The Win-Win Strategy between Metaverse Platform and Creators Leading to Precarity : Focusing on the ZEPETO Creator

이 연구는 가상공간에서 경제활동을 하는 메타버스 크리에이터의 경험을 살피면서 비판적 플랫폼 노동의 개념으로 분석한다. 메타버스 크리에이터는 쉽게 돈을 버는 일로 그려지지만 실제로는 플랫폼의 정책에 많이 의존하며 저임금의 불안정한 노동을 하고 있다. 창작한 아이템의 활용이나 판매 금액, 현금화 방식은 거의 플랫폼에 결정권이 있고 그 체제가 자주 변동하고 있다. 크리에이터가 가져가는 수입은 판매 금액의 30%가 채 되지 않기에 긴 시간을 노동에 쓴다. 반면 크리에이터는 이를 현실의 직업과는 다르게 편하고 쉬운 일로 여겼으며, 노동함에 있어 주체성과 자율성을 발휘하고 있다. 이러한 점은 크리에이터의 불안정함과 플랫폼의 통제를 용인하도록 하는 요인이었으며 어플리케이션 스토어가 가져가는 수수료는 메타버스 플랫폼과 크리에이터를 같은 편으로 묶어 동질감을 느끼게 만든다. 그렇지만 비표준적인 노동환경을 경험하면서 이들이 우선시하는 삶의 가치가 유연하고 다양해지는 모습을 보았다. 이들은 재미, 열정, 자유로움, 주체성과 같은 요소에 만족하며 제페토와 자신을 윈-윈의 관계로 생각했다. 이 연구에서 다룬 제페토 크리에이터의 사례는 다양한 분야에서의 플랫폼 노동에 대한 비판적 논의의 범위를 넓히는 데 기여한다. This study identifies metaverse creator as a norm of critical platform labour by exploring the experiences of ZEPETO creators who make Avatar Items in virtual space. Metaverse creators are known as autonomous and easy job to earn money, but in reality, they rely heavily on the platforms policies and receive low wages, engaging in precarious and unstable work. The platform has almost all authority over the use of created items, sales amounts, and methods of monetization, and the system changes frequently. Since creators income is less than 30% of the sales amount, they spend a lot of time to increase sales as much as possible. Nevertheless, creator considered this as an easy task compared to traditional work, allowing them to exercise greater autonomy and subjectivity over their labor. These factors allowed creators to accept their unstable work conditions and tolerate the platforms control over them. Additionally, the fees taken by the app store put the metaverse platform and creators on the same side and create a sense of homogeneity. However, as the creators experience a non-standard work conditions, their prioritized values in life become more flexible and diverse. They found satisfaction in elements such as fun, passion, freedom and autonomy, perceiving their relationship with ZEPETO as a win-win situation. The case of ZEPETO creators examined in this study contributes to broadening the scope of critical discussions on platform labor in various fields

A Ciliated Cyst with Mullerian Differentiation Arising in the Posterior Mediastinum

Primary congenital mediastinal cysts are rare, have a broad range of etiologies, and can be bronchogenic, thymic, neuroenteric, or esophageal in origin[1]. Recently, Hattori[2] described the first case of a ciliated cyst of probable Mullerian origin arising in the posterior mediastinum, a so-called Hattori’s cyst. Since that time, several additional cases have been reported[3,4]. We found a posterior mediastinal cyst with Mullerian differentiation that was consistent with previous description of Hattori’s cyst.
