Scanning Parameter Selection for Inkjet Print Analysis

    No full text
Noise in inkjet prints can be influenced by many factors, such as halftone pattern, dot size, dot color and ink coalescence. The measurement of various image noise characteristics, such as random graininess and banding, is often needed as part of system design and optimization. We consider the imaging requirements for a scanner used for inkjet printer evaluation. Methods to assess the influence of print sampling, scanner MTF, and noise characteristics are addressed, and applied to an application of print granularity assessment
