Data Mapping of the Terms for Developing an Integrated Information System in Home and Visiting Healthcare Documents
Purpose: This study sought to determine the possibility of developing the data-sharing infrastructure of an
integrated information system to improve the quality of home and visit-based healthcare services. Methods: The
articles of study here were the forms used by a visiting healthcare agency, a home healthcare system of a home
healthcare agency, and those used in long-term care insurance for elderly. We visited a visit-based healthcare
agency and a home healthcare agency to survey their forms and interviewed relevant practitioners, and we
searched for forms associated with long-term care insurance for the elderly on the Internet. We then organized
the terms in each form and mapped them among the form after analyzing the concepts as a whole to inquiry into
the possibility of integration. Results: The mapping procedure divided the terms into those related to personal
information, problems and interventions. Mapping between the standard system (Omaha system) and the type
of form was also done. Conclusion: In this study, we found that programs were configured differently depending
on the objectives of the service. It is necessary to develop the program with an integrated information system by
comparing the three services in terms of their distinct advantages, after which such a service should be utilized.
The results of this study can serve as a database for the creation of a new integrated system.OAIID:oai:osos.snu.ac.kr:snu2011-01/102/0000028528/5SEQ:5PERF_CD:SNU2011-01EVAL_ITEM_CD:102USER_ID:0000028528ADJUST_YN:NEMP_ID:A076124DEPT_CD:811CITE_RATE:0FILENAME:μ¬κ°Β·λ°©λ¬Έ 건κ°κ΄λ¦¬ ν΅ν©μ 보μμ€ν

A Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale : Focusing on Legal Aspects
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to measure nurses knowledge about charting and
charting principles. Methods: Twenty six key attributes of nurse charting were identified by concept analysis of relevant
literatures as well as nurse manager definitions and served as the basis for the development of a 65-item survey
instrument. The Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale(NCKS) was validated by a panel of experts for its content and pilot
tested in 23 nurses. Then we administered the NCKS to a convenience sample of 252 nurses on a medical nursing
units in a tertiary hospital in Seoul, Korea. Data were collected from July 11th to July 25th, 2006. This article
describes the psychometrics and validity of the NCKS using data from the final sample of 250 nurses. Results: The 26
key attributes of nurse charting were divided into two categories of do's and don'ts through concept analysis. The
dimension of do's included identity, timeliness, completeness, accuracy, objectiveness, specification, honesty, relevance,
information producibility, evidence producibility, accessibility and intactability. The dimensions of dont's included
recording staffing problems, recording staff conflicts, naming a second patient, charting casual conversations with
colleagues, assuming that computer charting contains every information from the patient's written chart, subjectively
labeling the patient's behavior, using a language that suggests a negative attitude toward the patient, using inappropriate
comments, using inappropriate language, mentioning incident reports, using words associated with errors, using comments
implying that the patient's complaints are groundless, implying negligence and concealing or overstating medical mishaps.
The NCKS was found to have acceptable reliability(internal consistency, KR 20 coefficient = 0.73). Conclusion: The
NCKS shows promise as a measure of nurses knowledge about charting. The instrument can be readily adapted as a
tool to educate nurses about the importance of nurse charting and charting principles
An Methodology Research of Performance Appraisal Tool of Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the tool that can be used for measuring and appraising the performance of Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse(APN). Method: On the basis of some articles about roles of oncology APN, the researcher made a temporary tool and verified both content validity and face validity. Also the reliability and construct validity were verified. Result: The reliability of this tool was measured by internal consistency. Cronbachs' was .92. The method of verification of construct validity was used known group technique because of small numbers of Oncology APN. Conclusions: This performance appraisal tool of Oncology APN was verified by both the reliability and construct validity. In future, this tool will be able to be used for appraisal and verifying of nursing care of Oncology APN

The purpose of this study is to find out Behavioral and Psychological Symptom of Dementia(BPSD) and its associated factors among dementia elderly in an institutional setting. Data were collected through the structured questionnaire survey and medical record review from 100 dementia elderly in a long term care facility. The prevalence on the frequency of BPSD was 90% and the prevalence on the carsgivers distress of BPSD was 88%. Among domains of BPSD, aggression and resistance on nursing care were highly scored. The factor effecting on both the frequency of BPSD and the caregiver distress of BPSD by the logistic regression was depression. We conclude that BPSD monitoring and depression intervention from early dementia are important strategies to decrease the frequency of BPSD among dementia elderly and reduce the burden of their caregivers
A Development of Standardized Nurse Performance Appraisal Tool
Background: The objective and valid evaluation tool is essential for nurse performance appraisal. However, at nursing
departments of hospitals, the tools were used for evaluating nurses' ability and competence, rather than nurses'
performance. Purpose: This study aims at developing standardized appraisal tool that is objective and valid in order to
evaluate nurse performance. Process: Preliminary survey was done to collect performance appraisal tools and job
descriptions existed from nursing departments of exemplary hospitals. They were analyzed and used as the basis of
performance appraisal tool. Throughout internal validity testing and content analysis, the draft of standardized nurse
performance appraisal tool was developed. It consisted of performance evaluation dimension 41 items and competence
evaluation dimension with 22 items. In order to examine reliability and validity of the draft, 590 nurses' performance
appraisal were conducted by nurse managers of the hospitals participating in this research. Conclusion: Standardized
nurse performance appraisal tool was obtained reliability with Cronbach's Alpha=0.985.λ³Έ μ°κ΅¬λ λ³μκ°νΈμ¬ν κΈ°νμμν μ©μμ°κ΅¬λ‘ μ°κ΅¬λΉλ₯Ό μ§μλ°μ
Development of Performance Evaluation Tool for Operating Room Nurses
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a performance tool to evaluate operating room nurses. Method: In
the first stage, 59 preliminary items were selected after two focus group meetings were carried out using as background
a reference review. At this stage 59 items were developed. Next, the selected preliminary items were modified by an
expert group of nurses with over 10 years experience, nurses holding doctoral degrees and professors in nursing. In the
third and fourth stage, these items were analyzed by the expert group to determine validity and tested by hospital
nurses with over 10 years experience to determine reliability Results: For the final tool, the 59 items, 47 items for
the performance evaluation dimension and 12 items for the competence evaluation dimension were found to be valid
and reliable. Cronbach's Ξ± was .9622, a promising alpha value for the total instrument. Conclusion: This tool is an
efficient performance evaluation instrument providing meaningful feedback for operating room nurses.λ³Έ μ°κ΅¬λ 2007λ
