    証拠標本と生育地確認に基づいた分布記載の再構築:本州産亜高山性針葉樹5 種を例として

    This study reconfirmed localities of five subalpine conifer species(Abies mariesii, A. veitchii, Picea jezoensis var. hondoensis, P. alcoquiana and Tsuga diversifolia)in Honshu, Japan. Three methods were used ; (1)Examina-tion of 2,249 voucher specimens kept at the 24 herbaria, covering almost all specimens collected in Japan,(2)In-vestigation in the habitats on 115 mountains,(3)Research of reports from current publications. This study recon-firmed about 40 percent of recorded localities and discovered a few new localities. Among the unconfirmed locali-ties, there were more than a few ones that were situated outside the horizontal/altitudinal optimum ranges in every species. In most of these cases, the author found misidentification of sympatrically distributed two firs, A. mariesii, A. veitchii or altitudinally adjacent distributed same genus species, A. veitchii and A. homolepis, P. je-zoensis var. hondoensis and P. alcoquiana etc. And quotations from unreliable records were also found. While in other cases, this study reconfirmed localities of small size populations of outliers. The author proposes with urgency to reexamine and register voucher specimens and to verify their present habitats in geobotanically critical localities of every species ; i.e. in isolated and/or northernmost/southernmost localities because these localities would be drastically affected by human impact and environmental changes
