Automated tutoring for a database skills training environment
Universities are increasingly offering courses online. Feedback, assessment, and guidance are important features of this online courseware. Together, in the absence of a human tutor, they aid the student in the learning process. We present a programming training environment for a database course. It aims to offer a substitute for classroom based learning by providing synchronous automated feedback to the student, along with guidance based on a personalized assessment. The automated tutoring system should promote procedural knowledge acquisition and skills training. An automated tutoring feature is an integral part of this tutoring system
Generative Adversarial Estimation of Channel Covariance in Vehicular Millimeter Wave Systems
Enabling highly-mobile millimeter wave (mmWave) systems is challenging
because of the huge training overhead associated with acquiring the channel
knowledge or designing the narrow beams. Current mmWave beam training and
channel estimation techniques do not normally make use of the prior beam
training or channel estimation observations. Intuitively, though, the channel
matrices are functions of the various elements of the environment. Learning
these functions can dramatically reduce the training overhead needed to obtain
the channel knowledge. In this paper, a novel solution that exploits machine
learning tools, namely conditional generative adversarial networks (GAN), is
developed to learn these functions between the environment and the channel
covariance matrices. More specifically, the proposed machine learning model
treats the covariance matrices as 2D images and learns the mapping function
relating the uplink received pilots, which act as RF signatures of the
environment, and these images. Simulation results show that the developed
strategy efficiently predicts the covariance matrices of the large-dimensional

The Intellectual Training Environment for Prolog Programming Language
In this work is described a new complex training system, named SPprolog, intended for training and self-training in logic programming language - Prolog. This system includes elements related to Prolog and logic programming, and the elements of independent, complex, self-sufficient training system which is capable considerably to increase the quality of self-training, and to be effective assistant in training. The most useful application of the system can be in distance education and self-training. The main elements of SPprolog system are: Functionally expanded (in comparison with existing systems) Prolog development environment, with the multipurpose code editor, the automated organization system of the personal tools, automated advice mode "Expert Advice", based on the incorporated expert system for cultivated, effective and optimized programming; Link to foreign Prolog programs compiler which allow to compile the program to independent executable; Built in intellectual, interactive, multimedia Prolog interpreter integrated with expert system and the elements of the intellectuality, allowing to lead detailed program interpretation, with popular and evident, explanation of the theory and mechanisms used in it, applying audiovisual effects to increase the level of naturalness of process of explanation; Full digital training course of Prolog programming language presented in the form of the matrix of knowledge and supplied system of consecutive knowledge reproduction for self-training and evaluation; an intensive course of training to the Prolog language and Spprolog system, based on the programmed, consecutive set of actions, allowing using the previous two mechanisms of sys-tem for popular and evident explanation of the main principles of work of system and Prolog language.training, prolog, environment, Spprolog
Online Group-exercises for Older Adults of Different Physical Abilities
In this paper we describe the design and validation of a virtual fitness
environment aiming at keeping older adults physically and socially active. We
target particularly older adults who are socially more isolated, physically
less active, and with less chances of training in a gym. The virtual fitness
environment, namely Gymcentral, was designed to enable and motivate older
adults to follow personalised exercises from home, with a (heterogeneous) group
of remote friends and under the remote supervision of a Coach. We take the
training activity as an opportunity to create social interactions, by
complementing training features with social instruments. Finally, we report on
the feasibility and effectiveness of the virtual environment, as well as its
effects on the usage and social interactions, from an intervention study in
Trento, Ital

and training of skilled personnel for high-tech industry are described. Aspects of organization of
ICT based learning environment of vocational and technical school on the basis of cloud computing

training of workers for high-tech industries is proposed. The model of cloud-based solution for
design of learning environment for vocational education and training of skilled workers is
