Weed Science Field Day

The 2014 Weed Science Field Day is scheduled for June 26 and will begin at 8:30 a.m.. The location of the Weed Science Field Day will be the Curtiss Farm, which is located on South State Street in Ames. The day will begin with a brief introduction and overview of the growing season. A self-guided tour of the research will follow. There will be opportunities to evaluate different herbicides on important weeds in corn and soybean. New technologies also will be available for review

Weed Science Update 1990

There are a number of major considerations with regards to weed management in 1990. Several weed species have been identified as potentially serious statewide problems. Herbicide carryover has the potential to be an issue in 1990 and should be considered seriously as decisions are made for crop rotation, tillage, and herbicide selection. Finally, there are several herbicide candidates that demonstrate significant weed control and may impact overall weed management choices in 1990

Weed Science Field Day 2002

The Weed Science Field Day will be held on June 27, 2002, at the Iowa State University Curtiss Farm on South State Street in Ames. The field day will begin with registration from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. followed by a short program. Research and demonstrations of weed management techniques, herbicides, application strategies, and various crop traits will be available for review. Most of the ag chemical companies will be represented and available for discussions about their products. Farmers, ag chemical professionals, and the public are invited.
