This study is about the job satisfaction of middle school teachers according to their teaching experiences, academic degrees, and gender. In order to analyze this, Job satisfaction scale for teachers was developed, and five sub-donmains of Job satisfaction being Achievement, Main role, Working environment, Human relationship, and Compensation were determined through the literature review and interview. Data were collected from 278 middle school teachers in Seoul and Kyon-gi areas, and results are summarized as follows. It was found that there is statistically significant difference in teachers' job satisfaction based upon the level of teaching experiences, and academic degree, but no statistically significant differences based upon their gender. Especially the teacher group of 11 through 15 year teaching experiences, showed the lowest mean scores in Acheivement, Main role, and Human relationship among the five sub-domains. In contrast, the teacher group of over 21 teaching year scored the best in the three sub-domains, and showed difference among the other four groups of teaching experiences. The teacher group of B.A. scored higher than that of M.A. in the sub-domain of Main role. Even though this study had some limitations, the results suggest that political support such as improving the equipment in schools be necessary to enhance the job satisfaction and special concerns be taken to the teacher group with low job satisfaction through such as counseling, and group discussion
