학위논문 (석사) -- 서울대학교 대학원 : 공과대학 화학생물공학부(에너지환경 화학융합기술전공), 2020. 8. 성영은.Polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEMFC) is an energy conversion device that exploits chemical energy of hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity for automotive and stationary applications. They are highly preferred among the sustainable energy sources since no pollutants need to be produced and energy production and storage is highly efficient. However, there are limitations to the complete transition to the hydrogen energy system with current PEMFC technology, one of them being the scarcity and high price of platinum and catalyst durability. Many researches are thus being made to minimize the amount of platinum while maximizing the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and durability. State-of-art catalysts include Pt-based transition metal bimetallic alloy with core-shell structure, ordered array, distinctive 3D structure, etc. These electrocatalysts have well displayed enhanced ORR activity and durability and opened new windows for improved PEMFC electrodes. However, the high ORR activity and durability based on liquid-electrolyte half-cell is not often translated to actual PEMFC performance in single-cell operating conditions. These gaps come from the difference in electrode configurations, such as electrode structure, ionomer distribution and thickness, membrane hydration, conductivity, etc. Oftentimes, even the most improved electrocatalysts that show excellent activity in a half-cell fails to translate its performance in single-cell environment. It is thus crucial to examine the behavior of novel electrocatalysts in a single-cell operating condition and make adequate considerations in the design of the catalyst synthesis method and procedure. This thesis focuses on employing a novel catalyst that uses soft-nitriding technique to functionalize the carbon support of Pt/C catalyst with nitrogen to single-cell PEMFC to analyze its behavior and performance on actual fuel cell operating conditions. Membrane electrode assembly (MEA) was fabricated using a catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) method to perform the analysis. As a result, the single cell performance was proven to improve in a single-cell level, showing a noticeable increase in activation polarization region. Such result was analyzed to have derived from enhance ionomer distribution and thus improved proton conductivity and triple-phase boundary formation of the new electrode. On the other hand, the compressed electrode thickness and increased hydrophilicity was degenerated the mass transfer in the high-voltage region. The performance nevertheless outperformed the conventional type of electrode throughout the entire voltage region. Enhance performance was also shown in diverse relative humidity and backpressure conditions, and accelerated stress test proved the improved durability of the catalyst. From the single-cell application and characterization, the compatibility of the novel N-functionalized Pt/C catalyst in actual PEMFC operating conditions have been confirmed. It was also shown that the new soft-nitriding technique can be helpful for designing new catalysts that can well perform in the single-cell level.고분자 전해질 연료전지는 수소와 산소의 화학적 에너지를 전기 에너지로 변환시켜주는 에너지 변환 장치로 차량용과 발전용으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 수소에너지는 유해물질을 생산해내지 않고 에너지밀도가 높으며 저장성이 뛰어나기 때문에 신재생 에너지 중 가장 미래에너지로 관심받고 있다. 하지만 전기화학반응의 촉매물질로 사용되는 백금의 자원 희소성과 높은 가격이 연료전지의 상용화를 저해하고 있다. 때문에 많은 연구들이 백금 사용량을 줄이면서 산소환원반응성과 내구성을 향상시키는 촉매를 개발하기 위해 진행되고 있다. 가장 최신의 기술로는 전위금속을 이용한 이원합금 등을 코어쉘 구조나 정렬된 구조, 또는 3차원 구조로 합성한 촉매 등이 있다. 이러한 촉매들은 산소환원반응에 큰 발전을 이루며 고분자 전해질 연료전지 상용화에 새로운 가능성을 열고 있다. 하지만 이러한 새로운 촉매들의 전기화학적 성능은 대개 액체 전해질을 사용하는 반쪽전지에서 측정되기 때문에 실제 연료전지 구동환경에서는 제 성능을 발휘하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 이러한 차이는 연료전지의 고체 전해진 사용으로 인한 전극구조, 이오노머 분산도와 두께, 막 수화, 그리고 여러 부품의 저항성에서 나온다. 이러한 차이 때문에 아주 뛰어난 산소환원반응 촉매 성능을 보이는 촉매들도 고체 전해질 단전지에서는 고전하고 있는 경우가 많다. 따라서 새로운 촉매를 설계하고 합성하는 데 있어 단전지상에서의 촉매의 특성에 대해서 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 소프트-나이트라이딩 기법을 활용한 새로운 전기화학적 촉매의 단전지상에서의 특성에 대해 분석하는 것이다. 새로운 촉매를 활용한 막-전극 접합체를 제작하여 실제 연료전지 구동환경에서의 전기화학적 성능을 측정하였다. 그 결과 전반적인 영역에서 향상된 성능을 보인 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 다양한 물리적 분석과 전기화학적 실험을 통해 향상된 이오노머 분산도가 양성자 전도도 향상에 기여하였으며, 그로 인해 활성화 손실 영역의 성능이 비약적으로 증가한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면 줄어든 전극 두께와 증가한 친수성의 영향으로 물질전달 손실 영역에서는 다소의 성능 손실을 보였으나, 이 영향은 미미하여 전반적인 성능 향상에 큰 문제가 되지는 않았다. 나아가 다양한 가습, 가압 조건에서도 새로운 촉매가 우수한 성능을 나타내어 다양한 연료전지 가동 조건에서도 적용가능함을 알 수 있었고, 전류-전압 사이클 방식을 활용한 내구성 실험을 통해 향상된 내구도를 증명할 수 있었다. 일련의 실험을 통해 소프트-나이트라이딩을 활용한 새로운 촉매가 실제 연료전지 구동환경에 충분히 적용가능함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 소프트-나이트라이딩 기술이 다양한 백금 기반 촉매에 활용될 수 있다는 가능성을 보여주었으며 이러한 기술을 사용하여 새로운 촉매를 설계하고 전극을 제작함에 있어 고려해야 할 사항들에 대해 알아볼 수 있었다.Chapter 1. A Critical Review of Epicurean Theology and Stoic Theology in Ciceros On the Nature of the Gods

『신의 본성에 관하여』는 『예언에 관하여』와 『운명에 관하여』와 더불어 삼부작을 구성한다. 키케로는 신의 본성이란 주제가 상당히 난해하고 불명확하기 때문에 제대로 다루어지지 않았음을 지적하면서, 이 주제는 인간 정신이 파악해야 할 가장 고귀한 학문분야임을 강조하고 있다. 신의 본성에 관한 논의가 중요한 이유는 만약 신에 대한 숭배가 사라진다면 사람들 간의 신뢰와 사회적 유대감 그리고 유별나게 뛰어난 덕목인 정의가 사라지게 될 것이기 때문이다. 키케로는 로마의 청년들이 도덕적 해이에 빠져있는 것을 강하게 비난하며, 그 원인을 전통적 종교가 유대감과 정의의 생성이라는 정치적 역할을 제대로 수행하지 못하고 있다는 데서 찾고 있다. 키케로는 『신의 본성에 관하여』에서 로마 종교의 개혁을 꾀하고 있다. 그는 종교개혁을 통해, 다시 말해 새로운 종교교육을 통해, 당시 로마사회에 만연한 미신을 타파하고 보다 이성적인 정치질서를 수립하고자 했다. 종교교육의 내용은 로마 종교와 스토아신학을 절충한 것이다. 여기서 절충주의자로서의 키케로의 모습이 드러나지만, 그의 절충의 방법은 단순한 모방이 아니라 회의주의적 성찰에 근거하고 있기 때문에 독창적이라고 할 수 있다. Ciceros theological trilogy is composed of On the Nature of the Gods, On Divination, and On Fate. Saying that the issue of the nature of the gods is particularly difficult and obscure, Cicero claims that the nature of the gods is the noblest of studies for the human mind to grasp. The importance of this noblest study lies in that if reverence for the gods is removed, trust and the social bond between men and the uniquely pre-eminent virtue of justice will disappear. Cicero lamented seriously the moral laxity of the Roman youth, and suggested that the moral problem was due to the failure of Roman religion to perform its political role of producing solidarity and justice among citizens. It is plausible to assert that his intention to write On the Nature of the Gods was to reform the Roman religion. He tried to establish just and rational political order by means of reformation of Roman religion, or new method of religious education. The contents of new religious education was a mixture of Roman traditional religion and the Stoic theology. Here we can find Cicero as a philosopher of eclecticism. However, as his eclectic method is not based on mosaic imitation of religious doctrines but on sceptical reflections, we should admit that his thinking is original to a large extent

Ciceros Critique on Epicurean Ethics in his On Moral Ends

키케로는 『최고선과 최고악』 1~2권에서 쾌락을 최고선으로 내세우는 에피쿠로스의 주장을 소개하는 한편, 다른 한편으로는 그의 윤리학설이 방법론상으로 틀렸을 뿐만 아 니라, 내용상으로도 논리적 일관성을 결여하고 있음을 비판하고 있다. 키케로는 방법론 적으로 변증법을 사용하여 쾌락이라는 개념이 지닌 정의(定義)상의 문제점을 지적하는 한편, 쾌락과 덕의 싸움이란 관점에서 인간의 본성을 감각과 쾌락을 중심으로 파악하 고 있는 에피쿠로스의 주장이 인간의 본성을 이성과 덕을 중심으로 파악하고 있는 스 토아학파의 주장에 지고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 키케로는 윤리학에 대한 논의가 시민을 계몽하고 시민을 행복하게 만드는데 기여한다고 믿고 있다. 본 논문은 찬성과 반대의 양 측면에서 에피쿠로스 윤리학에 대한 키케로의 논의를 재구성하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 재구성이 키케로를 이해하는 첩경이 된다면, 우리는 좀 더 쉽게 철학적 계몽과 행복에 접근할 수 있을 것이다. In the book I and II of his On Moral Ends, Cicero introduces Epicurus ethical claim which supposes pleasure as the highest good on the one hand, and criticizes his claim on the grounds that his ethical discourse is practiced methodologically in wrong way and that his remarks on pleasure are often self-contradictory and inconsistent on the other hand. Cicero employs the method of dialectic in order to point out the definition problem inherent to Epicurus who despises dialectic, and proves that Epicurus is losing in the war between virtue and pleasure because his emphasis on sense and pleasure in understanding human nature is thought to be on weaker ground than the Stoics emphasis on reason and virtue. Cicero believes that his philosophical investigation on ethics will contribute to the enlightenment of citizens and thereby making them happy. This paper aims at reconstructing Ciceros arguments on Epicurus Ethics which are performed in either side of pros and cons. If this reconstruction is so successful as to be regarded as a short-cut to understanding Ciceros philosophical intention, each of us will have an effective means to reach philosophical enlightenment and individual happiness

Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Republicanism

루소의 정치철학적 위상은 다양하게 해석되어 왔다. 프랑스 혁명 이후 루소는 시대의 흐름과 변화에 따라 자유주의, 사회주의, 전체주의, 민족주의, 공동체주의, 공화주의 등등 서로 양립되기 어려운 다양하고도 이질적인 정치이념을 옹호하는 이론가로 해석되어 왔다. 1990년대 촉발된 자유주의-공화주의 논쟁은 루소의 정치사상이 지닌 공화주의적 측면을 부각시키는데 기여했다. 루소는 공화국을 법이 지배하는 국가로 정의한다. 일반의지는 법을 제정하는 원천이며, 법은 시민 행복의 대상인 자유와 평등을 추구한다. 본 논문은 법치, 자유, 정치참여의 세 가지 핵심적인 공화주의 개념에 천착하여 루소의 정치사상이 지닌 공화주의적 특성을 밝혀내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 고대에서부터 포스트모던까지 포괄하는 루소의 사상은 최근의 자유주의-공동체주의-공화주의 논쟁이 잘 보여주듯이, 앞으로도 시대의 요구에 따라 새롭게 해석될 여지를 갖고 있음이 결론으로 제시된다.About the status of Rousseaus political philosophy, there has been various interpretations. Since the French Revolution, Rousseau has been regarded as a supporter for such various political ideologies as liberalism, socialism, totalitarianism, nationalism, communitarianism, and republicanism, all of which seem to be incompatible to each other in some respect. The intense debate between liberalism and republicanism initiated in 1990s contributed to revealing republican aspect of Rousseaus political philosophy. Rousseau defines a republic as a state ruled by laws. General will is the source for making laws, and laws pursue freedom and equality as the objectives of citizens happiness. This paper aims at disclosing the strong tenets of Rousseaus republicanism by focusing on the most essential concepts of republicanism such as rule of laws, freedom, and political participation. As a conclusion, following his reputation as a ancient postmodernist, it is suggested that Rousseaus political philosophy which covers the ancient up to the post-modern age will have room for various new interpretations according to the demand of the time in the futures, as it has been shown well by the recent debates on liberalism, communitarianism, and republicanism

Religion and Political Participation in South Korea : effects of types of associational membership

학위논문 (석사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 사회과학대학 사회학과, 2018. 2. 김석호.한국 사회에서 종교는 정치 참여를 증진시키는가? 그렇다면 한국의 민주주의에는 어떤 의미를 갖는가? 본 연구는 종교와 정치 참여 간 관계를 자발적 결사체 참여에 초점을 두고 분석하였다. 자발적 결사체는 참여자들에게 신뢰와 시민성을 증진시켜 정치에 참여하도록 촉진하고, 사회경제적 자원으로 인한 참여의 불평등을 완화하는 등 참여 민주주의의 핵심적인 기제로 작동한다. 서구의 정치사회학자들은 종교가 결사체 참여 등 사회자본의 보고임을 강조해왔다. 따라서 종교인의 정치 참여에서도 결사체의 영향력에 주목할 필요가 있다. 특히 본 연구는 한국 사회에서 종교인의 결사체 참여가 정치 참여에 갖는 의미를 경험적으로 분석했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 종교 단체를 중심으로 다양한 결사체에 참여하는 시민들은 종교 단체와 시민 사회를 연결시킴으로써, 종교가 한국 사회의 참여 민주주의 실현에 기여하도록 도울 수 있다. 본 연구는 2016년 KGSS (한국종합사회조사) 자료를 사용하였다. 먼저 종교가 결사체 참여와 정치 참여에 미치는 영향을 각각 분석하였다. 그 다음 자발적 결사체 유형을 잠재 집단 분석(LCA)을 통해 확인했다. 이를 통해 종교 중심형 유형을 발견하고, 이 유형이 세 가지 정치 참여 유형에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 각각 이항 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 하였다. 이 때 투표 참여, 정치 행동 참여, 일상적 정치 참여의 유형 분류의 타당성은 다차원 척도 분석(MDS)으로 확인하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째로, 한국에서도 종교는 결사체 참여 및 정치 참여에 유의미한 영향을 미쳐, 참여를 증진시킨다. 종교 의례 참여는 결사체 참여의 종류수를 증가시키고, 종교 단체 참여와 종교 의례 참여는 (비선거적) 정치 참여의 종류수를 증가시켰다. 하지만 결사체를 각각 따로 분석할 경우 종교 의례 참여가 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 경우는 종교단체와 봉사단체 뿐이었다. 결사체 참여 종류수의 증가도 상당부분 이 두 종류의 결사체 참여로 인한 것으로 볼 수 있다. 따라서 단순히 참여하는 결사체 종류수를 파악하는 것으로는 부족하다. 구체적으로 결사체 참여 유형을 분류해서 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 한편 종교 유형 간의 차이는 종교 의례나 종교 단체를 함께 분석했을 때 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 둘째로, 결사체 참여 유형의 잠재 집단 분석 (LCA) 결과 종교 단체 참여자 상당수가 특정 유형으로 묶일 수 있음을 발견했다. 우선 다양한 결사체에 참여하면서 종교 단체 참여 비율이 절대적으로 높은 유형이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 이를 종교 중심 포괄형으로 이름을 붙였다. 나머지 유형은 고립형, 사적 결사체 중심형으로 명명된다. 종교 중심 포괄형은 개신교인과 천주교인의 비율이 상대적으로 높은 중산층이다. 셋째로, 정치 참여 유형의 경우 다차원 척도 분석을 통해 분류했다. 그 세 가지는 투표 참여, 정치 행동 참여, 일상적 정치 참여다. 만약 다차원 척도 분석을 통해 정치 참여를 합치지 않고 정치참여 행위 각각을 따로 분석할 경우, 상당수의 정치 참여 변수에서 결사체 참여 유형의 유의미한 효과가 나타나지 않는다. 넷째로, 결사체 참여 유형이 정치 참여에 미치는 영향력은 그 유형에 따라 차별적으로 나타났다. 고립형을 기준으로 할 때 종교 중심 포괄형이 유의미하게 상대적으로 더 영향을 미치는 정치 참여는 정치 행동 참여와 일상적 정치 참여 두 가지였다. 반면 투표 참여에서는 고립형과 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 정치 행동 참여와 일상적 정치 참여에서, 종교 중심 포괄형의 예측 확률은 고립형은 물론 사적 결사 중심형에 비해서도 높았다. 마지막으로, 결사체 유형과 정치 참여 유형 간 관계에서 종교의 유형(불교, 개신교, 천주교)은 영향력이 미미했다. 즉 어떤 종교를 가지고 있는가에 따라 정치참여 수준이 유의미하게 달라지지 않았다. 이는 해석이 조심스러운 부분으로, 종교 유형 별 참여 메커니즘의 구체적 차이에 대해서는 추가적인 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구의 의의는 한국 사회의 참여 민주주의에서 종교가 갖는 의미를 부각시켰다는 점이다. 자료의 한계로 종교인의 결사체 참여, 정치 참여가 갖는 질적인 측면을 살펴보지는 못했다. 하지만 종교 단체 참여와 활동이 양적인 측면에서 정치 참여를 증진시킨다는 점은 분명히 확인할 수 있었다. 종교가 참여 민주주의에 미치는 질적인 의미는 종교 중심 포괄형 유형에 속한 시민들의 시민성을 유의미하게 증진시킬 수 있는지 여부에 달려있을 것이다.1. 서론 1 2. 이론적 배경 5 2-1. 사회학에서의 종교 : 종교의 공동체적 차원 5 2-2. 종교와 정치 참여 : 경험 연구의 흐름 7 2-3. 정치 참여의 요인과 유형 10 2-4. 자발적 결사체와 참여 민주주의 14 2-5. 종교와 정치 참여: 한국인의 결사체 참여 유형을 중심으로 16 2-6. 연구 문제 19 3. 연구 방법 20 3-1. 연구 자료 20 3-2. 변수의 조작화 20 4. 분석 결과 29 4-1. 종교와 결사체 참여 29 4-2. 종교와 정치 참여 33 4-3. 참여 유형 분류 37 4-3-1. 결사체 참여 유형 37 4-3-2. 정치 참여 유형 42 4-4. 결사체 참여와 정치 참여 46 4-4-1. 투표 참여 46 4-4-2. 정치 행동 참여 49 4-4-3. 일상적 정치 참여 52 5. 결론 55 참고문헌 59Maste
