Predicting students unethical behaviour: Do attitudes lead towards intentions?

    Get PDF
In the last several years, the amount of research on the lack of academic integrity and unethical behaviour of students has increased. On the one hand, technological development has spurred unethical behaviour, while on the other hand it has enabled better control of the same behaviour. This raises the question if the students behave unethically and why, and which factors influence their unethical behaviour. The research was conducted on a sample of 622 university students. The aim of the study was to determine if students’ personal attitudes on unethical behaviour influence their intentions to engage in unethical behaviour, i.e. the aim is to determine the connection between the attitudes and the intended behaviour. The results of the regression analysis show a statistically significant positive correlation between the students’ general personal attitudes toward unethical behaviour and their future intentions toward unethical behaviour. This leads to the necessity for control and supervision regarding unethical behaviour and a stricter approach to such behaviour, which would ultimately result in the reduction of intentions toward further unethical behaviour among students

Parametric analysis of wind action on slab bridge deck

In this paper, the parametric analysis of wind action on the bridge deck is conducted. Wind force acting on the bridge deck is calculated varying upon the following parameters: wind area, terrain category, road restraint system and height of the deck above ground. The presented results show the possibility of great changes in wind force due to changes of the listed parameters. Since a similar slab bridge deck is often used in different locations in Croatia, it is important to bear in mind when designing standardised bridges the fact that the wind load on bridges in different locations can change several times

A Study on Utilization of Oral Contraceptives in the City of Zagreb (2008-2010)

    Get PDF
Main aim of this study is to quantify and analyze the utilization and utilization trends of oral hormonal contraceptives in the City of Zagreb, 2008-2010, and to propose potential interventions, if necessary. Data gathered from Zagreb pharmacies were assessed by Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification of drugs and Daily Defined Dose methodology. An alarming decrease in total utilization of hormonal contraceptives by 76% from 2008-2009 was found as the main result of this study. A major decrease by 95.5% in utilization of G03AB04 subgroup, sequential combined oral contraceptives, was noted in the year 2009. The subgroup G03AC0, progesterone-only pill group, showed a stable trend, and it became the most utilized subgroup in 2010, due to the decrease in utilization of both fixed and sequential combined oral contraceptives. Utilization of oral contraceptives in Croatia is not regulated adequately, since such dynamics in utilization can occur unnoticed. Measures need to take place in order to improve this situation. Proposed measures include organized farmacovigilance, prescription based on guidelines, and strict screening for risk factors in women seeking oral contraception. More research is required in Croatia to understand the pattern of utilization of hormonal contraceptives and to find the true cause of decrease in utilization of oral contraceptives
