    MUEGANO: A divide and conquer algorithm to overcome memory limitations when assembling shotgun projects

    When assembling a large quantity of reads in a genomic shotgun project a serious limitation is the amount of random access memory (RAM) of the computers used in the project. This arises because all assembling programs must look at all the overlaps between reads at the same time, using RAM in order to construct contigs, and the memory of the computer can be filled up during this step, causing the abortion of the assembling process.
Here we propose an algorithm that is capable of overcoming any memory limitation by using redundancy of processing and thus producing an increase in computing time but overcoming the memory limitation.
The proposed algorithm consists in dividing the reads in a set of groups which size is half the maximum capability in memory of the computer used and performing assembling for all the possible combination pairs of such groups. After eliminating the redundancy of the set of contigs obtained in the previous step, the process is iterated until a set of contigs of manageable size is obtained such that the set can be handled by the assembler in a final step.
Each step of the procedure increases the time of computing from k to approximately k + k(k-1)/2, but in many practical cases only one step is needed to finish the assembling process. The procedure is suitable for any kind of assembler and was successfully applied to the assembly of a very large set of reads from the maize genome

    In this paper, we analyze the process of "assembling" new matrix geometric means from existing ones, through function composition or limit processes. We show that for n=4 a new matrix mean exists which is simpler to compute than the existing ones. Moreover, we show that for n>4 the existing proving strategies cannot provide a mean computationally simpler than the existing ones

Sigh of operator before repair utilized upon which consideration in process perancanaan of appliance assist. With indicator sigh of time and operator process assembling after repair of appliance assist. From applying , conception ergonomic in this research, to Sigh of operator before repair of appliance assist assembling of garbage box is 87,5 %. While after done by repair of appliance assist, sigh of operator become 18,88 %. This matter show the existence of degradation after done by repair of appliance assist that is 68,62 %. Besides also the existence of degradation of time process assembling of garbage box. So that the existence of the make-up of produksi,semula put out 20 unit / hour by 2 operator while after repair of appliance assist put out become 23 unit / hour by 1 operator. Proposed by recommendation is researcher for the repair of appliance assist by joining 2 activity station become 1 station work and appliance assist better use motor for controller fluctuate

    Supporting process reuse in PROMENADE

    Process reuse (the ability to construct new processes by assembling already built ones) and process harvesting (the ability to build generic processes that may be further reused, from existing ones) are two crucial issues in process technology. Both activities involve defining a set of mechanisms, like abstraction, adaptation, composition, etc. which are appropriate to achieve their goals. In this report, we define a general framework to process reuse and harvesting that proposes a complete set of mechanisms to deal with both activities. This general framework is particularized to the context of a process modelling language to model software processes, called PROMENADE. A definition of the identified reuse and harvesting mecha-nisms is proposed in the context of PROMENADE.     This study aims to determine the effectiveness of video in the learning materials and computer hardware assembling to know the difference student learning outcomes before and after using video in class XII Industrial Electronics SMKN 2 Wonosari. This research was conducted in November 2010 until December 2010. Type research is kind of population research because the sample size research take the entire population of the entire class XII students of Industrial Electronics, this population is 35 students. Research’s method is Pre-Experimental Designs and using One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This method aims to determine the effect of a treatment in the learning process. The media used is a CD video tutorial "Merakit Komputer Untuk Orang Awam." Data collection techniques used in this research using a pretest and posttest. Validation of research instruments is through expert opinions (judgments) and then tested through a pretest on students majoring in Industrial Electronics XII SMK N 2 Wonosari. Data analysis techniques used to analyze the research data is to be tested in SPSS 17 for Windows. Based on a research known to increase learning outcomes after a given treatment using video CD Tutorial is from 63.97 (mean pretest) to 76.37 (mean posttest). Results mastery learning after using video media tutorial CD reaches 71.42% which means that these results exceeded the minimum limit of 65% so that concluded video media Tutorial CD " Merakit Komputer Untuk Orang Awam " not yet effective in learning to use the lessons of computer hardware assembling class XII Industrial Electronics SMK Negeri 2 Wonosari.     Self-assembling peptide-enriched electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds promote the h-osteoblast adhesion and modulate differentiation-associated gene expression

    Electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL) is able to support the adhesion and growth of h-osteoblasts and to delay their degradation rate to a greater extent with respect to other polyesters. The drawbacks linked to its employment in regenerative medicine arise fromits hydrophobic nature and the lack of biochemical signals linked to it. This work reports on the attempt to add five different self-assembling (SA) peptides to PCL solutions before electrospinning. The hybrid scaffolds obtained had regular fibers (SEM analysis) whose diameters were similar to those of the extracellularmatrix, more stable hydrophilic (contact angle measurement) surfaces, and anamorphous phase constrained by peptides (DSC analysis). They appeared to have a notable capacity to promote the h-osteoblast adhesion and differentiation process by increasing the gene expression of alkaline phosphatase, bone sialoprotein, and osteopontin. Adding an Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) motif to a self-assembling sequence was found to enhance cell adhesion, while the same motif condensed with a scrambled sequence did not, indicating that there is a cooperative effect between RGD and 3D architecture created by the self-assembling peptides. The study demonstrates that self-assembling peptide scaffolds are still able to promote beneficial effects on h-osteoblasts even after they have been included in electrospun polycaprolactone. The possibility of linking biochemical messages to self-assembling peptides could lead the way to a 3D decoration of fibrous scaffolds

    Combination of laser welding with in-mould assembling into a single process

    The search of a process capable of produce and assemble complex subsystems in a short period is the goal of any company. In the market it is possible to found several solutions. They go from simple glue to the complexes systems that use moulds, robot and other. These systems are part of a complex assembling line. In these lines are several different processes as welding, plastic and assembling process. This complex structure is costly, and in countries where the labour cost is high. To maintain the cost the companies are obliged to go overseas. The process presented had the objective of reducing the complexity of an assembling line. The reduction of the complexity is achieved through the combination of the in-mould assembly and the laser welding. The in-mould assembly is used to produce in the same mould several components. Laser welding is used to join different polymers. To study the viability of the process I was chosen a case study, in this case, a rear lamp. Firstly, it was modified to this new process, and then each component was studied individually. Finally, all the processes were combined and it was concluded that this process has viability and to make it possible producing a complex subsystem in one process
