Pengaruh Motif Hedonis Terhadap Loyalitas Perilaku Di Domicile Kitchen and Lounge Surabaya: Kepuasan Konsumen Sebagai Variabel Mediasi
:The study was conducted to determine the effect of hedonic motives on behavioral loyalty of customers at Domicile Kitchen and Lounge Surabaya. Hedonic motives influenced functional evaluation and affective evaluation which in turn will impact on the customer satisfaction as the mediating variable. The writer used structural equation model (SEM) with AMOS version 22 to test the effect of independent variables on the dependent variables. The result showed that all hypotheses were accepted. Hedonic motives significantly influenced functional evaluation and affective evaluation. Meanwhile, functional evaluation significantly influenced affective evaluation. Functional evaluation and affective evaluation also significantly influenced customers' satisfaction. Lastly, customers' satisfaction significantly affected respondents' behavioral loyalty
The role of anterior cingulate cortex in the affective evaluation of conflict
An influential theory of anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) function argues that this brain region plays a crucial role in the affective evaluation of performance monitoring and control demands. Specifically, control-demanding processes such as response conflict are thought to be registered as aversive signals by ACC, which in turn triggers processing adjustments to support avoidance learning. In support of conflict being treated as an aversive event, recent behavioral studies demonstrated that incongruent (i.e., conflict inducing), relative to congruent, stimuli can speed up subsequent negative, relative to positive, affective picture processing. Here, we used fMRI to investigate directly whether ACC activity in response to negative versus positive pictures is modulated by preceding control demands, consisting of conflict and task-switching conditions. The results show that negative, relative to positive, pictures elicited higher ACC activation after congruent, relative to incongruent, trials, suggesting that ACC's response to negative (positive) pictures was indeed affectively primed by incongruent (congruent) trials. Interestingly, this pattern of results was observed on task repetitions but disappeared on task alternations. This study supports the proposal that conflict induces negative affect and is the first to show that this affective signal is reflected in ACC activation
The emotional valence of subliminal priming effects perception of facial expressions
We investigated, in young healthy subjects, how the affective content of subliminally
presented priming images and their specific visual attributes impacted conscious
perception of facial expressions. The priming images were broadly categorised as
aggressive, pleasant, or neutral and further subcategorised by the presence of a face and
by the centricity (egocentric or allocentric vantage-point) of the image content. Subjects
responded to the emotion portrayed in a pixelated target-face by indicating via key-press
if the expression was angry or neutral. Priming images containing a face compared to
those not containing a face significantly impaired performance on neutral or angry targetface
evaluation. Recognition of angry target-face expressions was selectively impaired by
pleasant prime images which contained a face. For egocentric primes, recognition of
neutral target-face expressions was significantly better than of angry expressions. Our
results suggest that, first, the affective primacy hypothesis which predicts that affective
information can be accessed automatically, preceding conscious cognition, holds true in
subliminal priming only when the priming image contains a face. Second, egocentric
primes interfere with the perception of angry target-face expressions suggesting that this
vantage-point, directly relevant to the viewer, perhaps engages processes involved in
action preparation which may weaken the priority of affect processing.Accepted manuscrip
The influence of psychological resilience on the relation between automatic stimulus evaluation and attentional breadth for surprised faces
The broaden-and-build theory relates positive emotions to resilience and cognitive broadening. The theory proposes that the broadening effects underly the relation between positive emotions and resilience, suggesting that resilient people can benefit more from positive emotions at the level of cognitive functioning. Research has investigated the influence of positive emotions on attentional broadening, but the stimulus in the target of attention may also influence attentional breadth, depending on affective stimulus evaluation. Surprised faces are particularly interesting as they are valence ambiguous, therefore, we investigated the relation between affective evaluation-using an affective priming task-and attentional breadth for surprised faces, and how this relation is influenced by resilience. Results show that more positive evaluations are related to more attentional broadening at high levels of resilience, while this relation is reversed at low levels. This indicates that resilient individuals can benefit more from attending to positively evaluated stimuli at the level of attentional broadening
Gene variants with suicidal risk in a sample of subjects with chronic migraine and affective temperamental dysregulation
BACKGROUND: Risk factors for suicide are at least partially heritable and functional polymorphisms of targeted genes have been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of this phenomenon. However, other studies examining the association between specific gene variants and suicide revealed inconsistent findings. We aims to evaluate the possible association between MAO-A3, CYP1A2*1F and GNB3 gene variants, hopelessness and suicidal risk in a sample of subjects with chronic migraine and affective temperamental dysregulation. METHODS: 56 women were genotyped for MAO-A3, CYP1A2*1F and GNB3 gene variants. Participants were also assessed using Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS), the Temperament Evaluation of the Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego-Autoquestionnaire (TEMPS-A), and the Suicidal History Self-Rating Screening Scale (SHSS). RESULTS: Patients with higher total scores on affective dysregulated temperaments are more likely to have higher BHS (11.27 +/- 5.54 vs. 5.73 +/- 3.81; t19.20 = -3.57; p = 9 indicating high levels of hopelessness. No association was found between MAO-A3, CYP1A2*1F and GNB3 gene variants and suicidal risk as assessed by BHS and SHSS. CONCLUSIONS: This study did not sustain the association between MAO-A3, CYP1A2*1F and GNB3 gene variants and increased suicidal risk in patients with chronic migraine and affective temperamental dysregulation. Further studies investigating the gene-environment interaction or focusing on other genetic risk factors involved in suicidal behaviour are needed
The moment of microaggression: The experience of acts of oppression, dehumanization and exploitation
After a brief introduction and review of recent literature on microaggressions, a theoretical typology of three sources of social injustice (oppression, dehumanization, and exploitation) contributes to the theorization of the sources of microaggressions. A selected compendium of words and affective phrases generated in classroom exercises illustrates the nature of the experience of the moment of microaggression. Future research on microaggressions as well as evaluation of practice should examine the experience of microaggression, including being subjected to microaggression, initiating such acts, and observing such acts
Politeness and Alignment in Dialogues with a Virtual Guide
Language alignment is something that happens automatically in dialogues between human speakers. The ability to align is expected to increase the believability of virtual dialogue agents. In this paper we extend the notion of alignment to affective language use, describing a model for dynamically adapting the linguistic style of a virtual agent to the level of politeness and formality detected in the user’s utterances. The model has been implemented in the Virtual Guide, an embodied conversational agent giving directions in a virtual environment. Evaluation shows that our formality model needs improvement, but that the politeness tactics used by the Guide are mostly interpreted as intended, and that the alignment to the user’s language is noticeable
Sweet instigator. Choosing increases the susceptibility to affective product features.
The present research demonstrates that repeated active choice-making increases the susceptibility of consumers to salient affective product features. We show that affective features influence product choice more after a series of active product choices than after a series of compliances with purchase instructions. The combined results of three experiments suggest that repeated choice gradually depletes the mental capacity required for critical evaluation of choice alternatives, while ruling out alternative explanations.
