Establishment of Primary Colorectal and Paired Liver Metastatic Cancer Cell Lines from the Same Patients and Analysis of Differential Expressed Genes
학위논문 (박사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 의학과 외과학 전공, 2013. 8. 박재갑.Introduction: Liver is the predominant metastatic site in colorectal cancer and it is important to understand the molecular alteration of liver metastasis. The paired primary/liver metastatic tumor cell lines from the same patient may provides better understanding of molecular biology for tumor homogeneity. Thus, we established the same patient-derived paired cancer cell lines from primary tumor and liver metastasis and further investigated the molecular alterations in liver metastatic tumors, compared to primary colorectal cancer by using RNA microarray.
Methods: The primary colorectal cancer cell lines and the paired liver metastatic cell lines were successfully establishedSNU-2337A/B, SNU-2536B/C, and SNU-2600A/B. We investigated distinct genes which were consistently up-regulated or down-regulated in three paired cell lines by using RNA microarray and selected genes to yield similar results in the paired lymph node metastatic cell lines (SW480/620, SNU-769B/A) from the same patients. We further evaluated these genes by RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) and western blot analysis.
Results: Twenty-three genes were up-regulated and thirty-seven were down-regulated in 3 liver metastatic cell lines simultaneously. Based on confirmation of paired lymph node metastatic cell lines, L-plastin was conserved increased expression and MUC12 and phospholipase C ε-1 (PLCE1) were conserved decreased expression. The results of RT-PCR and western blot supported the expression patterns of these genes.
Conclusions: These newly established paired cancer cell lines from the same patients may provide further information for complex process of liver metastasis. Additionally, we found that L-plastin was also up-regulated in the liver metatastic cell lines, besides the lymph node metastatic cell lines.Abstract i

Unified DC Offset Cancellation and I/Q Regeneration with Carrier Phase Recovery in Five-Port Junction based Direct Receivers
본 논문에서는 five-port 접합을 이용한 RF 수신기를 위한 새로운 동시 DC 오프셋 제거와 I/Q 신호 재생 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 단일주파수 CW 신호를 사용하는데, 제안한 방법이 반송파 위상 오프셋에 상관없이 사용할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 제안한 방법은 추가적인 DC 오프셋 제거 기능이 필요없고, I/Q 재생 파라미터 추정시간을 크게 줄인다. 제안한 방법에서는 변조방식에 상관이 없는 단일주파수 CW 신호를 사용하므로, five-port 접합을 이용한 RF 수신기가 위상편이변조(PSK) 뿐 만 아니라, 연속위상변조 (CPM)와 직교주파수다중분할 (OFDM)에도 사용될 수 있다

Status of Constipation and Its Association with Sarcopenia in Older Adults: A Population-Based Cohort Study
(1) Background: As the clinical relevance of constipation and sarcopenia is not well studied, we aimed to investigate the association between them in older adults. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1278 community-dwelling older adults in South Korea. The Rome IV criteria were used to identify patients with clinically defined constipation, while sarcopenia was defined by the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia consensus. The cohort was classified into three groups: no constipation, self-reported constipation only, and clinically defined constipation. (3) Results: The presence of constipation was associated with sarcopenia and slow gait speed (p < 0.001). After adjustment for possible covariates, the association with sarcopenia attenuated, while that for slow gait speed persisted. In terms of geriatric parameters, both groups with clinically defined and self-reported constipation had a higher burden of cognitive impairment, IADL disability, and lower QOL scores (p < 0.05) compared with those without constipation. (4) Conclusions: Sarcopenia and slow gait speed associated with constipation in community-dwelling older adults. Individuals with self-reported constipation symptoms alone showed comparable sarcopenic and geriatric burden to those with clinically defined constipation. Clinical suspicion for possible co-existing sarcopenia is warranted in older patients with constipation
APPARATUS FOR REJECTING IMAGE IN RECEIVER
본 발명은 수신기에서의 이미지 제거 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 장치는, 직접 변환 구조의 수신기에서 이미지 신호를 제거하는 장치로서, 상기 수신기로 수신되는 신호 I(In-phase) 및 Q(Quadrature)에 대해 I 및 Q 신호 사이의 이득 오차와 위상 오차를 검출하여 상기 신호 I 및 Q에 존재하는 이미지 신호를 제거하여 출력하는 신호 불일치 보상부를 포함하며, 상기 신호 불일치 보상부는 상기 이득 오차와 위상 오차가 수렴할 때마다 상기 이득 오차와 위상 오차를 단계별로 감소시키는 적응형 스텝 방식으로 상기 이득 오차와 위상 오차를 검출하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 이미지 제거율이 높아지는 동시에 높은 이미지 제거율을 얻기 위한 적응 시간이 빨라진다. 또한, 디지털 구조에서의 DC 옵셋을 제거하여 오차를 정확히 추정함으로써 이미지 제거율로의 악영향을 방지할 수 있다
