Imaging blood cells through scattering biological tissue using speckle scanning microscopy
Using optical speckle scanning microscopy [1], we demonstrate that clear
images of multiple cells can be obtained through biological scattering tissue,
with subcellular resolution and good image quality, as long as the size of the
imaging target is smaller than the scanning range of the illuminating speckle
pattern.Comment: Copyright statement remove
Distributed Collaborative Monitoring in Software Defined Networks
We propose a Distributed and Collaborative Monitoring system, DCM, with the
following properties. First, DCM allow switches to collaboratively achieve flow
monitoring tasks and balance measurement load. Second, DCM is able to perform
per-flow monitoring, by which different groups of flows are monitored using
different actions. Third, DCM is a memory-efficient solution for switch data
plane and guarantees system scalability. DCM uses a novel two-stage Bloom
filters to represent monitoring rules using small memory space. It utilizes the
centralized SDN control to install, update, and reconstruct the two-stage Bloom
filters in the switch data plane. We study how DCM performs two representative
monitoring tasks, namely flow size counting and packet sampling, and evaluate
its performance. Experiments using real data center and ISP traffic data on
real network topologies show that DCM achieves highest measurement accuracy
among existing solutions given the same memory budget of switches
Topological gauge theory, symmetry fractionalization, and classification of symmetry-enriched topological phases in three dimensions
Symmetry plays a crucial role in enriching topological phases of matter.
Phases with intrinsic topological order that are symmetric are called
symmetry-enriched topological phases (SET). In this paper, we focus on SETs in
three spatial dimensions, where the intrinsic topological orders are described
by Abelian gauge theory and the symmetry groups are also Abelian. As a series
work of our previous research [Phys. Rev. B 94, 245120 (2016);
(arXiv:1609.00985)], we study these topological phases described by twisted
gauge theories with global symmetry and consider all possible topologically
inequivalent "charge matrices". Within each equivalence class, there is a
unique pattern of symmetry fractionalization on both point-like and string-like
topological excitations. In this way, we classify Abelian topological order
enriched by Abelian symmetry within our field-theoretic approach. To
illustrate, we concretely calculate many representative examples of SETs and
discuss future directions
