Discourse, the growth of self, and language acquisition through a humanistic use of English literature
Given that the affective side of language learning contributes in a significant way to enriching learners language learning, this paper aims to propose the need for integrating a humanistic approach into both language learning process and language classroom. Exploring various benefits of using English literary works as language materials for promoting the humanistic approach, this paper suggests a major paradigmatic shift in the field of TEFL.
