시연 기반 진동 패턴 저작 방법
Master최근의 다양한 기기들, 특히 휴대용 기기들에서 진동 렌더링의 중요함이 부각되고 있음에도 불구하고, 이러한 진동 패턴의 설계를 용이하게 해주는 저작 도구는 그다지 개발되어 있지 않다.그 중에서 가장 최근에 소개된 진동 패턴 설계의 개념은 미국의 애플사가 iOS5에서 선보인 것으로 터치 스크린 상에서의 간단한 동작만으로 진동 패턴을 저작하는 것이다.하지만 이 방법은 현재 진동의 시간 길이만 조작 가능하다.따라서 우리는 사용자의 터치 움직임을 바탕으로 진동 패턴을 생성할 수 있는 시연 기반 진동 패턴 저작 방식을 제안하였다.이 시연 기반 저작 방식은 터치 스크린 상에서의 터치 움직임으로 진동의 세 가지 요소인 시간 길이, 진폭 그리고 주파수를 조절할 수 있다.또한 우리는 시연 기반 방식과 기존의 파형 기반 방식을 비교하여 두 방식의 사용성을 알아보았다.이 실험을 위하여 우리는 터치 스크린 상에서의 새로운 형태의 파형 기반 방식 진동 패턴 저작 도구를 제작하였다.실험 결과, 비록 시연 기반 방식이 패턴을 설계하는 상황에 따라 몇 가지 단점을 가지고 있기는 하지만, 파형 기반 방식에 비해 일반인들이 쉽고 재미있게 사용할 수 있을 것이라는 결론을 내렸다.특히 시연 기반 방식은 음악에 맞는 진동 패턴을 만드는데 특히 좋을 것으로 생각된다.Despite the importance of vibrotactile rendering in a variety of devices, especially in mobile devices, few software tools that can facilitate vibrotactile pattern design have been developed. Most recent concept of the vibrotactile pattern design is producing patterns from simple motions on a touch screen: Apple Inc. released this type of editor in iOS5, but it only controls a vibration duration. Therefore, we propose a demonstration-based vibrotactile pattern authoring method, that the device generates vibrotactile patterns by imitating the touch input from the user.Our demonstration-based authoring method can control three major vibration properties - duration, amplitude and frequency - based on the user's touch motions on a touch screen.We also investigated the usability of our demonstration-based method and compared it with a conventional waveform-based method.For this experiment, we developed a new style of waveform-based editor for a touch screen.Although our demonstration-based method has several disadvantages depending on the type of designing task, the results showed that the demonstration-based method is funnier and easier to use by typical users than the waveform-based method.Moreover, it is especially good for creating a vibration pattern well matched to music
Muscle Intoxication of 'Gukmeri-bok' Puffer (Takifugu vermicularis radiatus) by Freezing and Thawing
We here report that the muscle of ‘gukmeri-bok’ puffer fish (Takifugu vermicularis radiatus) is intoxicated after freezing and thawing processes even though it is not toxic when it is fresh. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different freezing and thawing conditions as well as the effect of the presence of skin or viscera on the intoxication of muscle of ‘gukmeri-bok’ puffer during freezing and thawing process. As a result of this investigation, thawing condition, but not freezing conditions or periods played an important role in muscle intoxication. Tetrodotoxin secretory grands exist in the skin of toxic puffer fish, the skin was more responsible for the muscles intoxication than the viscera during the freezing-thawing process. In other words, no toxicity was measured in the muscle of skinned-frozen specimens even when thawed. According to this result, it is recommended that the skin and viscera must be removed before being frozen for edible purpose. Otherwise, when a whole fish should be frozen, alternative half-thawing and removal of skin from frozen specimens is recommended.22Nkc
Population Studies on the Kelp Ecklonia cava and Eisenia bicyclis in Dokdo, Korea
The vertical distribution, density and biomass, population composition, and morphometric parameters of the kelp Ecklonia cava and Eisenia bicyclis were investigated in the subtidal zone of Dokdo during the summer of 2000. In most area, Ecklonia cava occurred in the depth range from 2 m to 10 m, and showed the highest density and biomass at 5 m. Ecklonia cava also occurred from 2 m, but its vertical limit was extended to deeper than 25 m. In addition, E. cava formed the conspicuous belt in depth range from 10 to 25 m, with the highest density and biomass between 15 and 20 m. The density and biomass of E. cava in its vertical distribution range were 3.0 to 372.2 inds m super(-2) and 1.2 to 21.6 kg wwt m super(-2), whereas those of Eisenia bicyclis were 6.6 to 117.5 inds m super(-2) and 7.6 to 29.0 kg wwt m super(-2). The average length and wet weight of E. cava were 26.0 ± 32.7 cm and 64.0 ± 160.8 g, and those of E. bicyclis were 34.2 ± 41.4 cm and 226.8 ± 465.7 g. Total biomass of E. bicyclis in Dokdo was as high as 1,686.7 M/T wet weight, and that of E. bicyclis was 570.4 M/T wet weight. The length frequency distributions of two species were positively skewed due to the massively recruited juveniles and their subsequent growth. This means that the populations of these two species could be well maintained. Both species exhibited the significant direct regressions of stipe length, branch legth, blade length, blade width and body weight to frond length (r super(2) > 0.91, p < 0.001). This method is composed of two parts, namely fault isolation procedure and test generation procedure. The fault isolation procedure uses the violated expectation approach. In this step we generate the suspect list of a fault. To determine a most probable suspect among suspects, we generate tests for each suspect in the suspect list. The test generation method is similar to the path-sensitization procedure (D-algorithm). We define the behavior and control rule of the RTLL primitives to propagate values and inference through RTLL construct. And temporal logic is used to specify the digital circuits. If a fault is detected, then we can diagnose the causes of a fault by detecting the discrepancy between the actual value of the circuit and the expected value obtained from the temporal logic specification and generating tests.
