    A European Exit Strategy

    Get PDF
This Policy Brief was adapted from a paper written by the three authors and presented by Bruegel Director Jean Pisani-Ferry at the informal ECOFIN Council meetings in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 1 Oct. In the brief, the authors argue that bank recapitalisation and restructuring should be a matter of urgency for EU member states and that governments should not undertake the necessary fiscal and monetary policy exit until problems within the financial sector are addressed. The authors also recommend that European states set debt targets to be reached by the end of 2014 and explain that proper incentives are necessary to ensure that an exit strategy, once implemented, is done so in coordination between various institutional actors. Such a policy framework should be in place by summer 2010, the authors say, in order to avoid a buildup of financial instability during the process.

Getting down to the brass tacks, motivated by the initial Coronavirus lockdown in March 2020, my former gymnastics teammate and I have been working on an interval-based circuit fitness application. The three main features are the actual interval based workouts where you can create, edit, and store any workouts as presets for your convenience, the dynamic exercise catalog organized by target zone muscle groups, and lastly just a simple stopwatch and timer. PrimeTime gives you the freedom to navigate these target zones - Arms, Shoulders, Chest, Back, Abs, Legs, and Cardio - and use the exercises within them through an interval timer perfect for time-focused circuits. All of the selectable exercises include a name and description while there is also a dynamic ‘add exercise’ option where you can include any of your own exercises.http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/169552/1/Alan_D_Gerdov-Engineering_Honors-PrimeTime-WN21_Capstone_Final_Report.pdfhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/169552/2/Alan_D_Gerdov-Engineering_Honors-PrimeTime-WN21_Capstone_Final_Presentation.pd

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has conducted a public consultation on a â??roadmap" it proposed late last year to adopt International Financial Reporting Standards in America. This debate takes particular relevance as the crisis has highlighted the importance of accounting standards as an instrument of economic policymaking, with a high-profile controversy about â??mark-to-market" accounting. Nicolas Véron responds with suggestions about how the SEC should both support IFRS, and push for reforms of standard-setting governance and globally consistent enforcement.
