Occasions arise when nursing students experience frustration due to difficulties in various phases of their college life, such as learning, practical training and relationship with friends. It is desirable to educate students along with a proper understanding of their mental health. They are apt to face discord and be mentally restless, since they are still in the process of growth. In order to grasp the actual conditions of students in our college, a survey was conducted on the state of their adaptation to college life six months after their entrance into college. This survey included : (1) why students chose and entered this college, (2) whether students are now satisfied with college life, and (3) whether students have changed their image of college life - the one that they had before and just after entering this college. About 25% of respondents said, "I am satisfied", and the students of this group showed only a slight change in their image of college life. On the other hand, about 30% said, "I am not satisfied", and these students showed great change in their image of college life. Also it turned out that the students of the latter group once wished to learn subjects other than nursing or to learn nursing at other universities or colleges. The changes mentioned by students include images becoming gloomy, hard, narrow, cramped, laborious, busy, and demanding. These images indicate that students are tense and deppressed, and also that they are strongly frustrated after experiencing the first six months of college life and having undergone the final examinations of the first semester.国立情報学研究所で電子

We investigated the influence of a visit to the anatomy dissection class on the image of a corpse that the students of nursing have. They answered our questionnaires about the image of a corpse, their curiosity, their knowledge, their tendency to reject or empathize with the death of others, before and after visiting the class. The results of the survey shows that their earlier positive image of a corpse and their curiosity decreased after the class. It suggests that there may be a necessity for death education to be coordinated with visiting the class.国立情報学研究所で電子
