8-ch Analog Beamformer Circuits for Ultrasound Imaging Systems
MasterThis research presents an 8-channel analog beamformer circuit. We used an analog beamformer to sum the ultrasound waves from the focal point. The implemented analog beamformer consists of sub-analog beamformer, switch clock generator, and multiplexer. Each sub-analog beamformer is dedicated to a single focal point. After the add operation, the sub-analog beamformer is allocated to another focal point in a time-interleaving manner. To efficiently store large amounts of delay profile information, coded clocks were employed for each channel. The switch clock generator was implemented using Verilog. Through this research a beamformer circuit was implemented using small hardware, which has future applications in in portable ultrasound machines and many-channel beamforming systems
