Check List of Identified Lepidoptera Collected at Mud Lake State Nature Preserve, Williams County, Ohio
A total of 696 species ofLepidoptera is reported from the Mud Lake State Nature Preserve, Williams County, Ohio. This preserve is only a few miles from both the Indiana and Michigan state borders. The great biodiversity of moths is reflected in the bog, fen, shrub swamp, and marsh communities bordering the lake. A check list of species summarizes identified collections for 1988,1992,1995 and 1996 and includes the Hodges et al (1983) species numbers, the scientific name, and the numbers collected by different collecting methods. The list does not fully represent the Tineoidea and Gtllechioidea lepidopteran superfamilies. Melanchra assimilis is a new State record
A Check List of the Lepidoptera of Beaver Creek State Park, Columbiana County, Ohio
Results of a comprehensive survey of Lepidoptera occurring at a 12,334 hectare natural area in Columbiana County. Ohio conducted in 1985 and 1990 is presented. Ten species of skippers, 27 species of butterflies and 597 species and forms of moths were identified and recorded. Euagrotis forbesi, and Spodoptera eridania had not previously been collected in Ohio; and Polia nimbosa and Idia laurenti have been designated as special interest since they are considered rare Ohio residents. The gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar was taken in bait traps and is the first record for that species in the Park. The presence of the gypsy moth, and the possibility of attempted eradication poses a definite threat to the survival of the species mentioned above with the exception of the southern army worm, S. eridama which was undoubtedly a fall migrant
Relaciones entre culturas
La ponencia propuesta distinguirá distintas aproximaciones al estudio de las relaciones entre culturas. Valoraremos los puntos de partida de los enfoques monocultural, multicultural, intercultural y trasncultural.

Vertex rings and their Pierce bundles
In part I we introduce vertex rings, which bear the same relation to vertex
algebras (or VOAs) as commutative, associative rings do to commutative,
associative algebras over the complex numbers. We show that vertex rings are
characterized by Goddard axioms. These include a generalization of the
translation-covariance axiom of VOA theory that involves a canonical
Hasse-Schmidt derivation naturally associated to any vertex ring. We give
several illustrative applications of these axioms, including the construction
of vertex rings associated with the Virasoro algebra. We consider some
categories of vertex rings, and the role played by the center of a vertex ring.
In part II we extend the theory of Pierce bundles associated to a commutative
ring to the setting of vertex rings. This amounts to the construction of
certain reduced etale bundles of vertex rings functorially associated to a
vertex ring. We introduce von Neumann regular vertex rings as a generalization
of von Neumann regular commutative rings; we obtain a characterization of this
class of vertex rings as those whose Pierce bundles are bundles of simple
vertex rings

Lepidoptera Recorded From the Islands of Western Lake Erie, With a Brief Account of Geology and Flora
A list of Lepidoptera from the islands of western Lake Erie is presented along with a brief account of the geology, flora, and human activities in the area. The checklist contains 169 species representing 27 families. Suggestions are made for the improvement of this preliminary checklist as well as for future research
Traces on Semigroup Rings and Leavitt Path Algebras
The trace on matrix rings, along with the augmentation map and Kaplansky
trace on group rings, are some of the many examples of linear functions on
algebras that vanish on all commutators. We generalize and unify these examples
by studying traces on (contracted) semigroup rings over commutative rings. We
show that every such ring admits a minimal trace (i.e., one that vanishes only
on sums of commutators), classify all minimal traces on these rings, and give
applications to various classes of semigroup rings and quotients thereof. We
then study traces on Leavitt path algebras (which are quotients of contracted
semigroup rings), where we describe all linear traces in terms of central maps
on graph inverse semigroups and, under mild assumptions, those Leavitt path
algebras that admit faithful traces.Comment: 21 page
A Check List of the Lepidoptera of Fulton County, Ohio With Special Reference to the Moths of Goll Woods State Nature Preserve
The results of a comprehensive 1988-1989 survey of the Lepidoptera in the 130 hectare Goll Woods State Nature Preserve in Fulton County, Ohio are presented. In addition many records of butterflies and skippers outside the confines of the Pre serve are presented for the first time. This is the fifth in a series of papers featuring the current status of lepidopterous fauna in Ohio\u27s recreational areas. A total of 27 species of skippers, 51 species of butterflies and 394 species of moths was identified and tabulated for the county. Three species on this list are classified as endangered, Epidemia helloides, Lithophane semiusta and Ufeus plicatus, and two are threatened, Speyeria idalia and Clossiana selene. Although locally abundant, Lithophane semiusta Grote is known to occur only at this site in Ohio. A single specimen of Ufeus plicatus was taken and is the only known specimen for the state
