REDUCING PACKET LOSS IN HIERARCHICAL MOBILE IPV6

    No full text
Abstract- This paper presents an enhancement of the Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 protocol, based on a new concept of “distribution areas ” and the assignment of multiple LCoAs. It contributes to low latency and packet loss during intra-domain handover events. The size and position of the distribution areas are dynamically adjusted depending on traffic load measurements and terminal/user velocity estimation. Simulation results show that it is possible to trade off packet loss and introduced overhead
