Cognitive Load and Its Relationship with Mental Capacity in Accordance with Their Levels at Students of the Secondary Stage in Terms of Sweller Theory
The study aimed to identify the cognitive load and its relationshipwith mental capacity in accordance their levels at the students of the secondary stage in the terms of Sweller theory. The study sample consisted of (300) male and female eleventh and twelfth grade students from the leadership schools in Amman. The researcher used the cognitive load scale and the mental capacity scale. The results showed a high level of cognitive load in male and female, a high cognitive Load on students of scientific specialization rather than literary specialization, and that the mental capacity of the study sample in general is moderate, and that the mental capacity of students of scientific specialization is high compared to the mental capacity of students of literary specialization. In addition, that the association between higher mental capacity and cognitive load was higher in males than in females, and that the relationship between the mean mental capacity of both sexes with the cognitive load was statistically significant
A Relationship Between Problem Solving Ability and Students' Mathematical Thinking
This research have a purpose to know is there an influence of problem solving abilty to students mathematical thinking, and to know how strong problem solving ability affect students mathematical thinking. This research used descriptive quantitative method, which a population is all of students that taking discrete mathematics courses both in department of Information Systems and department of mathematics education. Based on the results of data analysis showed that there are an influence of problem solving ability to students mathematical thinking either at department of mathematics education or at department of information systems. In this study, it was found that the influence of problem solving ability to students mathematical thinking which take place at mathematics education department is stonger than at information system department. This is because, at mathematics education department, problem-solving activities more often performed in courses than at department of information system. Almost 75% of existing courses in department of mathematics education involve problem solving to the objective of courses, meanwhile, in the department of information systems, there are only 10% of these courses. As a result, mathematics education department student's are better trained in problem solving than information system department students. So, to improve students' mathematical thinking, its would be better, at fisrtly enhance the problem solving ability

The Quantified Relationship
The growth of self-tracking and personal surveillance has given rise to the Quantified Self movement. Members of this movement seek to enhance their personal well-being, productivity, and self-actualization through the tracking and gamification of personal data. The technologies that make this possible can also track and gamify aspects of our interpersonal, romantic relationships. Several authors have begun to challenge the ethical and normative implications of this development. In this article, we build upon this work to provide a detailed ethical analysis of the Quantified Relationship. We identify eight core objections to the QR and subject them to critical scrutiny. We argue that although critics raise legitimate concerns, there are ways in which tracking technologies can be used to support and facilitate good relationships. We thus adopt a stance of cautious openness toward this technology and advocate the development of a research agenda for the positive use of QR technologies
Leveraging a Relationship with Biology to Expand a Relationship with Physics
This work examines how experiences in one disciplinary domain (biology) can
impact the relationship a student builds with another domain (physics). We
present a model for disciplinary relationships using the constructs of
identity, affect, and epistemology. With these constructs we examine an
ethnographic case study of a student who experienced a significant shift in her
relationship with physics. We describe how this shift demonstrates (1) a
stronger identification with physics, (2) a more mixed affective stance towards
physics, and (3) more expert-like ways of knowing in physics. We argue that
recruiting the students relationship with biology into experiences of learning
physics impacted her relationship with physics as well as her sense of how
physics and biology are linked
Overworked? The relationship between workload and health worker performance in rural Tanzania
The current shortage of health workers in many low-income countries poses a threat to the quality of health services. When the number of patients per health worker grows sufficiently high, there will be insufficient time to diagnose and treat all patients adequately. This paper tests the hypothesis that a high caseload reduces the level of effort per patient in the diagnostic process, using a new data set from rural Tanzania. Tanzania has a severe shortage of health workers, and previous research has pointed at high workload as a main reason for sub-standard clinical performance. We observed and evaluated the level of effort of 159 clinicians in 2,095 outpatient consultations at 126 health facilities with different levels of caseload per clinician. Surprisingly, we find no association between caseload and the level of effort per patient in the diagnostic process. In fact, clinicians appear to have ample amounts of idle time. We conclude that health workers are not overworked and that scaling up the number of health workers in this setting is unlikely to raise the quality of health services. A more promising measure for improved quality is to raise the level of formal clinical training among the clinicians, although training alone seems far from enough to raise quality to adequate levels.Health personnel Tanzania
