Abstract The anaerobic treatability and methane generation potential of the wastewaters of the three important agroindustries in Turkey, namely, cheese-making, poultry breeding and the olive-oil mill industries were studied. Biochemical methane potential (BMP) experiments were conducted for different initial chemical oxygen demand (COD) concentrations.
