matemático representativo do Sistema Respiratório Humano onde seja contemplado o maior
The Respiratory System can be defined as a group of organs and anatomical structures
that work in a coordinated manner enabling the pulmonary respiration, in other words, the
exchange of gaseous substances (O2 and CO2) between the exterior and interior of the human
body.
There are several pathologies inherent to the malfunction of this system and, many of
them can be diagnosed and evaluated by analyzing the respiratory mechanics of each patient. The
analysis of parameters like the inhaled air flow, the pulmonary volume and, by spirometer, allow
the screening of some respiratory pathologies. The operation of the Respiratory System is not
always assimilated simply because this has a mechanical complex even when the ventilation is
not spontaneous but rather assisted- Mechanical Ventilation.
During this study, work has been directed to the preparation of a representative
mathematical model of the respiratory system where the largest number of possible characteristics
is contemplated and, through which it is possible to obtain respiratory information of different
types of patients with different pathologies with assisted respiration or spontaneous respiration.
After overcome some difficulties, found along the work, relatively of mathematical model
mod2, that not fulfilled defined objectives, was studied a new model, mod 4. The transfer function
of the circuit was implemented in Matlab and by changing the input parameters it was possible to
obtain a model that represents the Respiratory System and graphs the volume and movement air
flow of healthy patients with spontaneous respiration and pathology.
Based on the previous model, mod4, a graphical interphase was built in order to increase
interactivity with the user and allow to simulate a desired physiological state. To do this, the user
can define the sign of airway pressure from the options given, or enter the data they want to
simulate
