Pesan yang terdistribusi melalui platform jejaring sosial kerap menjadi sumber yang berarti pada proses organisasi media massa dalam menciptakan dan menyebarkan pesan kepada publik. Melalui riset kualitatif dengan teknik deskriptif, artikel ini mencoba menelusuri bagaimana pesan-pesan komunikasi massa diproduksi melalui dua media yang berbeda.     The Philosophical Meanings Of The Ma'duangan Ceremonial Culture (Patang Puloan) In Batunoni Village Anggeraja District Enrekang Regency

    Tradition is a word that cannot be separated from a nation, including the Indonesian nation which is a compound country with the largest multiculture in the world. Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands stretching from Sabang to Merauke, where each region has a different culture. This research aims (1) to find out the implementation of ma'duangan tradition in Enrekang regency. (2) to know the philosophical meaning and values contained in the implementation of the Ma'duangan or Patang puloan tradition. This study is ethnographic research. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of interviews and documentation, the data analysis used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study show that: (1). The implementation of the Ma'duangan or Patang Puloan tradition is the culmination of events in a series of events/rituals of death ceremonies in Batunoni Village which starts from sangbonginna (first night) which consists of two types of activities, namely day and night activities, mangbongi tallu (third night), mangbongi pitu (seventh night), and mangpatang puloan (fortieth night) consisting of two stages of the event, the first is mangpellao (lowering), the second is manggere tedong (slaughtering buffalo). (2) The philosophical meaning contained in the ma'duangan event; a. The value of togetherness and a sense of solidarity. b. Foster cooperation in the form of gotong royong. c. The value of trust is recommended to the community to maintain the noble values contained in the implementation of the Ma'duangan tradition (patang puloan) as a guideline in public life, despite the development of the times (Globalization), education and religion (belief) which is very influential on society to make changes

    Makkiyah – Madaniyah Asy Syatibi Dan Implikasinya Terhadap Pengembangan Pemikiran Islam Substantif Dan Kultural

    This writing studies Syatibi’s thought on the appropriation of both the Qur’an and Hadith of the makkiyah period as “the root” (usul) and those of the madaniyyah as “the branch” (furu’). Such thought implies the function of the makkiyah texts as “the principle”, and the madaniyah ones as “the implementation”.  This paper then questions the extent to which such thought by Syatibi is relevant with the renewal of Islamic law in contemporary Muslim societies. It uses literary study as its research method, and does its data analysis qualitatively. This research finds out that, Syatibi views the makkiyah texts as an ushul that constitutes a subsistence of maqasid syariah (purposes of the law),  while the madaniyah texts as a furu’, one that forms the implementation of that maqasid syairah. Using his theory of istiqrai makwani, Syatibi views the makkiyah texts as a deductive justification which consists of legal norms between human beings. The teachings of morality and ethics contained in the makkiyah justification are fixed, while those of the madaniyah justification are dynamic and contingent. The consequence is that any form of obligation and prohibition in Islamic law which are derived from the madaniyah justification is dynamic and are changing according to its spatial and historical contexts: hence the compatibility of the texts with the principle of maqasid syariah

    Budaya Syawalan atau Lomban di Jepara: Studi Komparasi Akhir Abad Ke-19 dan Tahun 2013

    Lomban atau syawalan di Jepara telah berlangsung sejak ratusan tahun yang silam. Pada tahun 1868, kegiatan syawalan berlangsung semarak dengan didukung oleh bupati, lurah, dan masyarakat. Pesta rakyat Jepara ini dikunjungi masyarakat dari berbagai daerah seperti Rembang, Semarang, dan Juwana. Kegiatan yang dilakukan tujuh hari setelah lebaran pada tahun 1868 tidak terjadi di daerah lain. Bila dibandingkan aktivitas lomban tahun 1868 dengan tahun 2013 terdapat persamaan dan perbedaan. Persamaannya, kegiatan syawalan diwarnai oleh aktivitasi budaya melarung kepala kerbau. Bupati serta pejabat yang lain dan masyarakat guyub rukun mendukung aktivitas lomban ini. Perbedaannya adalah pada tahun 2013 terdapat pengembangan kegiatan antara lain pentas wayang kulit dan hiburan. Namun demikian, esensi dari kegiatan lomban masih tetap sama yaitu meminta kepada yang Maha Kuasa agar kegiatan mencari rezeki di laut pada tahun mendatang semakin mudah. Kata
