NLO QCD corrections to W+ W- b anti-b production with leptonic decays in the light of top quark mass and asymmetry measurements
We present the NLO QCD corrections to the processes p p and p anti-p to W+ W-
b anti-b including leptonic decays of the W bosons. Non-resonant contributions
as well as diagrams with doubly resonant and singly resonant top quark
propagators are fully taken into account. We employ the narrow width
approximation to perform the decays of the W bosons; spin correlations are
however preserved. We also calculate observables relevant for top quark mass
measurements, and study the impact of kinematical requirements and different
scale choices on t anti-t asymmetries.Comment: 29 pages, 14 figures, version submitted to and accepted by JHE
Bridging SMT and TM with translation recommendation
We propose a translation recommendation framework to integrate Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) output with Translation Memory (TM) systems. The framework recommends SMT outputs to a TM user when it predicts that SMT outputs are more suitable for post-editing than the hits provided by the TM. We describe an implementation of this framework using an SVM binary classifier. We exploit methods to fine-tune the classifier and investigate a variety of features of different types. We rely on automatic MT evaluation
metrics to approximate human judgements in our experiments. Experimental results show that our system can achieve 0.85 precision at 0.89 recall, excluding exact matches. futhermore, it is possible for the end-user to achieve a desired balance between precision and recall by adjusting

High precision fundamental constants at the TeV scale
This report summarizes the proceedings of the 2014 Mainz Institute for
Theoretical Physics (MITP) scientific program on "High precision fundamental
constants at the TeV scale". The two outstanding parameters in the Standard
Model dealt with during the MITP scientific program are the strong coupling
constant and the top-quark mass . Lacking knowledge on the
value of those fundamental constants is often the limiting factor in the
accuracy of theoretical predictions. The current status on and
has been reviewed and directions for future research have been identified.Comment: 57 pages, 24 figures, pdflate
