(S.) kanmiyai Okada & Sidorenko, 1992 in the shape of male terminalia (as fig. 3E–G in Okada & Sidorenko 1992, Fig. 57), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the surstylus with 1 peg-like tooth near distal margin, lacking seta (Fig. 57A); the hypandrium only slightly expanded anteromedially (Fig. 57B, C); the pregonite small, with 2 sensilla (Fig. 57B, C); the aedeagus rounded distally (Fig. 57B, C).

Description. Male: First flagellomere yellow on basal 2/3, brown on distal 1/3. Clypeus brownish medially, yellow laterally. Mesonotum dark brown medially, yellow laterally (Fig. 12I). Katepisternum yellowish (Fig. 12J). Scutellum dark brown, yellow at tip (Fig. 12I). Halter mostly white (Fig. 12J). Fore femur with a row of 5 long setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites dark brown to black (Fig. 12I, J); sternites black, about 2 times as wide as long. Male terminalia (Fig. 57): Epandrium with ca. 17 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side (Fig. 57A). Surstylus with numerous minute, serrated processes, lacking pubescence (Fig. 57A). Cercus with much pubescence (Fig. 57A). Pregonite small, with 2 sensilla (Fig. 57B, C). Aedeagus distally rounded and with numerous symmetric, serrated processes distally (Fig. 57B, C). Subepandrial sclerite deeply split medially (Fig. 57D).

Measurements and indices. BL = 3.67 mm in holotype, ThL = 1.53 mm, WL = 2.80 mm, WW = 1.33 mm, arb = 8/5, avd = 0.63, adf = 1.00, flw = 1.50, FW/HW = 0.39, ch/o = 0.33, prorb = 0.61, rcorb = 0.78, vb = 0.50, dcl = 0.39, presctl = 0.61, sctl = 1.82, sterno = 0.75, orbito = 2.00, dcp = 0.17, sctlp = 2.42, C = 1.86, 4c = 1.40, 4v = 2.20, 5x = 2.00, ac = 7.00, M = 1.00, C3F = 0.79.

Type material. Holotype ♂ (SCAU, No.125635, DNA #1434), CHINA: Hesong, Menghai, Yunnan, 21°50'17''N, 100°05'48''E, alt. 1600m, 12.v.2012, ex tree trunk, H.W. (S.) zhuoma Cui & Chen, sp. nov. We also provided a complete list of Chinese Steganina species together with their geographical distributions. In addition, the majority of currently available DNA barcode (partial sequence of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene) sequences of this subgenus (435 sequences of 102 spp.) were employed in a molecular analysis for species delimitation. Taken together, morphology- and molecular-based species delimitation results reached a consensus for an overwhelming majority of these Steganina species (98 of 102 spp.).</jats:p
