    Analysis of Effects of Social Studies Classes on 'Rational participation and communication in social media society ': Focused on the "Co-construction of social knowledge at Osan"

    This study suggests "Co-construction of Social Knowledge at Osan" as a new teaching and learning paradigm for social studies education and analyzes the effects of it. "CSK-O" is defined as a pedagogy that generates social knowledge based on a cooperation and recognition, under the premise of asymmetric ethics among the class community members. This study has developed lesson plan considering social media deeply related to the life of youths. The purpose of this study is to discover the context of change in student-student, teacher-student interaction, perception of learning subject and material, and identity of student and teacher through in-depth classroom observation and interviews.본 연구는 사회과교육의 새로운 교수-학습 패러다임으로서 사회지식 공동구성 수업을 제안하여 그 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 사회지식 공동구성 수업은 구성원 간의 비대칭적 상호 작용 윤리를 전제한 수업공동체 속에서 협력과 승인을 기반으로 사회지식을 공동으로 구성하는 수업을 말한다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 최근 청소년의 삶과 밀접한 소셜미디어와 관련된 수업을 개발하였다. 이를 통해 학생-학생, 교사-학생 간의 상호작용, 학습 주제 및 자료에 대한 인식, 학생 및 교사의 정체성, 사회수업에 대한 인식의 변화 맥락을 교실수업 관찰과 심층 인터뷰를 통해 밝히고자 하였다

    다문화가정 학생에 대한 학교급 별 교육지원 방안 연구

    이 연구는 2010년 교육과학기술부 연구과제인 다문화가정 자녀의 학교급별 교육지원 방안 연구 의 내용을 요약하고 재구성하여 작성한 것임.This study aims to discover the demand and present condition of educational support for the students of multicultural families. Based on the findings of them, it also aims to suggest the educational support plan according to the school levels. For this purpose, analysis of the present educational support program for the students of multicultural families has been conducted. On top of that, analysis of the education support demand according to the school levels, and investigation on the present condition of educational support has been conducted as well. Educational support plan according to the school levels for the students of multicultural families has been suggested based on these findings. Suggestions presented in this study are as follows. At the kindergarten level, language education and culture education are required to lay the groundwork for the mutual understanding and communication as a member of society. At the elementary school level, general objective of educational support plan is similar to that of kindergarten level. But for the educational contents, school adaptation education at the elementary school level is required for the development of mutual understanding and communication in the frame of school institution, as well as the language education and culture education. At the middle school level, general career-education and identity education need to be emphasized. At the high school level, educational support related to academic achievement, as well as more detailed career-education, is required. By suggesting these differentiated educational support plan according to school levels, multicultural education of Korean society will be able to approach the school education and the students of multicultural families one step closer.이 연구는 다문화가정 학생들의 학교급 별 교육지원 요구와 현황의 특성을 밝히고, 이에 따른 학교급 별 교육지원 방안을 제안함을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 학생에 대한 교육지원 프로그램을 분석하고, 학교급 별 교육지원 요구를 파악하였으 며, 동시에 실제로 이루어지고 있는 교육지원의 현황을 조사하였다. 그런 다음 이를 바탕으로 학교급 별 지원방안이 제안되었다. 본 연구가 제안하고 있는 바는 다음과 같다. 유치원 급에서는 다문화가정 학생들이 공동체적 소통과 상호이해의 바탕을 마련할 수 있도록 언어교육과 문화교육이 중점적 으로 이루어져야 하며, 초등학교 급에서는 그 목표는 유치원 급과 비슷하지만, 교육 내용에서 언어교육 및 문화교육이 이루어짐과 동시에, 학교 제도에서 소통과 상호이해 를 더욱 진전시키기 위해 다문화가정 학생들에 대한 학교적응교육이 실시되어야 한다. 중학교 급에서는 다문화가정 학생들의 자아정체성 강화 교육과 일반적 수준의 진로직 업교육에 강조점을 둘 필요가 있다. 고등학교 급에서는 다문화가정 학생들의 학업성취 와 관련된 교육지원이 이루어져야하며, 구체적 수준의 진로직업교육과 관련하여 본격 적인 지원이 제공될 필요가 있다. 이러한 학교급 별 차별화된 교육지원 방안을 마련함 으로서 한국사회의 다문화교육은 다문화 학생과 학교교육에 한 걸음 더 다가갈 수 있 을 것이다

    A STUDY OF TEACHING-LEARNING INTERACTION IN THE HIGH SCHOOL ECONOMICS LESSON

    While recent researches on economic education and classroom interaction are interested in what works in practical level, this study is more focused on what is going on economic education lesson?" in analytically descriptive level. Through this study I tried to find out the answer to the questions: how does a Korean economic education lesson work?" and "what is the unique feature of learning interaction in a Korean economic education classroom?" To answer these questions, a micro-ethnographic research method was employed. Data collection consisted of classroom observation, audio & video recording and interviews with students and teachers at a senior high school in Seoul. Through this study, an important feature of a Korean economic education lesson was identified: the major occurrence of SPS-1 & SPS-3interaction patterns, inquiry through textbook, and even teacher-guided but student-considered lesson interaction. Also, several differences are found, compared with a junior high school economics lesson: for example, no occurrence of educational breakthrough. As a result of this study, it is expected that Korean economic education teachers and practioners will become more aware of what is going on classroom and what they are doing in their economics lesson. This awareness will be able to make better the Korean economic education lesson. Also, the view of lesson which this study addresses makes it possible to avoid the two extreme views of lesson as schooling: the social determinism and psychological determinism. This study examined what is actually going on inside school, in classrooms, on a practical everyday basis.     지금까지 교육 연한과 학력을 포함하는 교육 기회와 소득 분배 ('경제적 지위'의 획득으로 대표되는)의 관련성에 관한 연구는 많은 교육학자들의 관심사가 되어 왔다. 이것은 특히 교육 정책에 관심을 가진 사람들이나 교육사회 학자들에게는 중요한 연구 주제이기도 했다. 그리고 실제로 우리 나라뿐만 아니라 외국에서도 이에 관한 연구들이 활발히 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 이 주제에 관한 우리 나라의 많은 연구들은 구체적인 연구주제를 선정하거나 연구 방법을 개발하는 데에 미국에서 이루어진 연구들의 영향을 상당한 정도로 받고 있다. 이러한 사실은 '우리의 교육과 사회 현상에 대한 연구'라는 면에서 볼 때 하나의 커다란 결함을 지닐 수 있다. 즉 미국 사회의 사회적 틀을 바탕으로 한 연구가 과연 한국 사회의 현상 분석에 얼마나 적합할 수 있는가 하는 문제이다. 이는 또한 무엇을 연구의 중심으로 삼아야 할 것인가, 또는 같은 급(級)의 학교를 모두 같게 취급할 것인가 등의 문제들과도 관련될 것이다. 한편 교육과 경제적 지위의 획득 사이에 위치하는 노동시장에 관해서도 우리 나라의 노동시장에서 통하는 채용 규칙은 우리 나름의 제도-문화적 성격을 가질 수 있다는 점 등도 이와 관련하여 지적할 수 있을 것이다

    A Comparative Study on the Instructional Models about the Concept of Economic System

    The present study aims two parallel goals: to compare the effectiveness of three strategies for teaching the concept of economic system and to make some meaningful suggestions on the teaching of concepts in social studies. To be concrete, two main questions to be answered are as follows: First, What are the characteristics of teaching the concept of economic system?" Second, Which is the most appropriate instructional model considering the given characteristics?" To answer these questions, three experimental groups-attribute model, prototype model, social context model-are compared, with the control group using the conventional approach. The sample consists of 170 second-grade junior high school boys. The treatment for all groups is carried out over 2 weeks. The instrument used in the study is the economic system concept formation test. One-way ANOVA (four treatment conditions including a control group) results in significant effects. The results indicate that (a) the attribute model, the prototype model, and the social context model produce a significant greater test score than that of the conventional approach, and that (b) the social context model produces a significant greater test score than those of the others. As the implications of teaching the economic concept, this study suggests that (a) in teaching economic concept, the social context-centered approach is a good thing, and that (b) the consideration of epistemological characteristics of a concept is able to contribute greatly to a good concept-learning. Through this study, especially, we find that the characteristics of the concepts in social studies topics playa decisive role in the determination of the instructional model. This study will contribute to the improvement of the learning and instruction in a Korean economics lesson and make a new attempt at the instructional research

    A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF SOME DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES IN KOREAN STUDENTS' WORK ETHIC

    The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of some person and family variables in Korean students' work ethic. The contemporary theories in economic psychology area show that person and family variables determine more or less students' work ethic; labor ethic, employment-place ethic and labor-relationship. The study was designed as follows. Based on the above mentioned theoretical foundation, investigations on three arguments were performed; person and family variables will have an effect on (1) students' labor ethic, (2) employment-place ethic, and (3) labor-relationship. Based on the result of data analysis by using multiple-regression, above three hypotheses were accepted. The result of this study leads us to the following three suggestions for work ethic education in Korean secondary school. First, teaching work ethic for pre-college students is different from that for vocational school students. Second, teaching work ethic for female students is different from that for male students. Third, as those family variables-especially parent's psychological trends-have an effect on students' work ethic, we have to check students' preconceptions from their family ground for effective work ethic education.본 연구는 1993-1994년도 서울대학교 발전기금 레믹스 학술연구비 지원에 의해 이루어졌음을 밝힌다

    A Study on the Korean Citizenship and Its Expansion Path

    As the world goes into an individualized society, the developoment of citizenship is more emphasized nowadays than the past. It is also the case with Korea. This study is basically a demographic survey of the Korean citizenship and its expansion path. Korean citizenship appears to have changed dramatically since World War II. Traditionally Korean society had kept a Cofusianic belief system in which social good and moral law was accentuated in human interactions and at which scholars were respected more than farmers, artisans and trademen. A number of studies have attempted to establish demographic determinants, such as age, sex, socioeconomic status and some other factors, in the Korean citizenship and its expansion path. Some studies have found that the Korean citizenship and its expansion path are significantly related to age, social class, etc.. However, many studies found no significant relationship between sex and the citizenship. This study was designed to investigate the effects of some demographic variables on the Korean citizenship and its expansion path. The subjects were about 2,750 persons, 1/3 from Chunchon and the others from Seoul. Half the subjects were male and half female. They were divided into 5 age groups , 4 educational groups, 8 occupational groups and 4 income groups. The subjects were asked to answer 12 long questions containing the content of Koreans citizenship and expansion path. In the realtive agreement level of the questionnaire, a Likert type scale set was used. The questions attempted to survey subjects citizenship trends and its expansion path by demographic variables. Chi-square analyses were conducted to determine the variables that discriminated the responses concerning the Korean citizenship and its expansion path. The results can be summarized as follows. Unlike the traditional Korean society , the modem Korean society shows differences among demographic groups in their citizenship and its expansion paths. Age, occupation and educatin produced significant effects. However, Chunchon subjects demonstrated some degree of similarities among groups.     시민적 자질 함양을 위한 사범대학 사회교육과의 지향에 관한 연구

    As the environment of social education has been very much changed recently, it becomes necessary for a department of social education in college of education to reconize newly arisen wants and then to reform their systems and organizations. In the present study, we are going to deal with the following questions : What are the characteristics of research and practice social education? What are educational objectives and functions of the department of social edcation of the development for Korean society and for the changes in environment of college of education? What are actual conditions of department of social education and what are tasks for devlopment of the department of social education in the actual states? What are mid-term and long-term projects that a department of social education would have to overcome given restrictions and to make a significant improvement? This study relies mainly on presentations and discussion, as is most important the consensus among members of the department of social education. Then, this study stands for two basic lines as follows, along which the improvement will be made: (1) to adapt the department in changs of social education environment and to make contribution to social development (2) to approach to real aspects of education and to lead the practice in education. To show how department of social education will proceed to and attain the goal, this paper deals with aspects of system and organization, roles and functions, students, curriculum, faculty of leading actual education. In addition, it is shown that maximum efforts of the members of department and sufficient support of college authority are absolutely indispensable for the development of the department. Then, we may expect that the department of social education will make great contribution not only to the development of college of education and S.N.U. but also to properity of Korean societ
