Changes in Ro-Ro transport tendencies in Santander Port
In recent years the Ro-Ro traffic has undergone major changes being the most
significant the heavy loads transport in break bulk or static cargo, in other words, that
the transport of bulky and heavy loads in conventional general cargo ships has move to Ro-Ro vessels over rolling platforms.
Nowadays due to the high cost and fragility of these goods is needed to be handled with the utmost care. In this article we describe the transformation suffered by this type of maritime traffic and the development in Ro-Ro vessels cargo equipment.Postprint (published version
ANALISIS ANTRIAN ANGKUTAN PENYEBERANGAN PELABUHAN MERAK
Marine transportation has an important role on economy and migration from one island to another island. Port is a gateway to enter an area and connecting infrastructure between islands. Merak port as the connector of traffic lanes between Java’s island and Sumatra’s island with Ro-Ro ship. Ro-Ro ship is marine transportation that can load a vehicle rolling on and rolling off the ship with its auto-movement (Roll on Roll off). As a service provider of the Ro-Ro ships, the port of Merak trying to serve Ro-Ro ship as good as possible. Measurement of performance system can be analyzed with direct research in the port. The research is being done by observation and recording of the Ro-Ro ships at the pier port of Merak. Based on the results of the analysis, queue model at the port of Merak is (G/G/5) :(GD/∞/∞). Queuing system simulation and ship docking’s cost analysis can be a reference for the port in optimizing management performance the port of Merak crossing.

Ro-ro ferry ports in Bengkalis is a port that has prospects for development and the considerable potential in terms of geographical aspect and the opportunity to support the growth of the industry and the region\u27s economy. The problems of this research are the Role of Department of Transportation Sector Land Transport Implementation and Planning in Ro-ro port in Bengkalis and the Patterns Transportation Agency Relationships with Private Sector Land Transport Implementation and Planning in Ro-ro port in Bengkalis. This research aims to knows the role of the Department of Transportation Sector Land Transport and the Pattern of Private Relationship with Implementation and Planning in Ro-ro port in Bengkalis.The method\u27s of this research is a qualitative method with the type of data used primary data and secondary data, data sources and documents obtained through informants research place. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation, and then analyzed in a descriptive way to provide an overview of the research results.The results of this research are the role of the Department of Transportation Division of Land Transport in the administration and planning of ro-ro port in Bengkalis has not been able to provide optimum services because facilities such as docks and parking lots yet to be finalized, so that problems such as congestion, reliability of schedules and comfort aspects is still perceived by the user / passenger ship
Analisa Pemilihan Propeller Tipe B-Series pada Kapal Feri Ro-Ro 600 GT dengan Menggunakan Aplikasi Matchpro
Kondisi perairan Indonesia yang terdiri dari ribuan gugusan pulau memberikan tantangan untuk mendesain alat transportasi yang efisien dari segi pengoperasiannya. Kapal Feri Ro-Ro merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dipakai. Namun dari beberapa kasus didapatkan bahwa kapal tidak memenuhi kecepatan sesuai perencanaan. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah turunnya efisiensi dari propeller. Turunnya efisiensi propeller ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya terjadinya kavitasi pada propeller, ketidak sesuaian mesin dan propeller yang digunakan pada saat operasional, sehingga diperlukan suatu metode engine propeller matching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe propeller B-series yang tepat untuk kapal Feri Ro-Ro 600 GT dengan menggunakan aplikasi Matchpro dengan database propeller dan mesin penggerak yang digunakan. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa tipe propeller B-Series yang paling efisien dipasang pada Kapal Feri Ro-Ro 600 GT adalah tipe B335

An Analysis of Maritime Ro-Ro Freight Transport Service Attributes through Adaptive Stated Preference: an Application to a Sample of Freight Forwarders
In this paper we present preliminary evidence from a pilot study carried out with the primary objective
of testing the validity of adaptive conjoint data collecting methods in analysing operators’ preferences
when redirecting current on-land transport services to a hypothetical maritime ro-ro service alternative.
The analysis has focussed on a sample of freight forwarders. Through a combination of Revealed
Preferences and Adaptive Stated Preference Experiments we have constructed a database of their
preferences’ toward the maritime ro-ro alternative using a set of transport service attributes: price,
reliability, frequency, transit time, etc. We have estimated the relevant parameters through a Tobit model
and have been able to calculate relative trade-off values among the significant attributes. The resulting
ranking highlights the relative importance of reliability and frequency in the decision to switch to
maritime services
