Music Similarity Estimation

Music is a complicated form of communication, where creators and culture communicate and expose their individuality. After music digitalization took place, recommendation systems and other online services have become indispensable in the field of Music Information Retrieval (MIR). To build these systems and recommend the right choice of song to the user, classification of songs is required. In this paper, we propose an approach for finding similarity between music based on mid-level attributes like pitch, midi value corresponding to pitch, interval, contour and duration and applying text based classification techniques. Our system predicts jazz, metal and ragtime for western music. The experiment to predict the genre of music is conducted based on 450 music files and maximum accuracy achieved is 95.8% across different n-grams. We have also analyzed the Indian classical Carnatic music and are classifying them based on its raga. Our system predicts Sankarabharam, Mohanam and Sindhubhairavi ragas. The experiment to predict the raga of the song is conducted based on 95 music files and the maximum accuracy achieved is 90.3% across different n-grams. Pengaruh Informasi Kesetaraan Gender Pada Rubrik Swara “Kompas” Terhadap Persepsi Pembaca Tentang Kesetaraan Gender

The realization of gender equality among members of society haven't done perfectly yet. We canstill found so many gender inequality cases in our society. Kompas, a leading daily in Indonesia,present articles concerning gender equality as its main topic in their periodical section: “Rubrik Swara”. By giving an interesting title and photo, by presenting a systematic, factual and accurate information, packed with language that easy to comprehend, “Rubrik Swara” would be read by the reader and presumably, influence their perception about gender equality. POLA KOMUNIKASI KELOMPOK DALAM MEMBANGUN KEKELUARGAAN KOMUNITAS (Analisis Jaringan Pada Anggota Dalam Komunitas Rumah Swara Kita)

Rumah Swara Kita is a voice over community that has members from various regions in Indonesia. Therefore, communication between members in this community uses a hybrid system. However, even though communication is carried out in a hybrid manner, Rumah Swara Kita community is able to build kinship. Therefore, this study aims to describe the pattern of group communication in the Rumah Swara Kita community in building community kinship. The positivist-descriptive paradigm is a method used in research. Sample research was determined using snowball sampling techniques. Research data consists of two types, namely primary source data from the research subject, and secondary data from documentation. Data collection was done through interviews and documentation. Data analysis using communication network analysis based on sociometric theory. The results of this study concluded that the communication pattern used by Rumah Swara Kita community is a star communication pattern. Communication messages in the community do not only come from one messenger but can be conveyed by all members of the community. The content of messages in communication is also universal, not only concerning the interests of the community but also matters concerning community members personally such as obituaries or likes of community members. With the pattern of communication and message content in the Rumah Swara Kita community, intimacy or kinship of the community is built

Fenomena ketimpangan berbasis gender banyak terjadi di Indonesia, padahal keadilan gender merupakan salah satu wujud dari Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM). Fenomena ketimpangan ini kemudian dilanggengkan oleh media massa, baik melalui manajemen organisasi maupun pemberitaan yang dihasilkan oleh media yang bersangkutan. REVIEW OF MUSIC AND ITS THERAPEUTICS W.S.R. AYURVEDIC CLASSICS (BRIHATRAYEE

Ayurveda is the science of living being. With the aim of health and procurement of disease it almost covers all facets of life. It includes health of an individual at physical, mental, spiritual, social level. Ayurvedic classics includes brihatrayee samhita like Charak, Sushruta and Ashtanga Hridaya. A review based study of music (geet, sangeet) was done in these classics to explore whether these classics includes any form of music as therapy or not. Based on review of these classics it was found that music in form of geet (vocal or instrument) has been given in contexts like vajikara(aphrodisiac), vata/pitta prakriti (basic consititutional make up), gandharva sattva, madyapana (intake of alcohol), therapy for rajyakshma (immune deficiency diseases), sanyasa (syncope/coma), jivadan (haemetemesis) etc. various swara have been correlated with their pacifying power of three sharirikadoshas viz. vata, pitta and kapha. Also a relationship between various raga of indian classical music have been said to be based on time of its singing which may be used as a therapy to pacify the dearrangement of prevalent doshas. several articles have shown music as therapy in sleep disorder, psychiatric disorders, schizophrenia, cardiovascular, cancer etc. with this paper a perspective of Ayurveda have been explored in music therapeutics
