    The grammatical education of Korean language for foreigners will be effective when it is done as a part of learning the ability of communication rather than when the existing education of grammatical forms is emphasized. For the effective grammatical education, the system of the educational contents of grammar should be established and the selection of grammar items for education be made. So far the relationship of Korean grammar for native speakers and Korean grammar for foreigners, the classification of Korean grammatical system, the grammatical units for learning and the method of grammatical description, etc. have been points at issue in some studies of Korean grammar for teaching. The Korean Grammar for Foreigners 1, 2 - Books if System and Umge newly issued by the National Institute of the Korean Language will contribute to systemizing and standardizing Korean {pedagogical grammar for foreigners, which has never had an unified system and a standardized book for its grammar. The purpose of this paper is to study how the main issues of the grammatical education are reflected and described in The Korean Grammar for Foreigners 1, 2 This job will be done in terms of the description and contents of grammar in Book of System and in terms of the selection and formation of entry words, the structure of the dictionary and the description of the grammatical contents in Book of Usage

    The purpose of this essay is to study the present conditions of the degree course (regular) and ron-degree course (irregular) for training Korean teachers. In addition, the aim is to propose an organized program useful for training and to institutionalize it. In the first part of the essay, the status of the systems to train Korean teachers is dealt and the systems are classified separately to doctorate course and ron-doctorate course. The number of courses in producing Korean teachers has sharply increased after the late 1990s. But most of the courses have been short term because they have, without sufficient discussion, opened in terms of pending need of teachers positions. The time has come that the training system should be little more organized and institutionalized. The program must be a professionaI education system to obtain a certificate of qualification after training. To establish an organized Korean teacher training and certification degree program , there are many problems that need to be solved : that is, the enactment of a relevant bill, the settlement of the dept responsible for the program, the enforcement of certificate issuance and qualification as a Korean teacher, the devisement of various training curriculum and the set up of an in-service training system All of these elements will be discussing in this essay

The result of the analysis showed that, in the aspect of the Selection of Grammar Items, there were not many grammar items shared between the textbooks, some of them lacking in the basic grammar elements. The result of this research also showed that, in the aspect of the Grading of Grammar Items, the tendency of grammar item sharing and grade compliance between the textbooks was lower in the intermediate and advanced-level grammar items than the beginning-level grammar items. The conclusion of this research is as follows; First, we need to establish the principles of the selection and grading of grammar items Second, we need to select Korean grammar items based on the educational grammar system. Third, we need to do researches on how to design the helically-structured syllabuses. Fourth, we need to do researches on the grammatical expressions that involve conversations. Finally, we need to do fundamental researches to secure the objectivity of the selection and grading of grammar items
