Ange-newline"> </The integration of hermeneutics and the study of Qur'anic interpretation is still considered as a taboo. This article reviewes the hermeneutic conception of Heidegger's Dasein and looks for its relevance to the study of Qur'anic interpretation. Theories within Heidegger's Dasein that can be used tostrengthen Qur'anic studies are theory of facticity, temporality, and theontological-existential. In the midst of the development of contemporarysciences such as hermeneutics on the one hand, and the widespread ofexclusive interpretation of the Qur'an on the other, integration of Westernhermeneutics to the fild of Qur'anic studies is necessar

Inspiration in Qur\u27anic revelation is quite different from the Catholic understanding. The incarnational principle through which the human faculties of the inspired writer are active in the very mode of receptivity seems to be understood differently by Muslims. Differences in understanding how the God who speaks is known by his creatures can lead to invaluable dialogue and mutual understanding for both of our Abrahamic traditions

Established in 1405 A.H. (1984 CE) by His Royal Highness King Fahd bin ‘Abd al-Aziz Al Sa’ud (rahimahu Allah) Qur’an Printing Complex quickly became one of the most eminent institutions that are related not only to the propagation of Qur’anic knowledge, but to Islamic Affairs in general. The main goal of our article is to explore how the Qur’an Printing Complex obtained its highest position in Islamic world and which efforts, with the help of Allah the Almighty, were made by the wise government of Al Sa’ud and Islamic scholars from the Kingdom on the way to these achievements. It is proved that Qur’an Printing Complex completely realized Islamic view on the translation of the Glorious Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that is stated in the words of Sheikh al-Islam Ahmad ibn Taymiyah (rahimahu Allah) in his work “Refutation of Greek Logic”: “Islamic community is obliged to convey (tabligh) The Qur’an, its words and meanings… if its conveying to the foreigners needs a translation, let them [i.e. Muslims] translate it as much as possible”. We assume that King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex is a unique religious institution in the world, since no other religion has such a powerful scientific and cultural organization that deals with sacred texts and their edition. The level of published editions, interpretations and academic requirements to the translations received the highest evaluation not only from Muslim scholars, but also from Orientalists. The well-known edition of the Glorious Mushaf (al-Mushaf al-Madinah an-Nabawiyyah), published by Complex, constitutes one of the most referred sources in the present-day Qur’anic Studies. Our article affirms that methods and other features of Islamic call, used by Qur’an Printing Complex and based on the path of as-salaf as-salih, provide a wide scientific experience that is useful for Islamic ummah in every corner of the globe

    Qur'anic Hermeneutics

This book is open access and available on www.bloomsburycollections.com. Qur'anic Hermeneutics argues for the importance of understanding the polysemous nature of the words in the Qur’an and outlines a new method of Qur’anic exegesis called intertextual polysemy. By interweaving science, history and religious studies, Abdulla Galadari introduces a linguistic approach which draws on neuropsychology. This book features examples of intertextual polysemy within the Qur’an, as well as between the Qur’an and the Bible. It provides examples that intimately engage with Christological concepts of the Gospels, in addition to examples of allegorical interpretation through inner-Qur’anic allusions. Galadari reveals how new creative insights are possible, and argues that the Qur’an did not come to denounce the Gospel–which is one of the stumbling blocks between Islam and Christianity–but only to interpret it in its own words

This article discusses the integration of hermeneutics in Quranic studies. Some Muslim scholars consider hermeneutics to be one of the partners in interpreting the Quran. One of the contemporary Muslim intellectuals who has quite influential hermeneutical ideas is Bintu SyÄá¹Ä«'. The research in this paper is classified as qualitative literature research with a socio-historical approach and uses Gadamer's theory to analyze the influence of Bintu SyÄá¹Ä«''s hermeneutical concept. The results of this study conclude two things, namely: first, Bintu ShÄá¹Ä«''s method of interpretation in her tafsir is influenced by her education and her husband AmÄ«n al-KhÅ«lÄ« so that Bintu ShÄá¹Ä«''s method in interpreting the Qur'an leans towards literary studies to reveal the bayani of the Qur'an. Second, Bintu SyÄá¹Ä«' is one of the Muslim hermeneutic figures who adopts the quasi-objective hermeneutic genre

Muhammad Arkoun, A Contemporary Islamic Thinker, Has Introduced A Renewal In Quranic Interpretation That Emphasizes Critical Analysis Of Islamic Texts And Discourse. This Study Aims To Analyze The Contextual Approach Used By Muhammad Arkoun To Challenge Dogmatic Thinking In Quranic Interpretation. Using A Qualitative Descriptive Method, Data Is Integrated Through A Literature Review Of Arkoun's Works And Related Studies Discussing His Thoughts. The Research Findings Indicate That Arkoun Employs A Hermeneutical Approach, Particularly The Deconstruction Of Meaning, To Understand How Textual Meanings Develop Within Various Historical Contexts. His Method Of Interpretation Seeks To Distinguish Between The Quran As Divine Revelation And The Quran As A Text That Has Undergone Codification And Interpretation. Despite Facing Significant Challenges From Conservative Scholars, Arkoun's Approach Provides A Substantial Contribution To Modern Islamic Studies, Especially In Fostering A More Inclusive And Dynamic Understanding Of Islamic Texts

This article discusses the Fazlur Rahman and Thabathabai thought on Qur'anic verses that can be used as a basis for interfaith relations. The discussion focused on their methodology of interpretations and responses to conventional Qur'anic interpretations. Fazlur Rahman with his double movement hermeneutics and Thabathabai with his philosophical interpretation. Although hermeneutics and interpretation are often disputed, the interpretation of these two figures has a common point that can be synthesized through logical dialectics. Both of their attention to philosophy and critical responsestowards conventional methods of interpretation became a thesis for the synthesis process carried out. Hereby, it can be found a synthesis about the Qur'anic basis which can be used as a guide for Muslims in fostering relationships with other religions followers. In addition, they also provide guidelines related to the way for a Muslim to behave towards the adherents of other religions, without having to believe in the inevitability of practicing religious pluralism in terms of interfaith relation. This synthesis, if it is drawn into the interpretation methodology, it is seen that there is a correlation between the results of the double movement hermeneutics interpretation and philosophical interpretation, at least in the term of ethics
