Industry-oriented land development policy has been adopted since the 1997 Asian crisis to improve the economic development of Korea. The study shows that these industry-oriented land development project have limitations in relieving unbalanced development across regions and in achieving the goal of attracting foreign investments. The efficiency of the projects is also argued as declining due to increased interest by residents in environment and quality of life. The study suggesre modifying land development policy based on the evidence above to focus on quality of life, urban areas, and revitalization of old cities of old cities following changes in demand and policy environment

In the vocational training system of Korea, vocational training standards take on a very important position. However, some of the proposals by the officials who are involved in vocational training insist that the vocational training standards not only do not perform this role properly, but also interferes with voluntary training. This study aims to propose a desirable direction for a revision policy and related tasks that should be done. First of all, I investigated the concept of vocational training standards and the position that vocational training standards play a part in the process of vocational training. Then, I researched the properties of vocational training standards and discussed the functions. Also, I studied vocational training standards of Japan and Germany and grasped the suggestions that they have provided. Based on such discussion, the guides for the revision of vocational training standards are as follows. First, vocational training standards should be a standard guide that induces effective execution of vocational training. Second, vocational training standards should be a reasonable guide to introduce the contents and methods of vocational training. Third, vocational training standards should be flexible in order to reflect changing technology in an industrial society and the special conditions for vocational training institutions

Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between HR departments and job satisfaction using objective data such as retirement rate and the size of HR department. As a result, it is found that the larger the HR department, the higher the retirement rate is. In addition, the negative effect of the size of HR departments on retirement rate is stronger in organizations with higher mission comprehension ambiguity, evaluative goal ambiguity, and priority goal ambiguity. However, there is no statistically significant difference in directive goal ambiguity. Therefore, this study provides the policy implication that it is necessary to introduce HR practices helpful for the organization in state-owned organizations with high goal ambiguity, rather than focusing on increasing the size of HR departments
