An empirical analysis of the relationship between elementary school teacher's characteristics and discipline style

The purpose of this study was to actually analyze the relationship between teacher's characteristics and discipline style. To accomplish this purpose, 600 teachers of 21 elementary schools were sampled. As a tool of investigation, questionnaires about teacher's discipline style and discipline effectiveness had made by researcher of this study were used. And as processing of data, factor analysis and one-way ANOVA, Scheffe-test, and t-test were used. The result of this study is as follow. When the judgers were teachers themselves, teacher's discipline style was actually identified as five, in other words, democratic, compromiser, supporter, autocracy, and mixer. And in the relation between teacher's sexes, ages, and careers and teacher's discipline style, female teachers used discipline style of supporter and compromiser more than male teachers. And teachers who have much ages and careers used discipline style of democratic and supporter
