    Cultural prorogation in mainland China: a case study of BL culture

    Boys‘love (BL) is originated from the Japanese comics. The phrase ―”boy‘s love” first appeared as a proper noun in the comics at an approximate time of 1966 in Japan. Most BL comics depicted hopeless love of boys. Then, the 1990s saw the emergence of new type of BL comics, namely 耽美 (Tanbi). Tanbi is a Japanese word, it can be attributed the same meaning as aestheticism. Tanbi comics showed a perfect scene to audiences within beautiful boys’ love, pleasure stories also end up with a comedy. The boys‘ love or nature love between boys is different from the circle of gay. BL is a kind of emotion always can only be seen in literary output due to its strict conditions. BL ought to be explained like this, a beautiful boy is falling love with somebody else, by coincidence, it is a beautiful boy. BL is more like a Platonic love, BL always give a picture of spiritual experiences of boys‘love but fewer sex. In other word, BL is just a kind of comic form. The researchers in Japanese comics always concentrated on its social influences, characteristics, conditions, etc. There is scarce any research touching on the comic forms. BL comics are a special component of the comics, and this form demonstrates a series of phenomenon in sociology. With an informal research, BL comics is now turning into a common fashionable comic form among the Asia regions. However, with great exchanges with other areas, there also exists a large number of BL comic fans in Mainland China, and most of them are young ladies. Given this background, BL is treated as an exclusive form to the young ladies, and it largely reflects values and tastes of these ladies. The findings of this thesis might provide insights into a desire understanding males and an expectation of a fathfully lover. Undeniably, Japanese people attain amazing achievements in many fields, the success of circulating BL products is one of them.     Additively manufactured aluminium nested composite hybrid rocket fuel grains with breathable blades

    Hybrid rocket engines suffer from the restricted mechanical properties and low regression rates of current polymeric fuel grains. We propose a three-dimensional printed aluminium (Al) nested composite fuel grain with millimetre-scale lattice pores (referred to as Al-L). In this study, breathable Al blades with micrometer-scale interconnected pores (Al-B) and blades combining millimetre-scale and micrometer-scale pores (Al-B & L) are designed. The formation mechanisms, characteristics, and effects of the breathable blades are analysed in simulations, micro-computed tomography, and cyclic compression tests. The mechanical properties of the composite fuel grains are investigated numerically and in compression tests. Al-B has the highest Young's modulus at more than 15 times that of a paraffin-based fuel grain and Al-B & L has the highest yield stress at 4 times that of the paraffin-based fuel grain. Referring to combustion properties, the regression rates of the Al-B and Al-B & L grains are respectively 63.3% and 58.2% greater than the regression rate of the paraffin-based fuel grain

    Here we report the role of XRCC4 in cancer stem cell (CSC) properties and radiosensitivity of CSCs to X-ray and carbon ion beam. FACS analysis showed that the CSCs (CD133+, CD44+/ESA+) were significantly altered in XRCC4 KO cells compared to HCT116-WT cells. The number of colony and spheroid formed from CSCs were significantly higher compared to that from non-CSCs in XRCC4 KO cells, but extremely decreased compared to HCT116-WT cells. The proportion of CSCs was more extremely increased in XRCC4 KO cells compared to HCT116-WT cells after X-ray irradiation. Survival fraction analysis showed that the doses at D10 levels of CSCs sorted from XRCC4-KO and HCT116-WT cells were 1.4 and 4.2 Gy for X-ray and 1.0 and 1.9 Gy for carbon ion beam, respectively. A much more large number and large-sized gamma-H2AX foci were observed in CSCs sorted from XRCC4 KO cells compared to that from HCT116-WT cells, after 24 h carbon ion beam compared to X-ray irradiation. In conclusion, lack of XRCC4 significantly altered expression of CSC markers, radiosensitized CSCs to both X-ray and carbon ion beam, suggesting that XRCC4 may play a pivotal role in modulating cancer cell stemness.第72回日本癌学
