortal body passionately. Moreover, he/she projects his/her body for himself/herself to achieve the ultimate goal of sacrifice, the unity of the sacred and the secular. The researcher finally turns back inside the gym, and discovers bodies of members constantly sweating. They have been taming each other and tamed into the gym because they shares material conditions and social values. It is a process of becoming that links and transforms my body to the other body intersubjectively, i.e., it generates body-relatedness. Body-Speculation, furthermore, is located in the center of this opentype process which a successful initiation and a reciprocal virtuous cycle are the prerequisite to. In a moment of the successful body-speculation actualized on the ring sometimes, each body is wide open to each other, and the nature of boxing, violence, is converted into the experience of pleasure.
