    Get PDF
Nowadays, many firms formulate and execute digital business strategy to leverage the opportunities of e-business value-creation. In this study, we present a business-level strategic perspective of e-business value-creation and suggest that e-business capability is enabled from strategically deploying IT resources in the inter-organizational context. We propose a research model to capture multiple relationships among digital business strategy, IT resources, and e-business capabilities. The research model was tested using a national survey data from 131 Chinese manufacturing firms. Empirical findings showed that steered by digital business strategy, firms focused on leveraging digital linking, IT human resources, and channel partner relationship in e-business, whereas the exploitation of these resources generated inter-organizational e-business capabilities. This study extends our understanding of the initiation mechanism and the evolving process of e-business values captured through digital business strategy

Giving the fact that hi-tech products as a trade product have become quite crucial and critical in the growth of economies in many nations, the paper took electronic equipment manufacturing industry as an example. The aim of this study is to investigate the competitiveness of the selected electronic equipment manufacturing sectors in China in comparison with selected 19 countries in the world based on the comparative advantage index. In this context, Revealed Comparative Advantage index was utilized using trade figures of four electronic equipment manufacturing sectors for the years 2005, 2007 and 2009. The results indicate that strong comparative advantage exists for China in electronic equipment manufacturing industry, and there is a positive tendency of Revealed Comparative Advantage

Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone was called Optics Valley of Wuhan ratified by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2001, which became a national photoelectron industry base now. As time goes by, Optics Valley of Wuhan photoelectron industry cluster become more and more powerful, and it has become a major form of regional economy in gaining competitive advantages. This paper establishes a GEM model of optics Valley photoelectron industry Cluster, and creates its competitiveness evaluation system. At the same time, not only do we measure the cluster’s competitiveness by distributing questionnaires, but also preliminary analyze and evaluate the measurement results

This paper used Bibexcel, Netdraw and other software to obtain the bibliographic data of the literature, sourcing from CSSCI journals of China national knowledge infrastructure, in order to isolate the major academic groups of cross-border e-commerce and explore the evolution of keywords over the years. Also, the paper drew knowledge mapping according to the word frequency statistics and used keyword co-occurrence methods to investigate research topics and hotspots and clarified possible research trends. Results indicated that the number of cross-border e-commerce research achievements had grown rapidly, and the research themes primarily could be divided into six orientations. The study on cross-border e-commerce along the ‘Belt and Road’ countries has been increasing year by year. Furthermore, the research process should strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and the level of theoretical innovation should be improved

Product Diversity and Firm Performance on O2O Platforms

    Get PDF
This paper studies the decision of product diversity by firms on digital platforms, and the impact of the decisions on the performance of the firms. Specifically, we take the cinema as the unit of analysis, and study the influence of the diversity of movie scheduling on cinema performance in the context of O2O (online-to-offline) platforms. The results show that the diversity of movie scheduling has a significant negative impact on box office revenues and attendance. The ratio of consumers’ adoption of O2O platforms significantly and negatively moderates the main effect. That is, the higher the online ratio is, the weaker the influence of movie-scheduling diversity on cinema performance. Implications of findings are discussed

The Service Quality Evaluation of Mobile Communication from Quality Improvement Perspective ----a case study on China telecom in Wuchang District Wuhan City

Based on SERVAUAL model, this paper brings in the entropy method to rank quality improvement (QI) priority for service attributes, and a service quality evaluation(SQE) model integrating competitive analyses has been structured to evaluate the mobile communication service quality (SQ) for Wuhan Branch of China Telecom(WBCT). The research shows that the QI priority of 22 service attributes has changed as adopts entropy method comparing with gap-based SERVQUAL. The service attributes that finally should be improved have changed from Q20(Various business charges reasonable) and Q22(Record customer complaints and improve) to Q21(provide customers all kinds of value-added services) and Q11(Staff serves with high efficiency)

    Get PDF
Online peer-to-peer (P2P) lending has developed fast around the world in recent years; however, studies regarding gender discrimination and its rationality for developing countries are limited. Gender discrimination towards borrowers and its rationality in P2P lending in China are studied in this paper. Using data collected from PPdai.com, one of the largest P2P lending platforms in China, we found that, female borrowers are less likely to be funded than male borrowers, but their default rates are lower. Such results suggested that there is significant gender discrimination in P2P lending market in China, but such discrimination is out of prejudice rather than from rational reasoning. Eliminating such gender discrimination is not only beneficial to female borrowers, but also helpful for improving returns of lenders

    Get PDF
This paper established a system dynamics model of energy saving and emission reduction in coal mining area, as well as conducted simulation of different development plans, based on the analysis of energy saving and emission reduction factor of coal production links, of the complex structure of energy saving and emission reduction system in coal mining area, and of the dynamic feed-back mechanism inside the system. Result shows that total investment, coal production investment, environmental protection investment and coal energy consumptions per ton play an important part in the energy saving and emission reduction system in coal mining area. By adding total investment and refining the proportion between coal production investment and environmental protection investment, as well as reducing coal energy consumptions per ton, harmonious development of economic and energy saving and emission reduction could be achieved
