    The Effects of Organic Wastes on Soil and Cotton Quality with respect to the Risk of Boron and Heavy Metal Pollution

    WOS: 000376354600001The effects on soil and cotton quality of organic wastes from medicinal and aromatic plant factories were investigated with regard to the risks of boron and heavy metal pollution. Oily cumin, oregano, oilless oregano wastes, and mineral fertilizers were applied to cotton in two field experiments performed in the years 2003 and 2006. The Pb content of the soil differed significantly in the 2003 experiment and oregano wastes had significantly decreasing effect. Boron of soil to which oily cumin wastes had been applied reached a toxic limit value in 2006. Boron in soil adversely affected long fibres; B in leaves had a positive effect on the fineness of fibres in 2006. Soil Ni adversely affected plant height in 2006 and seed cotton yield in 2003. Leaf Ni had an adverse effect on fibre elasticity in 2006. Soil Co increased ginning out-turn and Cr decreased the fibre fineness of cotton in 2003

    Investigation of Factors Related to Cervical Proprioception in Healthy Individuals

    Purpose: This study was carried out to investigate whether there is a relationship between the sense of cervical region proprioception and cervical region joint range of motion and posture in healthy young adults. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on 98 healthy young adults in Kırşehir Ahi Evran University School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. The cervical proprioception senses of the individuals participating in the study were evaluated in 4 different positions (flexion, extension, left rotation and right rotation) using the Cervical Joint Position Error Test. In addition, the posture of the participants was evaluated using the New York Posture Analysis and the cervical region joint range of motion values were evaluated using a manual goniometer. The correlation between parameters was examined using Pearson’s correlation analysis. Results: The mean age of the individuals participating in the study was 20.85±1.68 years. No statistically significant correlation was found between the cervical region proprioception sub-parameters with the New York Posture Analysis and the cervical region joint range of motion sub-parameters (for all p>0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that cervical proprioception was not associated with posture and cervical range of motion. However, we believe that cervical proprioception sense, range of motion and posture should be examined in patients with cervical region pathology

    Sublingual buprenorphine/naloxone treatment is not affected by OPRM1 A118G and BDNF Va66Met polymorphisms, but alters the plasma beta-endorphin and BDNF levels in individuals with opioid use disorder

    The study aimed to examine the genetic contribution to buprenorphine (BUP) treatment in individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD), with a specific focus on BDNF and OPRM1 genes. A total of 113 controls and 111 OUD patients receiving sublingual BUP/naloxone were enrolled. OPRM1 A118G and BDNF Val66Met polymorphisms were investigated by PCR-FRLP. Plasma BDNF and beta-endorphin levels were assessed by ELISA kits in both groups. Blood BUP levels were measured by LC-MS/MS and normalized with daily BUP dose (BUP/D). OPRM1 A118G and BDNF Val66Met polymorphisms didn't have an effect on plasma beta-endorphin and BDNF levels in OUD patients, respectively. Interestingly, OUD patients had significantly higher plasma BDNF and lower beta-endorphin levels compared to the controls (p < 0.001). A negative and significant correlation between plasma BUP/D and BDNF levels was found. Age onset of first use was associated with OPRM1 A118G polymorphism. The findings indicated that sublingual BUP/naloxone may increase plasma BDNF levels, but may decrease beta-endorphin levels in individuals with OUD. Plasma BDNF level seemed to be decreased in a BUP/D concentration-dependent manner. © 2022 Elsevier B.V

    in this study, it was investigated that effect of nitrogen applied 0, 4, 8 and 12 kg / da on the content of Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu and the amount of Fe7 Zn, Mn, Cu removed from soil at differet development stages of barley varieties named Tokak and Klages in Van province. It was observed that Fe, Cu content of leaf + stem, Zn, Mn, Cu content of spike, amount of Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu removed with leaf + stem and spike were singnificantly increased by N fertilization. It was also determined that Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu removed from soil increased until heading stage and than these amounts showed a decrease at the other development stages of barley. However, amount of Fe, Zn, Mn. Cu removed from soil with spike increassed to be linear.Bu çalışmada Van ekolojik koşullarında, Tokak ve Klages arpa çeşitlerine 0, 4, 8 ve 12 kg / da N uygulamalarının, farklı gelişim dönemlerinde yaprak + sap ve başak Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu içeriğine ve topraktan kaldırılan Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu miktarlarına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada azotlu gübrelemenin yaprak + sap Fe, Cu içeriğini ve başak Zn, Mn, Cu içeriğini önemli düzeyde etkilediği gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca azotlu gübreleme yaprak + sap ve başakla topraktan kaldırılan Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu miktarlarım önemli olarak arttırmıştır. Yaprak + sap ile topraktan kaldırılan Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu miktarları, başaklanma dönemine kadar artmış, sonraki dönemlerde azalmıştır. Ancak başak ile kaldırılan Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu miktarları doğrusal olarak artmıştır

    The main objective of the study was to determine the P-adsorption and fixation capacities of the soil on which tobacco is grown in Bitlis province and their relation with the soil characteristics. In the study, 29 soil samples were used and P32P^{32} was applied. The results were summarized as follows: - The experimental soils were generally slightly acidic and have notral reaction. They were sandy loam in texture and poor in CaCO3CaCO_3 ,humus content and sufficentin exchangeable Ca++Mg++Ca^{++} Mg^{++}, - The available phosphorus content of the soils were found high. - In soils, there are positive effects of clay, exchangeable Ca++Mg++Ca^{++} Mg^{++}on the phosphorus adsorption and fixation but sand and available phosphorus have negative effects. In addition it was found a relation between t he P fixation capacity and CEC of the soil. - It was found that P-adsorption and fixation capacities of the ,soils samples were between 8.22-9.28 mg/100g soil anil 5.56-8.98 mg/100g soils, respectively. The result of the research shows that because of the deficit of the available P content, 20.6 % of the soils in -Bitlis province can respond to the phosphorus fertilization. From this point of view, it is very important to decrease fixation by some preventions in the soils which will be fertilized with phosphorus.Bu araştırmanın amacı, Bitlis yöresinde tütün tarımı yapılan toprakların fosfor adsorpsiyon ve fıksasyon durumlarını belirlemek ve bunların toprak özellikleri ile ilişkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla 29 toprak örneği kullanılmış ye P32P^{32} uygulaması yapılmıştır. Çalışmada aşağıdaki sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. - Topraklar genelde hafif asit-ve nötral reaksiyonlu, kumlu tın tekstürde, CaCO3CaCO_3-Ce fakir, organik madde içeriği düşük veya orta düzeydedir. Değişebilir Ca++Ca^{++} ve Mg++Mg^{++}'a iyi durumdadır. - Topraklar alınabilir fosfor yönünden zengin bulunmuştur. - Toprakların P adsorpsiyon kapasiteleri 8.22-9.28 mg/100g toprak ve fıksasyon kapasiteleri 5.56-8.98 mg/100g toprak arasında değişmektedir. - Topraklarda ,P adsorpsiyon ve fiksasyonu üzerine toprak özelliklerinden kil, değişebilir Ca++Ca^{++} ve Mg++Mg^{++}'un pozitif; kum ve alınabilir fosforun negatif, etkileri saptanmıştır. Ayrıca toprakların fosfor adsorpsiyon kapasiteleri KDK ile önemli düzeyde ilişkili bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda yöre topraklarının alınabilir fosfor içerimi yönünden %20,6'sının, fosforlu gübrelemeye cevap verebilecek nitelikte olduğu görülmektedir. Bu anlamda fosforlu gübre uygulamaları yapılacak alanlarda fiksasyon azaltıcı önlemler önem taşımaktadır
