A New Phase of Dwelling Reclaimed out of Homelessness in Toni Morrisons The Bluest Eye and Paradise

토니 모리슨(Toni Morrison)의 작품에서 집이라는 공간은 인종차별이 횡행하던 미국사회에서 흑인 개개인들이 치러야 했던 희생과 고난, 그리고 그 고난이 큰 만큼이나 절실했던 희망 품기의 구조적 등가물이라 할 수 있다. 집은 사람이 기거하는 장소(place)이며, 소유물(property)이기도하다. 근대 서구역사에서 소유물, 혹은 재산의 있고 없음이 정치적 의사결정권의 크기를 결정하는 중대요소였음을 고려한다면 소유물로서 집을 확보한다는 것은 정치적 권리와 긴밀하게 맞닿을 수밖에 없다. 다른 한편으로, 집은 사람이 모여 사는 거주공간이다. 집이 없는 상태는, 모여 살물리적 공간을 박탈당한 상태이므로 생존의 기본요건인 의식주의 중대 부분이 결여된 불행한 사태라 할 수 있다. 그러나 마틴 하이데거(Martin Heidegger)에 따르면 집이 없는 상태보다 더 큰 불행은, 집이 인간 삶과 동떨어진 건물로 대상화되어 인간과의 관계성을 잃게 된 현실이다. 1951년 발표된 그의 논문, ｢건물짓기 거주하기 생각하기｣(Building Dwelling Thinking)에서 그는 집없음(homelessness)이야말로 인간을 제대로 된 의미로 거주(dwelling)하도록 이끄는 유일한 호출이라고 주장한다. Toni Morrison has been concerned with the question of homelessness in the African-Americans experiences. Particularly her two novels, The Bluest Eye and Paradise probe into the conditions of being put outdoors. Characters in these two works, the Breedloves and the Convent women respectively, were helplessly driven outdoors. However, their eventual outdoor conditions turned out to be contrastingly different; the Breedloves were disastrously put outdoors through their internalization of white dominant values while the Convent women tried to establish, though not successfully, a self-reliant home. These two works investigate the possibility of dwelling, according to Heideggers terminology, in which man and place are integrated. Claudia and Connie are shown to be the responsible, compassionate builder of this kind of an integrated dwelling place. The authors homelessness narratives, thus, call into question our modern selfs ego-centric drive to produce the peripheral existences to build our being and place

Effects of the Conditions of a Rapid Thermal Process for CIGS Films on the Characteristics of CIGS Solar Cells

몰리브덴이 증착되어 있는 유리기판 위에 비정질 Cu(In,Ga)Se_2 (CIGS)박막을 동시증발 방법으로 증착한 후 급속열처리 과정을 거쳐결정화시켰다. 이때 급속열처리 환경이 박막의 성분비와 결정화 정도에미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 진공에서보다 상압에서의 열처리가 Se의소실은 줄이고, 결정 성장은 더 크게 만드는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고덮게 유리를 이용한 경우에는 Se의 소실은 줄일 수 있었지만 태양전지에사용할 정도로 결정성장이 충분히 되지 않는다는 것을 확인하였다. 이렇게 형성된 CIGS 박막들을 이용하여 AZO/ZnO/CdS/CIGS/Mo 구조의태양전지를 제작하고 특성을 확인하였다. CIGS 태양전지의 특성은 결정이크게 성장된 CIGS 박막을 이용한 태양전지에서 더 좋게 나왔으며, 덮게유리 없이 아르곤 가스가 흐르는 상압에서 열처리를 한 CIGS를 이용한태양전지 시료에서 가장 높은 에너지 변환효율인 4.0 %를 보여주었다.2
