Coordination in Reconnaissance-Attack Parsing

A proposal for recognizing coordinate structures using the 'reconnaissanc e-attack' model is presented. The approach concentrates on di.;tinguishing predicate coordination from other types of coordination and suggests that low-level structural cues (such as tile nunbcr of predicates, coordinators, and subordinators occurring in tile input string) can be exploited at little cost during the carly phase of the parse, with dramatic results.
