The Dynamic Simulation for a Cold Rolling Mill Machine

    Get PDF
For a cold rolling mill machine that represents a mechanical system, the dynamics problems may be solved by using the differential equations of their movement. We must consider all the connections and couplings for the mill machine that have too elastic elements like: springs, shafts and axes deformed through torsion, spring bars, work rolls and back-up rolls. The vibrations of the mechanical system must be monitored in order to identify those components which cause problems when the damage of the mill occurs during the operation. In these mechanical systems, mobile rigid permanent couplings are used - which transmit shocks and vibrations - or stretch couplings - which, due to the elastic element, dampen shock and vibration. Vibrations can appear, too, because of rolling strip that can have undulations

Research on the Work Place Security and Environmental Factors Affected by Lathe Work

    Get PDF
Most work place risks are spatially and temporally determined, so a critical early need is to establish the risk of what (is happening) to whom (which part of the environment is affected), where (location) and when (in time). Environmental factors that can be damaged are: soil, water, air, noise, biodiversity, landscape and human settlement. Formulating the problem in clear and unambiguous terms will assist in selecting the level and types of assessment methodology used and will improve, in the context of sustainable development, the risk management decision

Research on the Operation of Commercial Vessels with Compressed Air

    Get PDF
Regarding the reduction of the carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere, this paper is going to present a system of propulsion with compressed air used for medium-sized commercial vessels. In the transport domain, Romania holds a key position at the eastern border of the European Union, a transit area, both in the east-west direction (connection with Asia via the Black Sea), and north-south (from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea). Three of the priority axes TEN-T cross the territory of Romania. We believe that using compressed air instead of fossil fuels will also determine a fuel economy of approximately 42% leading to the improvement of the companies finances which use these systems

Optimization Techniques for the Neutralization of the Polluted Waters from Metal Plating

The problems related to the protection of the environment are regarded especially as a result of the local pollution by the industry and agriculture or by the overcrowded areas, which have led to the disturbance of some ecosystems and to worse living conditions of people. The extensive use of chemical substances in the technological processes demands special measures concerning the protection of the environment. A major problem is the purification of industrial waste water

THE INFLUENCE OF CLIMATE CONDITIONS ON THE NUTRITIONAL QUALITY OF SOME POTATO LINES TESTED IN CULTURE ON SANDY SOILS FROM SOUTHERN OLTENIA

    Get PDF
In this paper are presented the results regarding the biochemical composition of the 7 potato lines studied at Dăbuleni Research-Development Station for Plant Culture on Sands in conditions of thermo-hydric stress. The obtained results highlighted differentiations depending on the genotype and depending on the climatic conditions of the 2 years of study (2020-2021). A high content of total dry matter, above the average of 22.87% presented 4 of the 7 potato lines studied, the highest values being recorded at line L 1901/11 (27.09%). Starch, the main biochemical component of potato tubers, showed values between 12.86% in 2020 and 13.08% in 2021, the highest average values of starch content in tubers being determined in line L 1895/1. The vitamin C content was higher in all the lines studied in the climatic conditions of 2021 year

Siderurgy Slags Recovery in Building Industry

    Get PDF
During the metallurgical processes of iron and steel elaboration, besides the basic products, it results a serious of secondary products (wastes) in high quantities but with a high recycle – recovery potential, and their reintroduction in the economic circuits. In this paper, we are going to refer strictly to the working and the recovery of the blast furnace slags, respectively to LD converter slags, without insisting on the formation mechanism and slag reactions

Research Regarding Work Safety in the Loading Zone Furnace

    Get PDF
The loading zone furnace is the place where we find work belt conveyors, vibrating screens and feeders, 5-ton hoist, cyclone, scale hoppers, troughs for routing and carriage of waste materials. The work consists in storing the sorts of raw materials and of used coke and in delivering them to the furnace load recipes

Research and Science Today Journal is a publication founded in 2011 and it is dedicated to the students of all levels (license, master and doctoral) of faculties in the country and abroad. We want to offer the participants the opportunity to present their scientific works in the following areas: Social Sciences, Economic Sciences, Legal Sciences, Humanities, Education Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Sport. This journal provides students the opportunity to create and / or to improve their abilities to write scientific papers. So each appearance (two appearances per year at which we can add supplements) contains a number of papers written by students, masters and doctoral from the faculties from the country or / and abroad. The journal promotes original studies contributing to the progress of knowledge and it is motivated by the need to address issues of theory and practice in the areas mentioned above. The Journal is a training means of the factors involved in the conceptualization, development, implementation and evaluation , aiming the formation of creative personalities who could be able to adapt through the changing conditions of life. Journal wants to be a forum for debates disciplinaries and interdisciplinaries theoretical topics, to become a research support, to leverage this work at regional, national and international levels. We believe that this gathering will enjoy the support from both parts of the researchers and of the practitioners, and will provide appropriate training sources held professional through the current problems

Improving Slab Quality Through Control of Cooling Parameters in Continuous Casting Plants

    No full text
Coupling the continuous casting installations with the rolling ones is a modern process that brings considerable economic benefits. During the continuous casting process of steel slabs, necessary technological conditions must be met in order to obtain some semi-finished products with minimum probability of defect appearance, under the conditions of a maximum amount of heat conservation in development without negatively affecting the productivity of the continuous casting machine
