Analysis reuse exploiting taxonomical information and belief assignment in industrial problem solving

To take into account the experience feedback on solving complex problems in business is deemed as a way to improve the quality of products and processes. Only a few academic works, however, are concerned with the representation and the instrumentation of experience feedback systems. We propose, in this paper, a model of experiences and mechanisms to use these experiences. More specifically, we wish to encourage the reuse of already performed expert analysis to propose a priori analysis in the solving of a new problem. The proposal is based on a representation in the context of the experience of using a conceptual marker and an explicit representation of the analysis incorporating expert opinions and the fusion of these opinions. The experience feedback models and inference mechanisms are integrated in a commercial support tool for problem solving methodologies. The results obtained to this point have already led to the definition of the role of ‘‘Rex Manager’’ with principles of sustainable management for continuous improvement of industrial processes in companies

Arborealization II: Geomorphology of Lagrangian ridges

We prove an "h-principle without pre-conditions" for the elimination of tangencies of a Lagrangian submanifold with respect to a Lagrangian distribution. The main result states that the tangencies can always be completely removed at the cost of allowing the Lagrangian to develop certain non-smooth points, called Lagrangian ridges, modeled on the corner {p=q}R2\{p = |q|\} \subset \mathbb{R}^2 together with its products and stabilizations.Comment: 31 pages, 23 figure

A New Method to Estimate the Contribution of Geometrical Optics in Arbitrary Linear Stratified Planar Structures

Studying the contribution of geometrical optics in arbitrary linear stratified planar structures is of great importance in practical problems. In this article we propose a new procedure based on the Bresler–Marcuvitz transversalization method and equivalent network modeling that is useful for computing source contributions in Wiener–Hopf formulations of complex scattering problems where angular or stratified structures are present. The generalized Wiener–Hopf technique has demonstrated the capability to handle new complex canonical problems through both exact and semianalytical factorization methods

Scattering of a PEC Wedge in Anisotropic Media: Wiener-Hopf Model

The study of electromagnetic wave in interaction of Perfect Electrically Conducting (PEC) wedge in anisotropic media is of great interest in propagation models, GPR technologies and aerospace applications. In this work we present a general method based on the application of an extended version of the WienerHopf (WH) technique for the analysis of the electromagnetic scattering and diffraction. This method is part of the semianalytical spectral methods that allow physical interpretation of the solution in terms of field components

In 2008, the new Constitution of Ecuador recognized the Rights of Nature, in order to restore the ecological footprint. For this reason, the main goal of this article is to reflect about the theories, practices, and public policies developed in Ecuadorian schools with the Environmental Education Program “Tierra de Todos”. As a result, this work integrates scientific knowledge with ancestral wisdom, combining an ecology of knowledge as a transdisciplinary research methodology. Part of this program is an adaptation of the methodology TiNi and promotes a critical environmental awareness with all students of primary and secondary schools. The methodology TiNi has its origin in Peru and was approved by UNESCO for its potential to learn socio-ecologic didactics in direct contact with nature. As conclusion, environmental education public policies aim to face the complex civilizing challenges of the Anthropocene teaching how to feel-think-act in harmony with the co-evolutionary processes of nature, in order to (re)design regenerative cultures.En 2008, la nueva Constitución de Ecuador reconoció los Derechos de la Naturaleza, con el fin de restaurar la huella ecológica.
