Stability criteria for planar linear systems with state reset

In this work we perform a stability analysis for a class of switched linear systems, modeled as hybrid automata. We deal with a switched linear planar system, modeled by a hybrid automaton with one discrete state. We assume the guard on the transition is a line in the state space and the reset map is a linear projection onto the x-axis. We define necessary and sufficient conditions for stability of the switched linear system with fixed and arbitrary dynamics in the location. \u

A graph theoretic approach to input-to-state stability of switched systems

This article deals with input-to-state stability (ISS) of discrete-time switched systems. Given a family of nonlinear systems with exogenous inputs, we present a class of switching signals under which the resulting switched system is ISS. We allow non-ISS systems in the family and our analysis involves graph-theoretic arguments. A weighted digraph is associated to the switched system, and a switching signal is expressed as an infinite walk on this digraph, both in a natural way. Our class of stabilizing switching signals (infinite walks) is periodic in nature and affords simple algorithmic construction.Comment: 14 pages, 1 figur

    MSAT network architecture

The Mobile Satellite (MSAT) communications system will support mobile voice and data services using circuit switched and packet switched facilities with interconnection to the public switched telephone network and private networks. Control of the satellite network will reside in a Network Control System (NCS) which is being designed to be extremely flexible to provide for the operation of the system initially with one multi-beam satellite, but with capability to add additional satellites which may have other beam configurations. The architecture of the NCS is described. The signalling system must be capable of supporting the protocols for the assignment of circuits for mobile public telephone and private network calls as well as identifying packet data networks. The structure of a straw-man signalling system is discussed
